I loved the fact that Robby was only 2 years. He’s a great receiver, but my main concern was that he’s 28. Didn’t want to commit to a 4 or so year extension where we’d probably end up cutting him and end up with dead money at the end. Yeah, next extension has to be DJ or Donte. I have a feeling DJ is gonna blow up this year so I wouldn’t mind extending him sooner rather than later, tacking on extra years after the 5th year option like we did with CMC. His price tag will be higher than Donte’s. Regardless, it’s nice to see the front office extending good offensive players for the first time in awhile.

Hopefully we can make some signings from Colts and Ravens haha. PJ looks like ass tonight and our 3rd string D can’t stop a nosebleed. really loved the Jermaine Carter interview, though. He was a late round gem parting gift from The Hernia.

Totally forgot Kurt Coleman was doing color commentary this year. He was great in 2015, glad to have him on board

Shi Smith can fuging ball. I love this guy. So excited about him

Grier has been trash just about every time he’s played, but he definitely threw some great passes tonight when he had time. Didn’t expect it from him and was happy to see it. That one to TMJ was great. Hopefully he can build on it and we can get something in a trade ala Greg Little
-
He’s made some good tackles this game for sure. Good physicality. CB is pretty stacked this year so he has his work cut out for him to make the 53, but he’s looked solid tonight.

Yeah, this is a troll account. Twitter is a mess.

But if he can play, he can play. He was solid last year when healthy and we’ve been signing injury prone guys all offseason, so they don’t seem to care much about that. I guess it’s more a gut feeling than anything. edit: but apparently it’s robby so don’t listen to me! Lol
-
Thats what I was thinking. He was solid last year, he just couldn’t stay healthy with his toe problem. Fitty’s Seattle history leads credence to the idea he prioritizes DBs. Donte and DJ (hopefully with DJ being the one close to being done) are the two he’s talking about IMO. We still have Burns for 2 years after this on a rookie deal.

Same. As much as I enjoyed Samuel’s time here, he was often injured and didn’t really excel until that last year with us. He’s been hurt already for WFT as well. This WR group looks very good. It was a rough day at practice, but we know what DJ and Robby can do, and TMJ has looked great so far in camp (aside from drops today). Shi Smith has flashed. David Moore is a guy who can make a play if his number is called. Really exciting times. Can’t fix every position in one offseason.

It took Josh Norman a couple years to turn it on. My most memorable play from Pride last year was him falling down and running on all fours like a wildebeest trying to make a play, which isn’t a good thing since it ended in a TD. I hate it for him too, but also think focusing on the mental part of the game is what he needs most right now. He wasn’t going to play much this year anyways if everyone stays healthy. If he rehabs well and grows from this he could be a solid contributor in the future.

Like others said, we’re likely rolling with Darnold all year as long as he’s healthy, so I doubt PJ gets any playing time at all unless Darnold is throwing like 5 picks a week. Frankly I’m okay with it. He has great weapons and can throw deep. His scrambling ability is pretty good too, which unfortunately he’ll probably have to use due to the OL question marks. After watching Teddy last season, at least Darnold can keep it entertaining. Whether it’s entertainment via comedy or good football remains to be seen. I’m just here for the ride.

Looks like a good crowd. Love Fan Fest and have always wanted to go. Glad to see 89 back in the building and getting some love for what he’s done for the team (putting it on his back a few times).

Carolina Panthers Biggest Draft Busts(Top 3 Rounds)
PandaMan replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Blocked that one out of my memory. I would say the top bust was Clausen. He was truly one of the worst QB’s I’ve ever seen play. Hurney apparently wanted to trade up for him too, which probably would’ve been our 2011 1st rounder aka #1 overall pick. Dodged a bullet there. But his abysmal play has granted him my top spot. -
Charles Johnson on cutting Ibe. Has a point!
PandaMan replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is what I think it was, too. Lackadaisical play and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The video didn’t look that bad, but it’s possible to get bad concussions from seemingly minor hits. He definitely had bad form and it cost his teammate his health and him a roster spot. The concussion where Luke looked like he was on another planet against the Saints seemed like a routine play, that’s why it’s important to keep proper form. If it can happen on routine tackles it’s much more likely when you don’t tackle properly. -
My best friend’s an Eagles fan and bought some tickets, so I’ll be going as my birthday present. Not sure what we’re gonna be doing but it’s gonna be a good time no doubt. Every time we go to games we never actually get to the seats until after kickoff. Very bad at planning, apparently. So not the best tailgate partners lol. But if we do make it there beforehand we’d be more than happy to hang out. It’d be us, his girlfriend, and our roommate

Seemed like we botched the relationship after the way he was cut and his attitude afterwards. It’s great that he’s back with us, he’s the best WR I’ve ever seen play live and I love what he gave to my favorite team despite his faults, so actually hearing him say it is awesome. Tepper did great with giving worthy people some recognition within the organization

Like Vic Fangio? I would’ve loved Fields, I think he’ll be great, but numerous teams passed on him. It’s not like “any other coach” would’ve drafted him, because they simply didn’t do it when it was actually draft time. on topic to the thread, it’s no coincidence that we shut out the Lions and it was Whitehead’s first game being out. He was very, very bad.

Have you seen them in a room at the same time? Is he leading a double life?

What are our options if Darnold Gets Injured?
PandaMan replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d rather go with PJ Walker than any of the other options. RGIII hasn’t looked good in ages, Will Grier is just bad, and Foles has a magic that only works when he’s on the Eagles. Drew Lock has been bad, too. We made him look All-Pro last season but I think that was his best ever game as a pro. At least PJ has the unknown excitement factor going for him. -
Panthers Cap Space (This Season) After Moton Deal
PandaMan replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly, pass rushers are by far one of the most important positions in the game and we will have to pay Burns in a couple years. I would also love keeping DJ Moore. He’s performed so well with trash at QB, this guy can be a league leader in stats with better QB play. We’ve been laughably bad at retaining quality homegrown talent, so I’m a believer that the Moton deal was a sign of good things to come. -
If you are an adult and don’t have any ability to be financially literate, something went wrong along the way. Unfortunately, many of the parents can’t do it either and don’t know how to do it themselves. I blame the system more than the parents. Public schools need reform is the main point.

DJ Moore: a few vertical concept/contested catch highlights
PandaMan replied to ellis's topic in Carolina Panthers
Absolutely love DJ, he was who I wanted going into that draft. He contributes regardless of QB play. The amount of underthrown passes is heinous. I really hope we can keep him because his play style is so much fun.
