  1. This is what I would expect if I were Cam, I’d run far, far away from Matt Rhule Far away
  2. Why aren’t they winning ? it is the team Rhule assembled ? The coaches he hired His culture he is trying to establish People say things like ‘the players like him’ blah blah. I don’t give two shakes of a rat’s ass whether they like or they ‘have his back’ or they say nice things about he and his family I don’t care if he helps old people across the street… all great things but his primary job in the NFL is to win and compete in pro football games To date, he sucks at it. i care that they perform and look like a pro team that can, I don’t know, complete a forward pass or get more than two first downs a game or figure out people are getting massive yards running to the left during a game To date, Rhule’s teams have sucked. Players and coaches he selected All the excuses and pablum in the world does not change his record and from a former coach Rhule worked for briefly ‘you are what your record says you are’.
  3. Thank you I apologize for being snippy I think we are all afraid of what Rhule might do with the most important position on the field as he has failed so badly previously. It’s a damned sad situation when a franchise has to depend on Ben McAdo for consultation
  4. Looked. Didn’t see one From the wording, it seemed to me it was post Watson but, being the link monitor gives some posters joy, it seems. So enjoy
  5. Have to hope that the OC has some influence. He supposedly knows QBs pro days are coming up but as the saying goes ‘tape don’t lie’ if someone knows what they are looking at anyway we see Rhule’s interpretation of Darnold
  6. Bottom line Tepper would not guarantee years 3 and 4 of Watson’s contract. Browns did Panthers wouldn’t give Deshaun Watson the contract he wanted. Let’s explore why not BY ELLIS L. WILLIAMS AND JONATHAN M. ALEXANDER EWILLIAMS@CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.COM JALEXANDER@CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.COM 4 hours ago As negotiations for the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes came to the bitter end, his team called the Panthers with a request on Thursday. They asked Carolina if it could guarantee him money on the third and fourth year on his four-year, $156 million deal as part of what would’ve been a blockbuster trade agreement. Those years are not guaranteed as it’s structured now, and the team could move on without much penalty. Representatives for the Panthers declined the unprecedented proposal. Later that night, around 9:10 p.m., they called back. Watson informed the team that he would not waive his no-trade clause for them. It was the final straw in an all-out blitz the Panthers made for the 26-year-old quarterback this month. But in a stunning turn of events, Watson decided to waive his no-trade clause for the Cleveland Browns, who were earlier told they were no longer under consternation. Watson changed his mind when Cleveland agreed to give him a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract, the highest guarantee in NFL history. While Watson was enamored by Carolina’s skill position players — Christian McCaffrey, DJ Moore and Robby Anderson —he preferred the Saints and Falcons, a league source said, and for different reasons. Atlanta was a late addition to the sweepstakes. When they emerged, they became an ideal landing spot. Watson likes the idea of playing for Atlanta because its close to his hometown of Gainesville, Georgia, which is an hour away. As for New Orleans, the feeling was that the Saints nearly made the playoffs last season and featured a more Super Bowl-caliber roster. The Panthers did not. According to Football Outsiders DOVA metric, New Orleans’s defense finished second in efficiency last season. The Panthers ranked 15th. The Saints also feature the NFL’s seventh-best pass-blocking offensive line, according to ESPN’s pass-block win rate metric. Then why did Carolina back away from perhaps its strongest bargaining chip? No one will say. But the answer likely lies in why Watson and Texans were at this point in the first place, one year after he initially made his request to be traded. Watson is still facing 22 civil lawsuits from different massage therapists alleging sexual assault and sexual misconduct. The Panthers felt comfortable enough with his current contract after conducting their own research. The civil lawsuits could take a year or more to resolve, unless he were to settle them out of court. And the NFL is known for taking a while in its investigations. But guaranteeing him two more years before the NFL, which is conducting its own investigation and could suspend him, could be an enormous risk. Let alone the trouble they’d be in if another woman were to accuse him. Watson has asserted his innocence from the beginning. His attorney, Rusty Hardin, told The Observer in an interview that, “He’s a really, really neat human being. And he probably showed bad judgment, maybe by getting involved with all these women, but he didn’t do anything wrong.” It’s also reasonable to ask ‘if the Panthers were comfortable with the first two years, the why not the last two?’ Perhaps risk on his last two could be too great. Now Carolina will move on and search for another quarterback. They’ll spend the $5 million they saved on Robby Anderson’s restructured contract, as well as the other players they restructured, and spend it elsewhere, without the risk.
  7. If they love him so much, they would win for him…have they ? I think Cam had a good statement about ‘many not buying in’ and not understanding the meaning of keep pounding Understand, he’s a guy that never says anything about anybody Rhule is in charge he failed, is failing and will continue to do so
  8. Matt Rhule. The gift that keeps in giving hey Matt. You loved Darnold. Live with him
  9. I think Rhule should have to live, and die Nfl career wise, with his poor decision
  10. Sorry. I am driving it was on pantherscentre feed. They are usually correct
  11. This just came up from bleacher report I know it’s Newton
  12. Pro sports is about winning. It is not about being ‘satisfied’ with what how many winning seasons in soon to be 26 years
  13. Any facts for that claim ? An owner does what he must to right a franchise. these names ring a bell Steve Wilks. George Seifert there are others the Nfl is a different world now the hole Rhule has put the Panthers in is well known and owner enabled it
  14. @scratchedsorry the truth hurts your feelings
  15. Under Tepper, the Panthers don’t win as long as he keeps Rhule, winning at an organizational level, is not going to happen
  16. Story of Watson meeting with Saints for a second time last night, if true, tells the tale again, why would any top level QB want to come play for Matt Rhule …and the poo show he has created here plus treatment if Bridgewater, Darnold, Newton and again Newton and Watson are friends what do you think he told him ? Tepper’s most prized and coveted free agent and all the money he has didn’t bring Watson here it’s not over until the press conference but it sure isn’t looking good for ole Dave
  17. Dennis Allen greater than Matt Rhule….then again, who isn’t having a better coach could have helped as well Not surprising on NO…whole lot of his Kinda massage parlors there
  18. Well, I just read that Watson asked to speak to the Falcons and that he contacted them to see if there was interest at this point, who knows I will say a franchise qb trumps a DE and Safety. The three first round picks wow nothing we can do in any case
