  1. What I meant is he needs a Darnold Viking support system. I think Canales is the man and we finally have a coach, but we don't have a defense and are a few weapons short. Lawrence demeanor is strikingly similar to Darnold.
  2. Lawrence is a rich man's Darnold. He'll be decent in 4-5 years. We don't have the team for him yet (or the salary cap)
  3. I mean a first, sure, but he's worth more than a 2nd. Sorry He has the talent to be a true #1 and we've seen that the last two games
  4. Am I crazy for thinking Dalton can perform at a Cousins level for the next 3 years and maybe punt this class and go defense instead? Grab the future QB in 2026 and still sit a year under Dalton
  5. We're (Blowing Rock) focusing on Linville/Newland now and asking for donations of blankets, coats, sleeping bags, and camping gear as its about to get cold. I've been cooking daily for the lineman and town workers. They've been working 7am-7pm every day since the storm, brutal. Finally got power back at our house last night
  6. i’m going to have to get a generator i guess. there’s been no progress on our road. which is totally fine because they need to help out the more remote areas first and get basic infrastructure working. the support has been incredible in Watauga County. asked a search team on facebook to hike up to a family that works for my restaurant that we haven’t heard from since friday and they got up there and gave them food and water. The police and fireman here have been very accepting of outside help. I’m saddened to hear it’s not the same in other places.
  7. I’m still without power. haven’t really been keeping up with the Panthers or news. absolutely crazy scenes, it’s like something you’d see on the walking dead. im safe and don’t need anything, im just sad for the poor people that live outside of town limits in all these towns that have to start over. many didn’t see it coming. don’t care to watch the news and didn’t believe it.
  8. This is the Tepper Panthers. There is no absurdity safe with the bad luck and mojo around this team. I'm over Bryce Young as much as anyone. I'm just keeping it real.
  9. Brown being out for the year is a major bummer. Better running teams are going to keep us off the field. If Brown was still here I'd be a lot more optimistic about the playoffs. I do think our offense is better than half the league, Canales knows what he's doing. Guys were open and blocking all three games
  10. As much as you guys want to get rid of Bryce, his value to us isn't lower than a 2nd round pick. If the Panthers trade him for a 3rd round or worse pick, he will undoubtedly come back to bite us in the ass and play super well. 2nd round pick, sure, get him out of here. But we bust so much on later picks that there's no point because we still eat the cap charge
  11. i just need 20 yards from Theilen somehow and i win my panthers passing parlay for 620 dollars. please get back in the game Adam
  12. Saints have the look of a 2015 Panthers team. Not the same ceiling because Carr is not Cam, but they will go 14-3 or better I think. They just have it all put together randomly on both sides of the ball like we did in 2015 coming off a mediocre 2014.
  13. Like Reich, Canales is going to come out and drop back Andy 50+ times just to prove that it was Bryce and not the offense. On Draftkings I bet $20 on a parlay of - Dalton 250+ yards - Dalton 2+ TD's - Thielen 50+ yards - D. Johnson 70+ yards to win $680 dollars. Because I believe the team is that frustrated and why not. We may not win, but they are going to throw the ball all over the place
  14. It's entirely plausible that the Panthers aren't as bad as we think and Bryce just made everyone around him so much worse that he drug them down to the worst team in the NFL. The defense for sure isn't as good as previous years, but I have a feeling that competent QB play will revitalize all the players on both sides of the ball and we suddenly look like an average 8-9 team
  15. come on, Bryce has been way worse this year than last year. it’s not a fair comparison. Bryce wasn’t afraid last year to step up in the pocket. This year he looks so defeated and broken and isn’t even trying to look downfield
  16. As it is with any coach, even Belichick, if you have literal crap at QB, you look terrible. The Pats looked terrible last year. I'm not a Tepper fan by any means, he has been the sole source of the problem since he bought the team, however I don't think he's an idiot who will continue to do this forever, nor do I think he made the decision to bench Bryce. I also wasn't a fan of retaining Dan, but his additions have been decent so far and he's been aggressive in improving the back end of the roster. I went to the game on Sunday, Canales would have to be an absolute moron to watch what happened, watch the other players reactions, etc. and then continue to stick with Bryce another week. Canales ain't dumb. He gave Bryce a chance because of his draft status, he was possibly the worst QB the NFL has seen since Nathan Peterman with no improvement whatsoever, so he pulled the plug because he wants to give the team a chance to win, as he should. I guess you can blame Canales for not "saving" Bryce, but some people are beyond saving. Bryce didn't care this offseason, doesn't care on the field, realized he doesn't have the ability to play QB, and is mentally broken to the point he won't throw it to wide open receivers. If Carolina is 0-5 and still getting blown out every week, then yes I will agree with you on Canales. Literally no coach would win with Bryce.
  17. Um, I mean if you watch the All 22, we have receivers open every play, some wide open as heck, the O-line is blocking well, and Evero is in complete control of the defense. I think Bryce has been just that bad. Like a Malik Willis who can't even run or scramble. I'm giving Canales more than just 2 games of whatever the heck that was from Bryce, who has clearly lost all mental fortitude
  18. I think Dave and Dan are going to get a lot of time to get this fixed. Tepper is one of those people that is going to learn through trial and error. He's largely stayed out of it this offseason and season. Unfortunately these are the growing pains. I don't believe he is the MJ type of meddler that ruined the Hornets for 16 years.
  19. The reason its so hard to evaluate QB's because "mental fortitude and toughness" is such a huge part of what makes a QB successful and you can't measure that based on college tape and interviews. For Bryce, he completely lost it over the course of the last year. Yes, he's small and doesn't have the biggest arm. But even with that he could be a competent NFL QB. He's completely broken mentally, so he is the worst QB in the NFL. Situation has a lot to do with that as well. It's why I don't buy that CJ Stroud would be this good as we are seeing tonight if he was drafted here instead. This isn't the NBA where a superstar can go somewhere else and be just as good. NFL has a ton of moving parts.
  20. Because its true. EVERY QB in the draft is a total coinflip. There has never been a sure thing. That includes lucky flips like Stroud, Cam Newton, and Josh Allen, and unlucky flips like Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Sam Darnold There's not a single team in the NFL that can accurately draft QB's. Even the 49ers wiffed horribly on Trey Lance recently
  21. I believe this is a smokescreen. This isn't he first time a coach has said "Player X is our QB" and then he is promptly benched. My guess is he wants the Raiders to prep for Bryce and then switch to Dalton. Or give Bryce one more game, and if its more of the same then go with Dalton week 4. I was at the game with good seats behind the Panthers bench. The players aren't going to take much more of this. Diontae Johnson already looks ready to kill and Thielen and Moton were visibly angry as well.
  22. Drafting a QB is a total coin flip. There's no science to it. Panthers had bad luck and will flip the coin again. They could have taken Fields and lost that coin flip. Caleb Williams could still be bad. Everyone thought Darnold and Gabbert were prototypical QB's that were sure things.
  23. I'm going. Got tickets on the 50 yard line a while ago and its fun to live bet/keep up with fantasy during the game, even i the Panthers suck.
  24. LOL ROTFLMAO This garbage team beat the playoff Texans last year, like I said anything is possible and people should really learn from overreacting from week 1 by now
  25. You guys are crazy if you think Tepper would prefer to lose with Bryce than play Dalton. Winning is everything. Tepper wouldn't give two shits about Bryce if Dalton came in and started winning. Tepper is as tired of the losing as we are. He'll do anything it takes to start winning games
