There was a QB at the Podium: Corral & Icky Pressers
PandaMan replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
Loving this guy. He has an edge to him that Darnold just doesn’t have. The good ones have that extra drive and Darnold’s way too chill for his own good lol. Luke was chill, but he’d turn that poo on whenever he stepped on the field. Plus, who can’t like a guy who beat up Wayne Gretzky’s asshole son? I love hearing Ikem talk as well. He has a good head on his shoulders and is good at explaining things. We may be on the upswing if we stay healthy. -
Panthers eyeing Sean Payton post Rhule?
PandaMan replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
Basically where I’m at. He’s an arrogant, insufferable bastard but when he’s your arrogant, insufferable bastard it’s easy to tolerate. Having an actual competent offensive-minded head coach would do wonders for this team. No way he would actually come here, though. Just a pipe dream -
Tarik Cohen - Letters to my Younger Self
PandaMan replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tarik’s a real one. Met him a couple times in downtown Greensboro and he was nothing but a nice dude. I didn’t know a lot of this stuff, so damn. People shouldn’t have to go through hardships like that. Love ya, Tarik! -
Feels weird having drafted a QB who’s considered great in athleticism, arm strength, and accuracy by the mainstream folks. People dogged on Cam’s accuracy but he wasn’t near as bad as the pundits made him out to be. He won MVP with only 2/3 of those according to them. But having all 3 skills clearly visible I ate too many gummies after work man, I’m so stoked to see this dude throw the ball

Same. It’s the fuging Browns. They literally went 1-31 over a two year span, drafted Baker, and make the playoffs within a few years WHILE ALSO getting a playoff win over their Steelers rivals. Not to mention he broke the rookie TD passing record his first year. Any other QB from that draft would’ve flopped big time with them imo. Dude’s whole persona is having a chip on his shoulder; he’ll come out of this better than the Browns after it’s all said and done edit - Baker would’ve been an upgrade over anybody on this roster, but I’m glad we did what we did with getting Corral. Cheaper, younger, more upside. We’ll see how it plays out

Chris Simms - Matt Corral is the top QB of the draft class
PandaMan replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
The way he talks about Corral, the sidearm ability and throwing off balance while still slinging it with great accuracy, being agile and still getting his feet set, etc., it sounds kinda like Rodgers’ play style. Not that Corral will be anywhere near that good, but they sound similar in how they play. Can’t wait to see the kid in action. Simms is probably the best out there out of the mainstream guys with his QB draft rankings -
Foles’ teammates seem to love the guy (except Wentz) but he’s only been good with Philly. People often forget about that wacky 27 TD 2 INT season with Chip Kelly in 2013. Something about Philly is magic for Nicholas Foles. If he was mentoring Corral, sure. But I don’t want him playing
-
He admitted that in his first couple years he didn’t really watch tape or put in the work he should have. He was an overconfident 18/19 year old. He grew up a bit and hasn’t had any issues in years from my understanding. I’m not worried about the guy

FO Wise: There has clearly been a power shift

We’re watching a bad relationship in real time, my guy. Just sit back and soak in every step of the way -
FO Wise: There has clearly been a power shift

Him being humbled is very likely what happened like you said. Thank God. This ain’t college buddy. Since he’s actually sticking around I’m really curious to see how year 3 goes. Year 3 was when Temple and Baylor started really improving, but Rhule seems so in over his head. If we go to the playoffs looking like studs I’ll question everything about life -
The Athletic article on Ickey (eggplant emoji)
PandaMan replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
The more I see about him the more I love the pick, and it’s not just homerism. If your offensive linemen are tough, smart, and love the game, they’ll usually be great. He has all of those traits plus awesome athleticism. Pretty sure offensive linemen have the highest overall Wonderlic scores on average. Not that it means a ton, but at least they’re not stupid, and Ickey is about as smart an OT that’s been drafted in a while. The way he’s been described makes me think of a Norwell-type who is better, and plays tackle. We lost the White Buffalo, but hopefully we just got our Black Bison -
Wanted Cross but would’ve been okay with Ikem, Cross, or Neal. I’m just so glad we didn’t fug this up. Glad we got Ickey and seeing this guy’s reaction makes up for not getting Cross. Let’s go!!!!!
-
That would be best case scenario. Cross is who I want, Minshew is better than anyone on this roster, and we get another pick. I’m gonna Cross my fingers and hope for this

I had a dream we’d beat the Vikings when we played them in like, 2017? Dreamt Jonathan Stewart would pop off, so I wore his jersey that day then he went and had 3 touchdowns and we beat them after they had a big winning streak. I’ve also had a lot of dreams that didn’t come close to reality, but if this comes true, the Vikings are spooky with their dream infiltration abilities
-
That’s the big one from my understanding. If you see a leak on who a pick is gonna be before it’s announced, keep that poo to yourself
-
Yep. Tired of the “He’s so young!” rhetoric when he’s the same player he’s always been and likely will continue to be that same player. The staff has given no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt. But Cross is the LT I want in the draft, so now I don’t know what I want. Hopefully his arm length fits the bill
-
Right? I mean, Hitler was Austrian. I don’t think lack of aggression is a problem based on nationality
-
It would’ve been good TV. Kind of like when you watch Tiger King; you know a lot of these people shouldn’t be in this position, but they are, and the train wreck is a golden goose. McAdoo is a solid OC but he always puts his foot in his mouth. Good sound bite material
-
Yeah, this is the problem with young teams. Hopefully they grow but it’s not surprising. CMC is probably the closest thing we have to a leader besides Shaq (who had a fuging good year), but CMC is more a lead by example type. You’d see Luke and guys like Olsen out there bossing people around but I don’t think CMC is that type. I feel like Shaq is good at managing the D, especially with guys like Chinn out there, but our offense has been lacking energy since Cam left. I’d take a vocal fullback if that’s what it takes to get a damn leader with some energy on offense
-
Dream: Trading back to the mid-teens and getting Cross. Dumping picks and resources into OL nightmare: pickett or Willis at 6 and drafting CB with our next pick. Willis might end up being good but he’s not gonna improve with this staff imo. He’s gotta go to a better franchise
-
No; we can also reap what we’ve sown and eat the money this year, only to go into next year’s better QB draft while we’re in better shape

This one was cool to read. I met Proehl in Myrtle Beach a few years back, he was giving some speech or something at a convention. Was able to ask him some stuff and he specifically mentioned Jon Beason being pretty upset with Luke’s drafting. After Beason got hurt again and Luke starting playing MLB, Thomas Davis was telling Beason the kid was the real deal. “Glad we picked Luke instead Coples” is the understatement of the decade

100%. It’s in very bad taste. At least he deleted it and made a new one, but this guy has been making distasteful tweets for awhile now. This the same guy who posted JPP’s busted hand x-rays and his medical condition while he was still in serious recovery. RIP Dwayne. You never know if the day you wake up to is the last one you’ll ever have. I hope they were able to at least find the person who hit him.
