Apparently now we have one of the best LBs in the league Panthers agreed to terms with LB Denzel Perryman, formerly of the Chargers, on a two-year contract. Perryman was one of the better off-ball linebackers to hit the market after both Lavonte David and Matt Milano stayed with their respective teams. In Carolina, Perryman will take over at the MIKE after Tahir Whitehead played largely empty snaps there last season. It'll be Perryman, Shaq Thompson, and Jeremy Chinn at linebacker for the Panthers, giving them one of the better trios in the league. Perryman has yet to play a full 16-game season through six years in the league.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Seahawks told the Bears that Russell Wilson is not being traded "at this time." The Bears reportedly made "a very aggressive pursuit" for Wilson, but they instead had to settle for Andy Dalton as their 2021 starting quarterback. Go hug a Bears fan. This report should silence any Wilson trade rumors for the rest of the offseason, especially with the four teams that Wilson was open to going to looking settled at quarterback for now. The trade rumors never made much sense in the first place because of Wilson's contract and Seattle's "win now" roster. However, Schefter's report was careful to say "at this time", so it's possible that Wilson is headlining trade rumors following the 2021 season.

The Saints are royally fuged as it stands right now. The Saints restructured DB Malcolm Jenkins' contract to save $3.4 million in 2021. The Saints also redid OL Andrus Peat's contract to save $6 million this year. These are the latest moves in the team's ancient practice of trying frantically to get under the salary cap. Even after these restructures, the Saints are around $55 million over the cap. Jenkins, formerly of the Eagles, signed a four-year, $32 million contract with New Orleans last spring. Jenkins, 34, is signed through the 2023 season.

Makes me wonder if VVD was the reason they were so good. Their D looks terrible and requires their mids to play much deeper. That crazy attack they had looks gone. VVD was crazy fast, physical and talk. Liverpool would throw everyone forward and he could handle counters by himself.
