Is there anyone on this roster you wouldn't trade?
PandaMan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chinn, Horn, Moton, Shaq, Burns. Shaq really impressed this season and showed up laying the thunder. We need to move Chinn closer to the line of scrimmage to let him impact more plays. I think it would help Burns out, as well. And Moton is literally our only good OL. Can’t let him go. -
Let’s make February 1st(2/1) Cam Newton Appreciation day!

Nice idea. Can’t wait, mine was definitely the NFC Championship in 2015. Most fun I’ve ever had at BoA. quick shout out to the snow storm that happened right before. Made the tickets super cheap -
I am taking the 2022 season OFF as being a Panthers fan

Hey, you can’t leave out the magical ride of Brian St. Pierre! -
We’ll have to trade down for that. We only have a 1st, 4th, two 5ths, 6th, and 7th. But I’d love trading down if we get a good haul and actually draft OL. Hoping some desperate team falls in love with a QB… it happens every year, maybe we’ll get lucky this time

Adrian Peterson also had a huge fumbling problem that he got a handle on later in his career. But being Tiki Barber and Peterson, who is a GOAT level talent at RB and being Sam Darnold are different. I don’t think he’ll be able to do it. Maaaaaybe, but when the bullets fly and huge dudes are charging at you, he’s just going to revert back to same old Sam. He doesn’t have that factor to him.

Wouldn’t mind restructuring Shaq. He’s usually healthy and had his best season as a pro. Would also love to do that with Fox. The cap is very manageable if you’re good at it and Samir seems like one of the great money guys in the league, so we’ll figure it out. Wish he was here when we signed Matt Kalil.

I’m really high on Cross, so if we move BC to guard and go that way, I’d be totally fine with it. The more good pieces on OL the better. Not getting my hopes up that whoever we draft is actually gonna get playing time, though
-
I hope so. Goff has 3 years left on his deal with a potential out after next season, so they could draft Pickett and sit him his rookie year. Fingers crossed!!
-
If he’s LT I definitely want to trade down. I’m not very high on any of these QBs, but I have a nauseating feeling it’s going to be Pickett

I didn’t watch the whole thing, but when talking about the line and arm length, he said it doesn’t matter that much if you have compensating factors like quickness, etc. He mentioned the proper technique of keeping your arms/hands in front of you, which Brady does well. Said he played well and had a tough season because he had to learn so many different positions, but he did it as a rookie and was impressed. Sounded like he wants to keep him at LT. He also mentioned Deonte Brown and how you could see the power he brings, as well as quickness even with his size when he was in last night. Saw him push his man around and get upfield. He thinks Brown and BC will be good building blocks. HOWEVER, they should’ve gotten a shitload more playing time to see what we’ve got in these guys. Now we have 3 games of BC at LT to figure out if we should draft one. he didn’t say this but it’s clear it should’ve gone down that way.

Reading the actual transcript of Rhule’s response to the Darnold 5th year option is so embarrassing from our culture builder and leader of men, more so than just watching it. “Umm… ummm… j-, bringing him in to be the starter, you know, knowing that if he had a great year, that he’d, you know, he would- [inhales] he would be a high- high- you know, high priced guy and if- if- if he’s a starter at that number, it’s- that’s- that’s- that’s low-end starter money, so… umm… that was a decision made, umm, uhh it was a collective decision and, you know, umm… uh… I got not much more to say other than that to be honest with you”
-
I have a lot more faith in Fitt than Rhule. Seems like Rhule tells Fitt what he wants and he goes and gets it (or tries to, at least). Once the players are on the team Rhule is just fuging it all up

A sneak peek into Tepper’s new motto? KEEP SCRATCHING?
-
They really did look pretty bad. Not sure what’s up with that. The uniforms are versatile, but they’re not good enough. Story of the Panthers
-
[Broussrard] Sources: Tepper is beside himself. Driving around downtown Charlotte begging (thru texts) Rhule’s family for address to Matt’s home

With Easterby down in Houston, Pep Hamilton is getting all the Jesus he needs

This can be a playoff team next year if we bring Cam back......
PandaMan replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam said he wouldn’t mind being a backup on a potential contender, but he didn’t want to play for a 5-12 team. Well… we’ll probably be worse than that, so I doubt he’s coming back -
I wouldn’t be mad, but even though Darnold sucks it’s not his fault he’s in this position. He seems like a nice kid, he just blows as an NFL QB. So I’d prefer not to see him get killed if possible. If he gets hurt it’s just back to PJ Walker again

Matt Rhule on why Darnolds option was picked up
PandaMan replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great minds think alike. I froze it right there and was cracking up -
Wasn’t he the guy who got Luck killed by constantly calling deep shots with a terrible OL? I feel like I’ve seen this movie before…

Matt Rhule on why Darnolds option was picked up
PandaMan replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
His forehead grows with each flustered response he gives. He’s looking rough today -
I think that’s exactly the plan. Invest heavy in OL, roll with Sam, because if he just has better protection, he’ll become a player he has never been before. Or something like that.
