  1. He'll still be a restricted free agent. This will end up looking like a smart move if Miles doesn't have a good season or a terrible one if he balls out and his price goes up.
  2. And get 3 winning seasons as we saw with Cam. The Oline is just as important as the QB, perhaps even more so.
  3. I said when Darnold was traded, that he should get the chance he has been given without anyone looking over his shoulder ready to take his spot. That's happened, and he appears to be just who he was in NY and at USC. Ride with him the rest of the season, because if things keep going like they have the last three games the Panthers will have a higher pick(top 10) pick. Fitt will probably use that to trade down and recoup some of the picks he has traded away. Sadly, this all means the Panthers will be back on the QB hunt next offseason once more. Hopefully, they don't make a panic move and give up a lot of capital to try and fix that mistake. Build the Oline and rest of the team, then go all in on a rookie like the Chiefs did.
  4. If his list is smaller, it should be since he hasn't coached much in the NFL. Still, it couldn't hurt to just call someone up and ask for advice, could it?
  5. I agree. Heck, if nothing else, Rhule could have done like Ron did and call older, proven NFL coaches for advice.
  6. This is true. Perhaps he should have gotten a more proven NFL OC or DC to help navigate that curve or at least an advisor.
  7. I was meh on the Rhule hire when it was made. It also made me wonder how be became such a hot name that offseason. Rhule is a coach that has never been the HC of a major college nor did he have a lot of NFL experience. And he wasn't one of the young offensive minds all the teams were clamoring for.
  8. I wouldn't put a rookie behind this Oline. I don't want to see the Panthers create their very own David Carr. Fix the line with actual proof next season that it is improved, and then draft a QB the following year. Hopefully that will line up with a better QB class coming out as well.
  9. As I said in another thread, I'm not high on him. But I'm more than willing to see how it plays out too. Taking a page from Rivera's book and reaching out to older and more experienced NFL coaches could be good for him.
  10. People keep saying that QB is the most important position and the Panthers have proven for over a decade that the OL is just as, if not more important.
  11. It doesn't matter that some fans are calling for blood. Fitt and Tepper are the only ones that can put Rhule on the hot seat. I still think it'll be two more years before that happens too.
  12. I'm not high on Rhule, but think it's too early to be saying something like this.
  13. Yeah, I think Fox was slightly better than Rivera. Both were longer than they probably should have been too.
  14. That's yet to be determined. He was never challenged in those first three games before he got injured.
  15. Even if that is true, Rhule hasn't shown anything other than being better than Hurney yet.
  16. lol If they another DB, Tepper needs to fire all of them then and just throw a dart at a dart board for the rest of the picks.
  17. If the key to the defense is a promising rookie CB that had never been tested then the defense has more issues than people want to look at.
  18. I'm not sure it matters where the Panthers end up in the draft since Fitt will probably trade down to recoup draft picks that have been traded away.
