  1. You know the players show up every week, otherwise the Panthers would be forfeiting every game.
  2. This is where I'm at. I'll watch and take whatever enjoyment I can from the games, but I have zero expectations going into them.
  3. Horn didn't look bad, but wasn't a world beater by any stretch of the imagination. The three games he played were against two rookies making their first starts and a guy that was considered a reclamation project at best. All three were under heavy pressure and didn't have a lot of time to go through their progressions to look his way much. When thrown his way, he's had one PD(tied for 128th amongst active players) and been in on five tackles. Oh yeah, he's had a flag tossed against him and jumped in the way of a teammate to get the gimme INT. Not bad, shows promise, but still just a talented rookie starting his career. If you want to say he is the best corner the Panthers have, then that is more an indictment that the others suck at their jobs than him being a lockdown corner. Which, is why he was drafted. Never claimed anyone was a success yet. Early returns on Slater show he is promising just like Horn. Early returns on Christenson in the little game time he got weren't as good. Hopefully, he plays better if he gets to play this week.
  4. Well, there's your problem. You're trying to think. Horn has talent, but it's still way too early to crown him when he's only played 3, count them 1 2 3, 3, games.
  5. Bouknight needs to get closer to the 3 point line before taking a 3. He doesn't have the range for those long shots he takes behind the arc.
  6. This is one of the ugliest starts I can recall watching.
  7. I think the Hornets are making up for looking so good in game 1. They've been bad so far.
  8. Hornets are in midseason form and can't buy a basket.
  9. I don't mind. It's only preseason and this should let the younger guys get more burn.
  10. He's not his dad. He's a rookie that played three games and got injured. It's way too early to claim he's the next great corner.
  11. Cody Martin gets the start due to injuries/protocol. JB does love him some Martins'. At least he only has one this season.
  12. The original was great. I'm not sure about a reboot, especially on network TV though. Hollywood is very hit or miss with reboots/remakes.
  13. Sweet. That should be a lot more entertaining than whatever football games are on.
  14. You're wanting to compare two rookies that just started their careers to a guy that has only played a full season once in his seven year career? You're really reaching there. Have a good night.
  15. If teams are starting to covet linemen once more and Linderbaum lives up to the hype, he'll probably be a high 1st round pick. Depending on how the Panthers do this season, they may never have a chance at him.
  16. Yep, but they weren't considered top talent either. Brown was considered a fourth rounder at best that fell to the sixth round. Christenson was projected as a third rounder which is where he was taken. They'll get their chance eventually.
  17. The 29 year old oft injured, 7 year journeyman drafted 19th in 2015 that is on his 4th team? That guy has already had his three strikes and proven to be a backup at best.
  18. Them not being high on Slater playing tackle and overpaying Elf and Erving on the first day of free agency might prove they aren't the best at judging Oline talent. Tremble, Marshall, and Chuba vs whoever else they could possibly have drafted is one of those things that will take at least a season or more to determine. They're all just rookies getting ready to play their 5th games after all. And yeah, they can't rebuild the team in 2 years. They still could have broke ranks from what the previous regime did and put some cheap, young talent in the Oline instead of so much on the defense. They just have different priorities.
  19. Pointing out what one of the worst teams in the NFL, who just so happens to be on their second top five QB pick within five years, is doing doesn't help your argument. Darnold coming here and finding more success should prove that.
  20. Source. Three tackles and a guard taken in round 1. Three centers, four tackles, and a guard in round 2. A center, three guards, and two tackles were taken after BC. There were plenty of guys available outside of Leatherwood. They had several opportunities to select more Oline help. They just decided not to. Hopefully they spend most of next year's draft on the Oline. Well, what picks the team has left that is.
  21. Olinemen don't get the stats and media hype that Dlinemen do. They also don't generally get paid as much. So, the most promising youngsters play defense instead. By making the Oline more important on their network/media, and paying those guys more, the NFL could reverse that perception.
  22. Maybe they should have hedged their bets and took some early round Oline talent during the draft instead of trading back so much.
  23. Eh, to borrow an old saying, don't count your chickens before they hatch. If Christensen was better than Erving, he would have already had the job. I hope he is better, but it's possible he could be worse.
