  1. I'd say its more than likely the first 5 picks of the 2nd are already decided, teams usually call around and have feelers in spots like this I just think its a huge mistake passing on a center when both JPJ and Frazier project to be 10 year starters from the get go. Especially when you have a QB like Bryce who relies so much on inside OL play
  2. Cooper or Frazier are my best gets. This will be Shaq's last year and Cooper is skilled enough to probably be starting by week 5 and lord knows we need linebackers who can cover the middle of the field
  3. Lots of good players left. No way we double dip at WR but the amount of good WR available will help our chances at getting a starter provided we stay at 39 S Cooper DeJean - probably not a fit here WR Adonai Mitchell CB Kool-Aid McKinstry ILB Edgerrin Cooper WR Ladd McConkey C Jackson Powers-Johnson C Zach Frazier ILB Payton Wilson WR Keon Coleman WR Malachi Corley EDGE Marshawn Kneeland CB Max Melton
  4. Bills have actually drafted very badly aside from lucking into Josh Allen..its why they are in the position they are in
  5. Praying that Frazier is there at 39, but it seems obvious with all the talent on the board that we are trading down to get that 5th back
  6. Panthers sure do telegraph their picks. Charlie Campbell 6 in a row despite having the 33rd pick
  7. We kept 33 lol Edit: NM. they were slow to change
  8. Second time Roger has slurred his words
  9. 5 QB's in the top 10, history says 3 bust at least, likely 4. These teams playing with fire
  10. I would gamble with Barton or Frazier at 33, Cooper or Wilson at 39, and use the 3rd and later picks to trade up to the 2nd again and take whoever falls out of Franklin, Ladd, Pearsall, or Legette in that order. Three starters.
  11. History says 3 out of the top 5 QB's taken will bust and definitely one of the top 3. If you're Minnesota would you rather have JJ McCarthy and lose 2 other firsts or Nix and have 2 extra firsts? Makes no sense to me
  12. And? So they hit only Kupp and Nacua out of all the WR's they drafted in the last 10 years? So did we I guess? (Moore and Benjamin before he gave up his 4th year in the L) Doesn't change my stance that scouting and drafting WR's are heavily based on getting lucky. The only teams that you could say are above average at drafting WR talent are the Seahawks and Steelers, and even then they draft plenty of busts as well. (Sammie Coates, James Washington, Chase Claypool to name a few recently)
  13. Drafting a WR is a total crapshoot and based on luck. 1 in 5 work out. No amount of NFL Scouting or a talented front office can change that. The Rams got lucky with Puka Nacua, its not like they are elite in scouting and better than everyone else. I mean they just took Tutu Atwell in the 2nd and Jacob Harris in the 4th and both likely won't be reupped when their contracts run out. Same with QB's. Its why there doesn't need to be so much freaking time between the SB and the NFL Draft. You could hold the NFL Draft at the end of March and teams don't know any more poo than they do now.
  14. I'm well aware of our sucky pass catchers. I should have clarified. No room to develop two rookies along with trying to develop Mingo and ISM. No way we keep three first and second year receivers on the active roster and expect them to produce. Now maybe a flyer on someone in the 5th or later, but double dipping in the 2nd is stupid and it means you are giving up on Mingo basically who we just drafted with a high 2nd last year.
  15. No room to take two WR's IMO, with Mingo and ISM locked up for next year. We need the center, LB, CB, or edge more.
  16. Thielen will be fine if we had two other receivers that drew coverage. He's a 3rd and 4th down chains mover at this point in his career
  17. From Campbell: " Some team sources said they think there could be more trade movement in this year’s draft compared to typical years. They shared they believe this movement could start in the middle of the first round, stretch into late in Round 1, and then continue throughout the second day of the 2024 NFL Draft. The reason for the expected fluidity is teams feeling there is a lack of talent on Day 3 of the draft thanks to the influence of NIL in college football and more players getting paid to stay in school. That has weakened the talent depth of the draft, leaving teams believing that third-day picks have less value. Some sources from playoff teams felt that there is a good chance that the players they would get on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft would have a very hard time making their final 53-man roster, so rather than use the pick on a player who is likely to get cut, they could use the pick to move up in the early rounds. This year’s draft has the potential to be one with a lot of trades, starting on the opening night of the draft." I've always been under the idea that 5-7th round picks are worthless and should be used to trade up. Especially for the Panthers UDFA's have the same or better impact than 5-7th round picks
  18. I think this is postering to get AD Mitchell to fall and another team interested in Legette But the Panthers have typically telegraphed their moves, shown over multiple front offices, so unless he goes earlier Legette is likely the pick
  19. I don't think the centers last to 39, but several WR's will be there. Just makes too much sense to take one of the top centers at 33
  20. Charlie has called the last 7 Panthers first round picks correct, including us taking Horn when almost no one else even considered that. Obviously 33 is a bit different because there are 32 picks ahead and random variables with trades up, etc. But he has us taking Xavier Legette at 33. Which suggests the noise around the Panthers and Legette is real (unfortnuately)
  21. Why on earth would we trade a starting level talent at 39 for two developmental special teamers at 54 and 85
  22. Frazier is my draft darling. 10 year starter from day 1 and can anchor the line. We need him so bad that I'm sure we'll pass on him twice
  23. charlie campbell who is usually very well in tuned with the panthers even through owner and GM changes has us targeting a WR and CB in the 2nd round. So its not far off, however I would hate passing on one of the top 3 centers in this class when we have the opportunity to make our interior OL super solid
  24. Ladd at 33, Zach Frazier at 39. Perfect draft I think Ladd will bulk up. I know that's his biggest weakness, but he just is always open like Puka Nacua. We desperately need a player like that and if Dionte Johnson has a good season, that should give Bryce three targets in the mid range Frazier has a chance to be the best center IMO and should start from day 1. Just super solid technique and with added power/strength in NFL conditioning no reason why he can't be Ryan Kalil. Also would accept JPJ and AD Mitchell. Not too high on Worthy or Legette, but if available in the 3rd I would think about it.
