  1. I think its fairly obvious the Panthers are trying to squeeze a high pick out of the Texans for Young
  2. I’d settle for a 2024 and 2025 2nd. I think you can’t go wrong with either QB.
  3. I like all the signings (20% overpaid on most but understandable because we had to reach for them) except Hurst. I feel like we should have spent the 2nd rounder on one of these tight ends and saved the Hurst money for a decent 2nd corner. The corner market was not as expensive this go around. I really wish we didn't waste all that money on Donte.
  4. Chark, TMJ, Thielen is a very solid trio and much better than what we had last year
  5. I really like Thielen, his experience in the WR room would be invaluable for TMJ and Shi, not just whatever quarterback we take
  6. I'm not worried about his size at all in terms of throwing the football and operating as a QB, only worried for injury risk. It's about how much strength he can add to his frame and his awareness to get down/avoid lots of contact
  7. Why do we need a new "We have no WR" thread every day? Just wait til next offseason is the answer to your question
  8. As someone who has followed the team closely my entire life, including the bad Bobcats years, the problem is that MJ did not invest into the basketball infrastructure - scouting, analytics, training staff, assistant staff - like most other NBA teams. That is a clear money issue. That coupled with the fact he has a bunch of yes men friends that have been helping him run the team for a long time means we are well behind the rest of the NBA. Someone like Tepper who comes in and invests a lot to get the team back up to speed, pay an adequate salary to a good GM and coaching staff, etc. will very much help the franchise.
  9. There's a rumor going around that Michael Jordan is selling the Hornets to try to be a part of the Commanders ownership group and the figurehead
  10. Agree with this, aside from Bell, the others were market overpays by 20-30%. I really don't like paying that much for a tight end that isn't Kelce, Gronk, Olsen tier. Much rather would have saved the money for next offseason and get more high impact players. I mean is going from Thomas to Hurst really going to buy you extra wins this season with that contract?
  11. What pros? I like Sanders but come on, he's like CMC? He doesn't line up out wide and doesn't run wheel routes or go over the middle or anything like that. He caught very few passes last year. CMC is a rare specimen
  12. Sanders and CMC could not be more different In no way do you want Sanders out wide Sanders is like a better Hubbard in terms of play style
  13. Golden State Warriors were crap before they sold. Bucks too. It just takes the right smart, rich owner.
  14. The Hornets are so far behind a lot of the NBA when it comes to infrastructure. Look at the Greensboro Swarm - they have a horrendous franchise record, there are no resources invested in that at all. That said, MJ has been good on the business side. People forget how atrocious Bob Johnson and the Bobcats were. No TV deal, no sponsors, no connection to the community. MJ fixed all that. In part why he's in for a big payday.
  15. Exactly two days ago no one on this entire board would be calling Miles Sanders an elite RB or a target in free agency. Last offseason the Philly media wanted to move on from him becuase he was declining. Philly had an incredible year and Miles had a good year, but Miles didn't really improve as a pass catcher and there was a lot less attention on him with all of Philly's weapons. As I said on page 2 or so of this thread, I like the signing and he can be a #1 back for us, but then when I saw the money, I thought we overpaid by quite a bit. 4/25 is a lot of money for someone like him. But hopefully there's an out after this year or next in case he doesn't live up to expectations. I'm guessing we paid 20-30% above market value to get him to come here over stay in Philly
  16. I will miss having the GOAT as owner, but he wasn't putting the required resources in the team...There were several reports that head coaches passed up our offers becuase we didn't want to pay assistants. We were the exact opposite of Tepper and the Panthers. These two guys in Woj's report...they aren't rich at all. I surely hope that some mega rich guy comes in an blows MJ away with an offer
  17. You didn't bother me, I wasn't singling you out, sorry if it seemed that way Foreman just got 3 million... Jamaal Williams who just had 17 TD just got 4 million...I am just in the camp that unless you are CMC, Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles... that level of RB, I'd rather not have a big contract for a RB considering how replaceable RB's are in the league right now...as evidenced that very few if at all are drafted in the 1st round. Every dollar counts in the NFL, and I wanted to be more flexible next offseason in a much better class of free agents Same with Hurst....it is a lot of money for a tight end that I'm not sure will ultimately make a big difference in terms of wins....we are gambling on both Sanders and Hurst that they improve to be much better than their new contracts. It's possible I suppose.
  18. Why do people take such offense to facts on this forum over 6 million a year is a lot of money for a running back that doesn't catch many passes and is very streaky. I'm well aware of Miles' production, I said initially I liked the signing, but when the money came out we overpaid. It's not like I'm the only person with this opinion
  19. I doubt even the GM and coach know who they are going until about 2 weeks before It seems we lock in on a player about 1-2 weeks out, as the last 5 1st round picks of ours have been leaked 1-2 weeks out
  20. Its a lot of money for a non-elite RB. I hope we don't regret it
  21. Just wait til next offseason when the FA class is good and we have a lot of money. Don't like giving up more assets
  22. Not in love with the money, hopefully the guaranteed is lower or there is an out after this year or next
  23. They'll likely piece it together this year and go after one in FA next year. No big deal DJ Moore isn't some vaccum, in fact I feel like we forced it his way becuase he was a "#1 guy". His receptions will spread to different receivers this year (whoever we sign, TMJ, Higgins, Shi Smith, Hurst, etc.)
  24. He was good last year. Philly hasn't used him right since they've had him. He's a legit #1 3 down back, even if he only lasts a few seasons
  25. I would still like to move on from Henderson and get a good #2 CB. DJ isn't reliable enough to be a #2.
