Fitterer, Reich Combine pressers today
raleigh-panther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not my fav. I’ve never seen him excel when it counts i honestly believe it’s CJ or AR 1 and 2 and if they can’t get one of those they will trade down for Hooker. -

Reckless is one thing. Reckless lead to death is something else again truthfully, if I were a GM, nope. Too much importance to the franchise at that position and future money in that kinda of pick to bring on that much anxiety -
From Adam S. Police secured arrest warrants for NFL prospect Jalen Carter stemming from his alleged involvement in a crash that killed a teammate and staffer on Jan. 15. The Athens-Clarke County PD said he will be arrested for reckless driving and racing.

pulled from Patherswire I suspect the passing yards for the year is a mistype lol Panthers owner David Tepper present at meeting with free agent Derek Carr If the Carolina Panthers ultimately chose to make what’ll be a pretty expensive run at Derek Carr, then owner David Tepper should probably get a close-up look at the free-agent quarterback. So, he did. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Tepper was present during the team’s meeting with the 31-year-old passer on Tuesday. Rapoport and colleague Tom Pelissero were the first to report on Carolina’s intentions to talk with Carr at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind. 2022, although the final straw between Carr and Raiders, saw the ninth-year veteran earn his fourth career Pro Bowl nod. He finished the season with a 60.8-percent completion rate and 35,222 passing yards—both the lowest marks since his rookie year in 2014.

Might as well feel hopeful in the off season i mean, why not be optimistic and if you can’t be optimistic in the off season, when can you be the scourge has been banished…a new sheriff is in town -

He was referencing just the NFC South…of course things change but if the coaches and GM do their job, given the state of the saints and Bucs, it’s pretty much Panthers and Falcons in his opinion -

Hooker ? Is that your preference? It could be they trade back in the first or up in the second if he is there… i readily admit I’m not a Levis fan. He shrinks in big moments and is a turnover machine we have a lot of qb evaluation gurus on staff now. I’ll trust what they do, or don’t do…they are getting paid and it’s their longtime employment and reputation at stake….I’ll trust the selection even if they do Levis and that’s a lot for me. the draft will be very interesting and exciting this year….the first two rds anyway. -

Come on now… don’t be so grumpy ….Spring’s coming he did have an entertaining, and. I believe, good take. ….besides he was almost one of our ‘all star’ coaching staff -
this was an interesting segment yesterday. Some of you may have seen it on ESPN he us all aboard the Stroud or AR train…says Panthers could own the South for 10 years. Of course Hasselback chimes in with Garrapolo. Im like, just say ‘no’ on the injury machine that he is https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/28/panthers-espn-dan-orlovsky-nfc-south-qb-nfl-draft/

What has Carr ever done to justify 40 million per year -

raleigh-panther replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have nothing against Derek Carr personally he is an average nfl qb and seems like a decent guy and it is true he played for franchise killer, McDaniels, but he has done nothing to warrant $40 million a year or multiple years plus Let someone else grab that bait He is not worth it draft the qb they want. Have a bridge qb for six games, 10 games, the year.who is competent like Brisset and move on -
Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson
raleigh-panther replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. His body of work is small but what is there, and what is good is outerworldly My feeling is that what he has cannot be taught what he needs to improve on can be taught and the Panthers have teachers others disagree and that’s ok but for me it’s Stroud because he is an already baked cake or it’s AR who could become something very special in a world of Carrs and Tannehills people who think this guy is going to get out of the top 10 are kidding themselves -

From Bleacher Report pulled comment on David Carr only NFL Free Agents Teams Will Regret Spending Big Money On GARY DAVENPORTFEBRUARY 21, 2023 There are two types of teams in the NFL: those who already have a franchise quarterback and those who do not. Teams in the latter group will talk themselves into doing some wacky stuff—see: Carson Wentz over the last two seasons. The New York Jets have already kicked the tires this offseason on Derek Carr. The New Orleans Saints have been linked to the 31-year-old as well. Those won't be the only two teams who take a run at Carr. The more teams that show interest, the bigger his contract is likely to get. But whichever team hands Carr a truck full of cheddar is likely to get Wentz'd. Last year, Carr was 14th leaguewide in passing yards (3,522), which is neither terrible nor great. However, he was 30th in completion percentage (60.8), 24th in passer rating (86.3), tied for third in interceptions (14) and tied for 18th in yards per attempt (7.0). Those numbers shouldn't inspire any team to hand Carr a contract worth $40-plus million annually. And make no mistake, that's entirely possible. Spotrac estimates his new deal will average $37.7 million per season. For his career, Carr is 16 games below .500 as a starter and has made one postseason start in nine years. In other words, while Carr may not be a bad quarterback, he isn't an especially good one, either. And handing him $35-$40 million a season is a risky bet.
