I was a big fan of Baker’s in that draft and wanted him to go #1, and now he’s the only available one with the swag needed to give this boring ass team some juice

So true. People have been saying for years the Saints will hit cap hell… at some point. When Brees signed the first $20M/year deal it was seen as ridiculous and that they’d be in cap hell soon. This was 10 years ago. Cap doesn’t exist for Loomis. You can make the numbers do almost anything you want. He was an accountant, I believe, before his Saints gig and that has paid dividends.

People get way too caught up in this “is it worth 6th overall” mindset. Certain positions sure, like RB due to the short shelf life. But you’re saying you wouldn’t draft a guy at #6 who you knew would be a top 5 center for 10+ years because he’s a center? It doesn’t matter who you pick, you can get a Morris Claiborne or a Jalen Ramsey. Give me the stalwart at his position, doesn’t matter who it is. Take the best OL at #6 or trade down if our favorites are all gone. Hoping for Ekwonu or Cross but I’ll take anything right now

With this staff, no. He looked pretty competent with only occasional signs of old Jameis when he played this year, but we have no Payton on the staff. Stick with Darnold if that’s the alternative
