Use a lead blocker, get the running game going
raleigh-panther replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve beat the drum for this for 3 weeks now either the HC is a total dumb poo and just can’t figure this out or he simply doesn’t want to… …just like he doesn’t use the TEs..that’s why we carry so ma y if them -
‘ .Injuries in the secondary, when you have Justin Jefferson rolling into town next week, are far from ideal. Troy Hill is quickly emerging as the team's most reliable cornerback. But expecting a 32-year-old to cover arguably the league's best wideout for an entire game is asking for trouble. This leaves Donte Jackson the likely candidate. But as the weeks go by, the decision to extend the player is another issue of contention for general manager Scott Fitterer. The player simply cannot be relied upon in coverage, D.K. Metcalf had six receptions for 112 receiving yards and had his way with Jackson for most of the contest. He was inexplicably beaten by running back Kenneth Walker III on a first and 25 giving Seattle a key first down. To top it all off, Jackson was 'Moss'd' by undrafted free agent Jake Bobo for the final score after being beaten off the line. For context, Bobo ran a five-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.,’

Can anyone tell me why we went to zone blocking?
raleigh-panther replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
One day, this coaching staff will wake up and realize they can’t turn plow horses into racehorses …add to it, with four freakin TE’s, maybe, just maybe, one could be in the backfield to block vs the constant trips right or left countless times, I’ve watched Sanders run straight into the pile when the other side of the line was wide open oh yeah, Chubba, not used…Blackshear not active and Herbert not active Blackshear has burst…it is a total mystery to me. I’ll tell you this, Young isn’t going to survive without a run game ….think he could have taken that hit to the head Dalton did? I don’t. And Andy shouldn’t have to either… Nfl needs to be like college and start ejecting for that foul -
PFF grades after week 3 (not for the faint of heart)

I usually agree with you but when you pay money, you want to see someone capable of a downfield play I hate to be brutally honest, but right now, that does not appear to be Young Doesn’t matter the reason there is no harm in him sitting until that oline is not putrid either or, I should say, a better degree of putrid or Reich learns having a fullback or TE in the backfield isn’t a bad play either. For god’s sake, we have 4 TEs right Reich also has Chubba and Blackshear…god forbid he use them -

It gets a non vacant stadium of panthers fans it gets the team off the losing streak it gets young a chance to watch and learn how to throw to his receivers it keeps him from getting killed until the RG returns I’m not sure even Corbett can fix that as far as the run game, that needs the starting guard back too and two backs starting who aren’t It’s not hard to see -
CJ Stroud: I’m a football player, not a test taker
raleigh-panther replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Quoting the great Bill Parcells ’you are what your record says you are’ right now,due to injuries, poor scheme, whatever we wish to attribute it to, they flat out suck a whole lot would have to happen for them to reach mediocre status They do not have play makers on one side and no consistent playmakers on the other it’s sad is what it is from a Nfl perspective in life’s garden, however, small potatoes -

So…you are saying the Panthers aren’t the Vikings ‘get well’ game sadly, I believe they are and if the panthers think they can win. Then Dalton needs to start he gets the ball out on time and in rythm when he isn’t killed by the DL -
This is your direct quote ‘The Panthers have been exciting to watch and competitive from 1995 to 2017. It all came to an end when the core of Cam Newton, Jonathan Stewart, Greg Olsen, Ryan Kalil, Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis & Charles Johnson reached the end following 2017.’ now, you cherry pick years. It wasn’t like these coaches had one bad year, they had several….Capers with Collins, Carruth, Greene choking a coach and so on….Siefert was positively horrible for the qb experiment with Jeff Lewis forward…then Fox culminating with passing on QBs like Aaron Rodgers and and Ben and going through how many QBs until Clausen I was at the stadium for most of the earlier games 1996 through 1999 then a PSL owner and duration mercifully ends in 2024. I can assure you there was nothing much entertaining about it

personnel is an issue…a serious one on both sides of the ball…can’t expect any different going from a 3 4 to a 4 3 and then a 1990s offense with said personnel Sadly, this team has not one single playmaker on offense…not one anyone fears and an atrocious offensive line …and it’s not going to change in 2023..that ship has sailed The defense has 3 players…all number 1 picks…one is constantly out…one always disappears after one or two plays a game…one is inconsistent week to week my advice…if you are going to watch, stop caring. …you cannot change one single thing in the nfl… watch more polished teams or go spend time with family and friends

Lol what….you don’t remember the downfall of Capers and the a Seifert era, then the down fall of delhomme and Fox…those were not ‘exciting to watch ‘ It was pathetic

Blame that in 1. Failing in the first offensive series in the second half 2. A very poor coaching decision on that field goal no need to say more -

I’m just really perplexed when they always want the ball in;the second half only to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH IT -
Do we know the Tepper’s made the pick ? or is it conjecture ? I'm no fan of theirs but I don’t think there are facts supporting that
