  1. You actually make a solid point. Picking a player over size or too small can be a issue. Picking a player like Morant you got a superstar.
  2. People forget he was drafted by the chargers and it took him years to figure out how to get around his lack of size. If we take Young, he will be gone in a couples years and become good year 6. We dont have time to wait around 6 years to figure that out. He we someone who can deliver the ball and high accuracy. That something that develops very quickly with the playbook and knowing your receivers.
  3. if anything he shouldve learned by now is whoever he wants pick opposite.
  4. man if tepper doesnt stop thinking feelings wins championships. i swear...
  5. Man its about accuracy fo me fup the rest of this other stuff. Stroud throws darts and in stride. Give me Stroud.
  6. IMO, I'd rather have the player that played all the games except GA that averaged almost 300 yards passing. Id rather he not scramble but only if he has to but showed you he can. Young tries to scramble he will break apart like a lego.
  7. MJ also had a better career but botched on draft picks so that point is useless. Give me the guy with accuracy and great footwork. I want a great QB who can throw it on a dime and in stride.
  8. And these talks about CJ had better receivers. Yes, they are better because someone knows how to put the ball in their hands. You put a crappy QB on OSU and guess what. You'll say the receivers are garbage. We have good enough WR in Carolina. Stroud will excel.
  9. McCown has played QB and so has Reich. They know what they need and its Stroud.
  10. We wont care until the season ends and we are either drafting #1 again or in the playoffs.
  11. It comes down to which ones are more fixable. Ill take the one that struggles on the left. Minor correction fixes that. Long passes only get harder in the NFL. I wouldnt mind neither but Stroud is just better with his ball placement.
  12. I thought he threw well too. But regardless of trash receivers or not, he has been throwing to those receivers the whole year and should be familiar with their speeds. So he doesn't get a pass for missing from me.
  13. I swear the Panthers are treating this like they are on the Batchelor and doing home interviews.
  14. Its Stroud for me. His footwork is better. His throwing motion is better. I like young too but sometimes his footwork isnt good on his throws. Young size didnt effect him in college but NFL is different. Dont know if itll translate over well.
  15. I tried to say this but they wouldn't listen. The line doesnt get any smaller in the NFL and the defenses are more complex. It will take time for him to develop the traits needed. That scrambling stuff doesnt work as well in the NFL. They are a much more disciplined in gap assignments and he may be a magician in college but that dont always translate to success in the NFL unless your on Mike Vick level.
  16. Its not a matter of why, its a matter of how long? Remember it took Brees awhile to be able to understand, adapt and master his game based on his size. He had to throw quick. Bryce extends plays, Brees took time to work work the pocket but he needed a great Oline to do so. Our Oline may not be able to do that. So there is alot of key factors when size is a issue. For Young to thrive the Oline has to be solid and be able to create windows for him. I just dont think we have that. Stroud would be a better option even if Young is better. We dont have the pieces for Young to be like that here.
  17. This is what Im saying and its not a knock on Bryce. He is great for college but the NFL is just another beast and I dont know if itll translate as quick as people hope for. I think Stroud can come in and be immediate because of his accuracy, size and ability to go through progessions fast and deliver a accurate pass.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8IzuFdIz4M Great footwork and accurate throws in stride.
  19. NFL, these boys are taught to put their hands up and there is limited windows because the coverages are more complex. College is alot more spread out where windows are there but NFL is much more disciplined when it comes to coverage. Make no mistake, Im not saying Bryce isnt good. But size does matter when throwing slants and seeing them when they are available. So really my biggest concern about Bryce is how long will it take for him to be able to manuever the pocket to create viewing gaps to deliver the ball and can our o line be good enough to create those windows for him. Its alot to ask when you can get a 6'4" QB who is just as good but not have to worry about that as much and durability
  20. You need a one in all package, size, strength, accuracy, motivation all that you guys have said. But you dont want to get someone that is under sized that cant throw over 6'7" dlineman and we all know the NFL is faster, more complex and requires more time to read the defense and more hits on the QB. You need a QB that is bigger and can see over the line.
  21. Like I said if we are talking about size. The better pick is CJ Stroud. AR hasnt proven enough to eve be a consideration. He is big and definitely can throw over the line and be durable but he has been spotty and would need work. Panthers dont have time for that
  22. Or even better yet. These D lineman are 6'6" and he gets balls batted down. College success and motivation is great but it dont transfer to the NFL. Very few under 6'1" actually do well. Drew Brees is the bunch. But it'll be hard to find many others.
