What isn’t going to sink is any extra money from PSL owners we may be sunk on seat costs but most of us are not spending another dime at the stadium and surrounding hotels and restaurants and we are selling individual gams Hopefully being the laughing stock of the nfl overcomes his ego He best fire that talking pin head of his making or it will continue a downward spiral that isn’t recoverable in these hard times, not a lot of discretionary income to go around if he wants people to part with, he best offer hope, a mea culpa, and a fresh start with a proven nfl coach and a smarty drafted rookie qb

Graziano: "Lots of buzz" Panthers could fire Rhule
raleigh-panther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know San Fran does not have a high octane offense. I also know the 49ers LT Trent Williams is out and so is Colton Mkivitz and that helps but in all honesty, I cannot anoint the Panthers defense based on playing well against the likes of the Browns, an injured Saints team, the Giants and the Cardinals (without Hopkins) I mean, not one of those teams are offensive juggernauts either and the coaches aren’t the caliber of the 49ers coach either there are good players on the Panthers defense but I just have trouble believing in them to get key stops when it matters against the better teams its probably just because of Rhule that I feel that way…my vision is tainted -

Graziano: "Lots of buzz" Panthers could fire Rhule

Yep And the sad part, no one on here wants Rhule to fail, it’s not in anyone’s best interest but if we are all honest, we knew the guy was a failure waiting to happen from the day he was hired Too, never ever trust anyone, much less an NFL coach who talks so much He talks and talks and talks and used the ultimate business phrase ‘repeatable process for sustained excellence’ and Tepper took the bait, hook line and sinker as for both Tepper and Rhule in the NFL ‘all hat, no cattle’ -
All 22 Breakdown Wk 4: Off vs Arizona Def

And defensive film study -
thank you for sharing the video I believe it’s very important to hear all of the different versions of the analysis as some of this is not just Baker (he is the one the camera is on) but a combination of very poor coaching (technique, scheme, plays, groupings. Situational selection) and poor efforts by players I know Moton is over promoted on the team as for years he was the best of the worst but his performances are very poor Or it could be that injury is worse than being talked about There are many evaluations I wonder how much of this the Panthers coaches do…do they even know what they are looking at ? To be fair to the evaluator, he said at the beginning that the All 22 film was not yet available when he released his first version and he would do a revision when available It is a very sad evaluation of a supposedly pro offense in any case

This is a very interesting link. Breaks down all offensive drives Just have to get used to the evaluator’s overuse of the words ‘pedestrian’ instead of average and ‘egregious’ Summary 1 poor coaching poor play design. Baker only having one receiver or receivers being bunched together in small space on routes 2 poor play calls and timing of calls Using cmc inappropriately 3 dropped balls by TEs 4 oline constantly being pushed backwards even with 3 step drops Tackle play poor Moton has really regressed don’t know if he is injured 5 oline repeatedly allowing Dlinemen to get hands up contributing to batter balls. vs oline delivering gut punches to make the dline less likely to do it again Makes the point that with hands raised and no pushback, baker would have to throw over 10 feet high and not even Josh Allen can do that Not sure why Campen has not addressed this 6. baker had 3 bad throws and several misreads but in some cases, he had no choice as on the 2 point conversion attempt net baker is a mostly average qb and the play around his and the poor coaching is not going to cut it there is more but I think I got the highlights If you have time to watch the video it’s fairly interesting and also sad How bad was Baker Mayfield in week 4

I did enjoy the Broncos fans bailing at the beginning of overtime there are those who think only panthers fans do that Pro teams suck, fans leave …it’s not unique to Charlotte …and the broncos had a chance to win lol

What does he do, he talks..and talks…and talks. he doesn’t say anything…he just talks

Note: to me this is a ‘feel better about ourselves’ fluff piece but just shared it anyway I bolded a few comments.. it’s justification and ‘it’s only 4 games’ yadda yadda Rhule and McAdoo talk… to date, all talk, no do’ ..or as the native Texans say ‘all hat, no cattle’ Fixing the Panthers offensive: OC Ben McAdoo says ‘I was brought here to make an impact’ BY ELLIS WILLIAMS [email protected] 2 hours ago The Carolina Panthers offense has a CVS-receipt length of problems. Its quarterback ranks near the bottom of almost every passing metric. Its receivers are not getting the ball enough. Its tight ends are missing blocks and dropping passes. Detailing each of those issues and the consequences they produce results in grim diagnoses of quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Panthers’ offense. Carolina ranks 31st in offensive DVOA, according to Football Outsiders. The Panthers are eight percentage points ahead of the Colts’ 32nd-ranked offense. The Panthers are last in plays run per game at just 52. The Bears are 31st (54.8), Tennessee ranks 30th (55) and Miami is 29th (56.8). Arizona, who beat Carolina 26-16 on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium, leads the NFL in plays per game with 73. The Bengals are second (72.5). The Jets rank third (72.3). Washington is fourth (71.8) and the Eagles are fifth (71.3). Carolina is last in total yardage gained. The Panthers rank 32nd in third-down conversion percentage and last in first downs. Pick an offensive metric, scroll to the bottom and you’ll find Carolina. “I was brought in here to make an impact. And it hasn’t happened yet,” offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said. “Now, that doesn’t mean we’re discouraged. We’re four games in.” Losers of three of their first four games, the Panthers have played well enough on defense and special teams to win. Their lone victory came via a defensive touchdown and a blocked field-goal try. But the defense cannot and should not have to carry the Panthers any further. “It’s time for our offense to actually play well,” Mayfield said on Wednesday. “Instead of just relying on our defense and special teams to save us and bail us out.” If Mayfield is correct then the Panthers’ offense must play well against the NFL’s No. 1-ranked defense. The San Francisco 49ers rank No. 1 in defensive DVOA, according to Football Outsiders. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans deploy a monstrous defense predicated on effectively rushing the quarterback with four defenders and dropping seven players into coverage. It’s working as edge rusher Nick Bosa leads the NFL with six sacks. The team has 15 sacks, seven of which came in a 24-9 beatdown of the Rams on Monday night. Bosa notched 14 pressures on quarterback Matt Stafford. The 49ers are allowing an NFL-low 3.8 yards per play. That is a lot for Carolina to overcome. But McAdoo said the team has a plan to combat the 49ers’ elite defensive line. ‘There’s a combination of things you can do,” he said. “Whether you try to help, or try to spit the ball out, or try to run the ball.” Running the ball is a good idea. The Panthers are successful at that. Running back Christian McCaffrey practiced fully on Thursday, a positive sign his thigh injury from last week is better. But Carolina won’t beat San Francisco playing a one-dimensional offense. “Spit the ball out” means throw it quickly, which has. been a problem for Mayfield. He had five batted passes against Arizona. He leads the league with 11. The next closest quarterback has eight. “That’s something that we are diving into. We’re studying it,” McAdoo said. “Each one has its own reason for it happening, but it’s not all the same reason. ... Anything that starts to happen in this league that shows up as repetitive, other teams try to incorporate it. It’s a copycat league.” Expect the 49ers’ pass rush to jump up for Mayfield passes, if they are not pressuring him already. Coach Matt Rhule and starters across the offense, believe the issues killing the Panthers will be fixed. “I’m in the meetings,” McCaffrey said on Wednesday. “Bad football is not being coached.” McAdoo agrees. “There are flashes, whether it’s in a game or whether it’s in practice of it looking really good,” McAdoo said. “Then there are flashes where it doesn’t look the way we want it to look. In this league, you have to keep working to minimize the flashes of the things that don’t look the way you don’t want them to look. And you do that with consistency.” The flashes are there. But they disappear via batted passes, fumbled reverses and thrid-down tight end drops. McAdoo said the offense’s woes are not all Mayfield’s fault. “Baker doesn’t get enough credit for what he’s been able to do. He’s come in here and learned a new system that he’s never been involved in,” McAdoo said. “He keeps getting better at practice. We just need to keep working and carry that over to the games.”

Yep the problem is the timing of those drops as well…not just last week, but every week particularly for a QB who is having accuracy problems and struggling, they don’t need to add to it, when the ball comes to them, hits them in the hands, they have to catch it
-
Well. He isn’t wrong. very inconsistent in pass catching they had what, two or three drops on key 3rd downs TEs are supposedly big in McAdoo’s offense they have to catch the ball…if they can’t, then just have then block or put Marshall out there do something I sometimes ask myself why the coach doesn’t bring them to the sideline and say ‘stop. Why aren’t you catching the fuging ball Do your damned job’ Just like I saw an interview with Taylor post game Sunday in the locker room and in the background, I heard ping pong balls I’m like you fugers just got booed off the field and you are playing ping pong ….for real… im sure the players love Rhule…look at Chubba, he would not be on any other team I digress apologize

Sad state of affairs particularly when 1. CMC gets 8 touches 2. The OC refuses to run the ball or use CMC or the bigger back 3. One and two matter as anyone who looks at Mayfield in Cleveland, he thrives on play action … and absolutely not as he is being used here if they want to win and or give themselves a chance to win or at least look like pros and rest the defense, they best learn to go old school until they figure it out I said it two weeks ago it’s imperative now oh yeah, run it behind Ickey It’s what he does best
-
I believe Steve Smith said on FNZ yesterday, that whenever the Panthers are in the bunch setup, it is always the same play called as Mayfield tried in the last pass that was batted down I’m paraphrasing and probably not well seems to me that yes, Baker isn’t great but the offense has a lot of ‘tells” to the defense

Trust me a Tepper is wanting a change
raleigh-panther replied to 54th man's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep and called fans critical of Rhule ‘basement dwellers’ -
Cam Newton, before he got beat to death, was the quarterback One could out a franchise in his back one can’t put his shirt on his back without tearing a sleeve Cam Newton is greater than Baker in the current nfl, without a qb, a team is nothing … I thing is where the Panthers are courtesy of the decisions of the head coach
-
I don’t think Mayfield’s strong suit is listening His level of incompetence is pretty astonishing I’d like to say its scheme but there are open receivers…the scheme isn’t outer worldly but there are open receivers of course, Rhule”s regime in Carolina is where offenses come to die after awhile when the QBs constantly fail, the coordinators constantly fail and the team fails in critical, moments, over and over again, it’s a head coach problem
-
It’s a very disappointing year Baker means nothing to the people here he was brought in, people were excited, they bought his jersey. The cheers for him opening game at the stadium were impressive I don’t know or care what his problems are but he and Rhule both would do well to shorten their press conferences ..and both have made millions at bring far less than competent at the pro level they don’t have to worry about booing much longer as the only people in the stands will be the opposing fans
