I love the impatience of the huddle, and the constant "I'm done with this team" posts when you guys know damn well as soon as we pick top 3 next year and take a franchise QB you will all be back and pretend like it never happened, just like with Cam in 2011
-
Not a shock he wants to be as close to home as possible after this drama
-
Willis is barely 6 foot. I'm all for taking the upside pick, but lets stop acting like this is a Cam scenario. You have to be exceptionally talented as an NFL QB at 6 foot tall, and I just don't see it, especially since if we take him, we will suck and be in line for a top 3 pick, and next year has 3 really good quarterbacks
-
Its simple, you tank for a year then have a cleaner cap sheet, new coach and one of the top 3 quarterbacks That's why if you take Willis or whatever now, its a wasted pick becuase the top 3 quarterbacks next year are way, way, better and a much higher chance to succeed that anything you take this draft

I would be ecstatic with any of Neal, Ekwonu, Hutchinson, Thibs, Walker, or Cross. Math says one of them should be there at 6. However we have a lot of holes so its a near certainty we trade down if we keep the pick to get a 2nd rounder back. They'll spin it as getting Darnold for free

The Saints are using dummy years in contracts to flush cap hits?
amcoolio replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's just math. Whenever the cap doesn't go up again, or New Orleans decides they can't win anymore, they will have 70-80% of their cap in dead money and will field an all UDFA/street free agent team and be absolutely horrible for probably two years and then have a clean cap. It's not that bad a move actually -
We don't know what is going on. The media likes to report anything sensationalist to get clicks, even if its mostly false or in Fox News case always false so it's best to not get worked up about it with statements like "threaten to walk away". If Watson does go somewhere else, we still have our 1st round picks and still have cap room, its not all doom and gloom. Once again, Tepper has done everything possible to get a NFL caliber QB here so obviously he and Fitt are going to keep trying and they'll always be opportunities, even if it takes a few years. Contrast that to the Lions who haven't given a poo in 50 years

Most of you have the patience of a 2 year old, you might just want to step away from the internet, jesus christ

Panthers close to deal with G Austin Corbett

I'm guessing 3 years 23 million based on other guard signings today -

Hmm, I was told "no one wanted to come here because Rhule and Tepper"? -
Panthers sign S Xavier Woods (3 years, 15.75m)

Chinn needs to be at OLB. This has nothing to do with Chinn We filled a need so we don't have to use one of our few picks in the draft on a safety -
Honest Question: Why would Watson choose Carolina?
amcoolio replied to Billy Love's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because the majority of players in the NFL don't give a poo about the huddle's butthurt feelings on Rhule and Tepper -
Again, you literally just described the Bengals last year and look what season they had Conversely, take teams like Cleveland or Denver, who have "really deep, well rounded" teams and look at the year they just had. A lot of you are severely short sighted. An infusion of actual, meaningful QB play can do wonders for a franchise, especially the weapons we already have on offense. Our defense was on the field way too much and constantly put in shitty situations and still had a good year. Our offensive line can be tweaked and we have some decent pieces there already. Even if we trade for Watson we have enough to land a left guard in free agency and next year the cap opens up quite a bit.

The Panthers have a lot of leaks coming from our staff
amcoolio replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, Rivera was just as leaky. Its a front office thing, probably started with Hurney. It was revealed weeks before the draft that the Panthers were desperate for Brian Burns and he was the clear #1 on their board, and that was still the old regime Edit: Same with Little in that draft, Panthers were taking him if Burns wasn't there, and then after round 1 it was leaked that the Panthers were trying to trade up for Little -
Deshaun Watson won't face criminal charges
amcoolio replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Zac Taylor was considered really bad and on the hot seat to get fired before this season, almost exactly like Rhule -
Deshaun Watson won't face criminal charges

How do you know that? Cincinnati's roster was awful last year and I'd say they turned it around quick. They even still have some glaring holes. There are other examples as well. -

All these guys will flip the switch and be "optimism posters" as soon as we have a winning streak, and deny they ever hated the team, it's a huddle trope. The same doomsday people in this thread were 100% behind Darnold and Rhule after week 3, go look up their post histories
