Remember in the 2020 draft Justin Jefferson was the fifth receiver selected. Henry Ruggs, Jalen Reagor, and Jerry Jeudy were selected ahead of him. Every year there are WR's selected high who bust. Nobody really knows, not even NFL scouts. XL could absolutely be better than either Marvin Harrion, Nabers or Rome.

Walterfootball has 3 QB's in the top 5 for 2025. I know things change during the season but theres a good chance Aller and Sanders will be better. If the Panthers are picking top 2 again, they are taking a QB. Comeon now

The draft is very luck based. Teams can consistently draft archetype players to succeed in right situations like the Steelers and Ravens but in reality its a coinflip whether any player in the 3rd thru 7th rounds is an NFL player. Doesn't matter who you take. There's probably an alternate universe where Eric Shelton was a pro-bowl RB for the Packers and Joe Adams lead the league in kickoff/punt TD's for 3 straight years

Panthers Select Chau Smith-Wade DB - Round 5, Pick 157
amcoolio replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Walterfootball had him as a 3rd round prospect -
Good pick. How far back is ESPN? Panthers picked 5 minutes ago

It's gonna be a miracle if Bryce balls out, not because of his perceived skill level, but because the talent on offense is based on hopes and dreams and snails and puppy dog tails. Even with "all the additions", this would be considered a pretty poor offensive cast around Joe Burrow or Josh Allen. A fringe 1st round WR that in every scouting report is deemed raw, a RB that probably won't play til October, and a 4th round TE isn't going to change his fortunes. Only one in eight billion people in the entire world (Mahomes) can succeed with such a poor offensive cast. The Panthers are just house poor because of all the terrible trades in the Fitterer era

I know it’s earlt but Dan THE MAN Morgan is IMPRESSING me
amcoolio replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only good thing he's done is get a 2nd next year. But with the same picks (and the 2025 2nd) you could have had Cooper DeJean, AD Mitchell and Junior Colson.... or Keon Coleman, Zach Frazier and Payton Wilson/Colson.... Just seem like the ability to grab three impact guys was there and we reached at all 3 picks becuase we fell in love with all three picks and had extreme tunnelvision Like can you imagine if we came out of the first three rounds of this draft, without having a first round pick, and added: A 2025 Rams 2nd, Cooper DeJean, AD Mitchell and Junior Colson? Instead, we are "thoughts and prayers" hoping that Legette can put it together and Brooks stays healthy enough to have a good season in 2025 -
Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
amcoolio replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you took a poll on this website every time we were on the clock the last 5 years, I guarantee the poll winner would have outperformed the actual picks we've made. The drafts have been that bad. -

When has that ever worked out for us? -
Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
amcoolio replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've seen some bad drafts in my close to 30 years as fan, but this is a doozy. All three of these picks are straight out of the Fitterer playbook. We need players who can get on the field and play. Not raw athletes with physical tools that haven't put it together yet.- 285 replies

So we reached on another LB with good athletic tools but raw and no set position? Why?
-
Oh by the way, Benson lasted til our 3rd rounder, and there's virtually no difference between Benson and Brooks other than Jerry Jones wanted Brooks and the Panthers freaked out. Just take the freaking starter, be it Frazier or Rakestraw, in the 2nd, man.

Does Bryce have any further excuses for this upcoming year?
amcoolio replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes he does Sh!tty fuging front office and owner Poor guy needed to go to Texans to have NFL career -
This is one of the worst arguments I've ever seen on this board. Teams with the best offensive lines win, period. Brooks won't have any more impact than Kareem Hunt would have if we just signed Hunt. Or if we just waited to the 4th to take MarShawn Lloyd
-
Maybe they thought Frazier was too tall at 6'3"?? Idk, I would rather have that and then Benson in the 3rd if you reeeealy need a RB than what this bad alternative is.
-
I just don't get this team. I honestly believe fans are better at picking than the team. Banging the drum for Frazier, we pass. And you just know center is going to be a problem this year and the team will make excuses. Same with banging the drum for Creed Humphry a few years ago, and Trey Smith in the 6th round and we took a freaking longsnapper
-
They will probably get their ILB or CB at 52, but damn the centers were right there. I pray Frazier lasts til 52 but he probably won't or will pass on him and then Corbett will be out for the season by Week 3 and Morgan and Co. will say "well, injuries were tough this year" as the excuse
-
We did not get 52. We traded out completely. LOL Edit nm, NFL network was wrong
-
13 slots, better have picked up a 3rd or next years 2nd
-
Because waiting 10 extra minutes for picks for this terrible fluff is awful

Revisiting the Bryce Young trade…. Don’t open this thread
amcoolio replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looking back at it I don't see why we had to include a player. What were the Bears gonna do, say no? Stay at 1 after just taking a QB? The Raiders wouldn't have had a better offer. Fitterer and his panicky weak stomach just had to panic. -
Pretty Rickey on a Deebo to Carolina Trade
amcoolio replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pretty Rickey also said the Pats were going to take McCarthy or trade down to take him at 6 and that very clearly wasn't in the cards at all, so it's hard to take him seriously -
Charlie has DeJean and Kool-aid falling past the Panthers where they take a different corner, Missouri's Rakestraw. The huddle would explode. If DeJean makes it to 39 you have to take him just because we need smart instinctive football players on the team and less "athletic beasts that hopefully you can mold into a football player" types.
