I agree. You take him from the Jets where he had a horrible oline and horrible coaching. Then you bring him to the Panthers and give me a worse oline and a first time OC who cannot call plays. Plus, Rhule treated the team like it was still college. Take out CMC and it's probably a worse environment than the Jets. I'm very curious to see what he can do with a real OC and a real NFL caliber oline. I have no idea if he's really good or not but there is no way he's been given a real chance yet.

Another hilarious ending in the smash hit comedy that is the Atlanta Falcons. When it comes to the joy that sports give me, Atlanta screwing up is a very close 2nd to a Panthers win. Just think how much this move by Watson to the Browns has screwed up their cap even worse and their relationship with Watson, plus the morale of their fan base. I LOVE IT!

No matter what we are going to roll with a low tier QB like Darnold, Mitch, Marcus, etc. There isn't going to be more than a few games plus or minus. Is 7 wins that much better than 4? In my eyes, it doesn't matter what retread QB we end up with. You either have to trade for a very good QB like Watson and with building a team with all that crap or you build the rest of the team with an eye on gaining assets and looking at QB in the draft over the next 2 years. Are the QB classes over the next 2 years looking to be at all any good. I know a lot changes but find a scout who can actually scout college QB's and pay him to do nothing but have the Panthers be as prepared as possible for drafting a QB. Lay out the next 2 years. Sucks to say but it's the exact same plan that we began when Rhule stated. The problem is and has always been finding a franchise QB. Honestly, if we were trying to put together a team right now for this upcoming year would you rather have Watson with no legal problem and have to find spots for Burns, Brown and Horn or would you rather be in the situation we are in now with those elite players but Darnold or Mitch at QB. If you can clear up the legal issue, which is a big if, there is no question Watson is not worth 3 1st round picks. He a proven top tier QB, otherwise we will continue to do what we've been doing for the last 3 years. Building a quality team which throwing everything but the kitchen sink at finding a QB.

I have no read any of this thread but if the Panthers signed Winston I might implode. I've hated Florida State longer than the Panthers have been around because I'm a huge Clemson fan. I hate Winston for that reasons and he was a Buc, then a Saint. Plus, he is a complete moron. No, no, no, no. Would rather have Donald 100 times over.

I want to keep Rhule and use this year to build for 2023. Tank and draft Bryce Young.

I'm not saying that having a franchise QB is 100% necessary to go to and win a Superbowl but it's sure seems like Tepper believes that. Let's assume that is the case. How do you build the team? I don't think there is a single legit or semi-legit QB available through trade or in the draft that we haven't seriously looked into getting. Bridgewater, Stafford, Watson, Fields, Darnold, Newton, Darnold, Watson...you get the idea. To me it sure seems like the marching orders are build the D and do everything in the known universe to get a franchise QB. Take every chance and look under every bush. If it ends up costs us draft picks, coaches or wins in that quest, it's worth it. It's better to be elite or horrible. Your success goes as your QB goes. Leave no stone unturned. Do you agree?

We keep Rhule and fix the oline. Darnold turns out to be pretty good with protection. Defense gets time to rest and plays elite. We go the playoff and look like legit contenders. Will your opinion of Rhule change?

Oline can't pass block. OC can't or won't call more plays to put his QB in a better position to succeed. QB making bad plays behind a bad oline and bad playcalls. Fix any of these things and we are in a much better position to excel. I also think that losing a shut down man CB (in Horn) along with trouble stopping the run has really hurt us in our blitz packages.

Proud of my guys and fans that kept pounding. That crossing route killed us all day long. Still a lot of season left and a lot of room to keep getting better. Keep the faith and keep pounding.

I still think Darnold can be a good QB. Our offensive line combined with an OC that is putting the QB and WR in horrible situations is a recipe for disaster no matter who is QB. Not saying Darnold isn't a bust but now he's in a situation again with a horrible oline and bad play calling.
