  1. All you have to do is look at the Vegas odds. Stroud is a heavy favorite (I’m in Westgate Sports Book in Vegas right now.). Vegas isn’t wrong. As much as I would be happy with Bryce it’s fairly obvious Stroud will be the pick. Stroud models his game after Brees and Brady and likes getting the ball out fast. That would be a huge, welcome change in the Carolinas and im all for it. Have we ever had a QB like that? I guess Mayfield but he sucked at it. Cam Darnold and Jake all loved holding the ball as long as possible.
  2. Like I said before there’s a real chance Richardson is on his 2nd or 3rd team before he puts it together, like Geno Smith. That’s not a player you draft #1 overall. I would say Richardson is a bit more raw than Fields coming out. I don’t want another run first, first read pass guy. I’m ready for great passing. That is what wins playoff games. Richardson is nowhere near the level of Cam Newton coming out of Auburn. Cam was a true dual threat until he got injured in 16/17.
  3. I think the staff is banking on TMJ breaking out and being the #1, big, star receiver, with Chark in the Ginn role and Thielen in the slot
  4. Not worried about batted passes or height at all, but Young tends to hold on to the ball for a long time to make a bigger play, and it had a tendency to get him crushed a few times at Alabama. Whereas Stroud rarely takes hits becuase he wants the ball out fast
  5. Stroud is elite at reading defenses unlike the OSU quarterbacks before him. He needs to work on accuracy when rolling out of the pocket, but other than that, he has no flaws. I like both Stroud and Young, and we would be very happy with Stroud if he's the pick.
  6. It screams 1990's. Not that that is bad or anything, I love that wordmark. But I doubt they go back to it. Definitely part of the Jurassic Park culture phase that also encapsulated the Toronto Raptors
  7. I'd keep either white or silver, and get rid of the other completely.
  8. Logo is great, but the helmet and uniforms need updating. Black and blue is an iconic logo scheme, no one else in the NFL has it yet we squander it with too much white and silver for no reason
  9. I merely pointed out that size/height has no factor with quarterback injuries, not anything about Drew Brees' super bowl wins or Cam's accuracy
  10. We drafted one of the biggest quarterbacks ever and he was out of the league after 7 years because of a litany of injuries Meanwhile Drew Brees played 20 seasons
  11. I do like that he's had a lot of hardships growing up so it doesn't seem he'd be fazed by adversity Honestly I think we will end up loving both Young and Stroud Edit: Hate that he had the hardships, but like how well he's adapted
  12. Damn CJ is accurate on those deep balls even with a split second to look and see where the receiver is
  13. I would say Stroud has an elite arm. Again, he plays a lot like Dak Prescott. In the next month he needs to prove he can move around outside the pocket and still connect with dead-on accuracy to be the pick... I do believe the Panthers are seriously considering Young as the best prospect because of his elite out of the pocket ability, which is one of the things that translates into superstardom in the NFL. That said, Stroud is still a good #1 pick because of his elite ball placement and throw velocity. I think we can win with either.
  14. In the Hurts draft I thought he was underrated and failed to see why everyone considered him a 2nd round QB at the max, the dude was a born winner and was going to make it work. Same with Hooker. Teams at the end of the 1st that need a future QB would be very dumb to pass on him. He should not make it past Tampa at 19
  15. I don't buy the injury risk argument Cam Newton only lasted 7 seasons until he had career ending injuries, and he is 6' 5' 240 Daunte Culpepper struggled with injuries too Drew Brees at barely 6 foot didn't. Neither did Russell Wilson. Any body type can struggle with injuries, some people just don't get injured while others are always injury prone (Matt Corral) Take the NBA, Giannis is almost 7 feet, never gets injured. LeBron too, didn't get any major injuries for his first 16 NBA seasons. Iverson was under 6 feet and never got injured. Then you have a bunch of players between 6 and 7 foot that are always injured, like Oden, Zion, Jonathan Isaac, MKG, etc. Durability is 40% what you were born with, 40% taking elite care of your body, and 20% being smart. LeBron, Russell Wilson, Kobe took painstaking care of their bodies from an early age, hiring their own training staff, doing their own training regiment and diet, getting plenty of sleep, etc. Some players just don't care about that.
  16. I think its fairly obvious the Panthers are trying to squeeze a high pick out of the Texans for Young
  17. I’d settle for a 2024 and 2025 2nd. I think you can’t go wrong with either QB.
  18. I like all the signings (20% overpaid on most but understandable because we had to reach for them) except Hurst. I feel like we should have spent the 2nd rounder on one of these tight ends and saved the Hurst money for a decent 2nd corner. The corner market was not as expensive this go around. I really wish we didn't waste all that money on Donte.
  19. Chark, TMJ, Thielen is a very solid trio and much better than what we had last year
  20. I really like Thielen, his experience in the WR room would be invaluable for TMJ and Shi, not just whatever quarterback we take
  21. I'm not worried about his size at all in terms of throwing the football and operating as a QB, only worried for injury risk. It's about how much strength he can add to his frame and his awareness to get down/avoid lots of contact
  22. Why do we need a new "We have no WR" thread every day? Just wait til next offseason is the answer to your question
  23. As someone who has followed the team closely my entire life, including the bad Bobcats years, the problem is that MJ did not invest into the basketball infrastructure - scouting, analytics, training staff, assistant staff - like most other NBA teams. That is a clear money issue. That coupled with the fact he has a bunch of yes men friends that have been helping him run the team for a long time means we are well behind the rest of the NBA. Someone like Tepper who comes in and invests a lot to get the team back up to speed, pay an adequate salary to a good GM and coaching staff, etc. will very much help the franchise.
  24. There's a rumor going around that Michael Jordan is selling the Hornets to try to be a part of the Commanders ownership group and the figurehead
  25. Agree with this, aside from Bell, the others were market overpays by 20-30%. I really don't like paying that much for a tight end that isn't Kelce, Gronk, Olsen tier. Much rather would have saved the money for next offseason and get more high impact players. I mean is going from Thomas to Hurst really going to buy you extra wins this season with that contract?
