Bill O’Brien but with no playoff appearances or accomplishments. Great!

Definitely what it seems like at this point. It’s so disheartening that Teddy, the boogeyman of last season, was actually the voice of reason and the reason we were in some games from the jump. Sam Darnold blows and he’s probably who we’re stuck with after taking the $18M 5th year option. Ugh…
-
That’s the vibe I get this year. It helps when you have a star like Burrow, but his ability to adjust is something we are severely lacking.
-
It’s so strange to me because last year we did actually have some games we had no business being in, but competed until the end. Chiefs game for example. If Teddy could make some better plays at the end of some games we could’ve been 7-9 or even 8-8. But this year has been blunder after blunder after blunder. Such a regression the likes of which I’ve never seen. I thought Zac Taylor was in way over his head for Cincinnati, and he might still be, but he’s at least learning and improving and the Bengals are poised for a home playoff game. We have gotten so much worse.

This is Fatt Fhule's Idea of a Franchise QB
PandaMan replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
To his credit, Andy Reid also embraces the fat memes. Every time he wins a game or something he makes a comment about celebrating with a huge burger or some ribs. Making fun of someone’s appearance is a low blow but Andy at least has fun with it -

Hard to win any games when your defense is giving up 30+ points a game and you’ve also sunk all your resources into your defense. Cam hasn’t been great but this whole team sucks from top to bottom -
Holt should’ve been in awhile ago and Wayne deserves it too. He was a fantastic WR for ages. WR is so logjammed. But Andre over 89…? What? After he went to Baltimore and balled out I thought it’d improve his chances, being on a good team that most people don’t dislike unless you’re in the AFCN. But apparently not. The TO treatment is real

I want to steer clear from all of these guys. With it looking like Rhule is coming back, they would have no chance here anyways. And sometimes there’s a QB class where there really just isn’t anybody who turns into a good player. 2013 comes to mind. Just trade down, stock up on OL

Quinn is a younger Rivera. And if you look at the amount of losing seasons, Quinn is actually better than Rivera. 2 out of 5 for Quinn, 7 out of 10 for Rivera. If you count Ron going 5-7 before getting fired then it’s 8 losing seasons out of 11. I think Quinn deserves another shot somewhere but I don’t want him here

I’m sorry for your loss, man. Had the same thing happen earlier this year. A lot of people don’t take it seriously until it happens close to home. And even when you do everything you can, it can still happen. Scary stuff.

Matt Rhule says Darnold will start Sunday
PandaMan replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
My hopes were dashed after the Giants game but I checked out after the Dolphins game. I’m just here for the memes at this point -
I think Fitt could be a solid GM. He’s already shown aptitude when it comes to trading during the draft, and I think we all know Rhule’s the one calling the shots on the actual players selected. He’s trying to build something with a hammer tied to his nipple and both hands behind his back.

I’ve noticed this as well. Cam looks comfortable in there, I haven’t really seen any happy feet or the like. He stands tall and will throw it. Will it be batted down at the line or bounce off his receiver’s hands? Probably, but Darnold looks panicked almost every time he drops back -
This team has more talent than when he got here, but we are performing worse. That should tell us all we need to know. I don’t care for platitudes or whatever he’s trying to sell about invisible improvement, there is no improvement. Anywhere. He’s spouting words out of his mouth to keep himself employed, and it’s the best skill he has to offer
-
He looked out of his depth from the first snap. If he starts we have a good shot to win, but our offense is so pathetic that frankly it might look like that 6-6 Seattle/Arizona game a few years back
-
My buddy played center in high school. He’s gained some weight this year so he’s about 200 right now. I’ll see if he’s up to it. He’s an Eagles fan so don’t be afraid to boo, he’s used to it
-
Agree to disagree, Rhule is bad but he’s not as bad as those guys. He hasn’t completely quit and some guys on the team still believe in him (albeit probably stemming from the nice payday, e.g. Robby Anderson). He has at least one example of good coaching, the Chiefs game last year was well coached. He’s clearly in over his head and needs to go, but saying he’s the worst in history just isn’t true lol editing-hit save way too soon
-
How is Rhule worse than Bobby Petrino or Hue Jackson? Petrino literally walked out on his team and Jackson went 1-15, guaranteeing they would be better next year or he’d walk naked into Lake Erie, only to go 0-16 and puss out on his promise. As bad as we are, we still have NFL players. Talent isn’t a problem for us, it’s coaching. Talent alone will be enough to overpower Alabama. Brian Burns and Reddick against 19-20 year old tackles? Come on
-
Yes. We’re bad, but we’re not that bad
-
Yikes, it’s even worse than I thought. We aren’t winning another game this year so he’s actually worse than Schiano, and with more talent. Very impressive.
-
While those choices were the right ones at the time, mob rule isn’t always the best thing. Hopefully he keeps listening but also doesn’t do anything too boneheaded. His biggest blunder so far was not firing Ron/Hurney together. Once Rhule is finally gone, he really needs to hire a consultant to help find the next coach

What would be your rapper name for Matt Rhule?

Could this team beat the 2001 or 2010 teams?
PandaMan replied to KillerKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think recency bias is robbing us of how historically pathetic that 2010 team was. We never scored more than 23 points a game that year. To me, that’s the worst team in Panthers history -
A guy like Danny Shelton would come pretty cheap. Can we lure Snacks Harrison out of retirement? We have BBQ and Bojangles
