That's why when Steve Smith ended up in jail in 2002 after ending fellow receiver Anthony Bright's career by breaking his nose and eye socket, he definitely wasn't signed to a 6 year $27 million extension after the 2003 season. That's why when Steve Smith was suspended by the Panthers for 2 games for seriously injuring Ken Lucas during practice in 2008, he definitely wasn't signed to a 3 year extension in 2012. OH NO WAIT Steve Smith was a cancer hated by everyone in the organization except Jerry Richardson for some unknown reason and he managed to stay on this team for 13 seasons despite assaulting fellow teammates MULTIPLE times in front of dozens of witnesses both times. He essentially ended both guys' careers. He stayed in part due to elite talent. But yet Greg Hardy, who was also charged with a misdemeanor assault charge (with no eyewitnesses mind you), is getting booted out the door? Despite how godly he has played in recent seasons? Despite still being young, despite playing a much more important position than wide receiver? Can someone please help me make sense of this? Smith had his misdemeanor assault charge dropped too, but only after he entered a deferred-prosecution program. Greg Hardy won't have to do a thing and charges have been immediately dropped period. What the hell?

4 Things Greg Hardy Must Do to Remain a Panther

Jury selection begins on Monday, people better get used to the forum being nothing but Greg Hardy stuff for at least a week or two. -
4 Things Greg Hardy Must Do to Remain a Panther
Sam Mills Fan replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thing 1 will 100% happen. Thing 2 can happen if it has to. Thing 3...yeah, that ain't happening. Why should it? He wasn't officially suspended and he was forced to be the only person in the history of pro sports that I can find that had to miss 15 regular season games and 2 playoff games due to pending misdemeanor charges. It's already severely impacted his future earnings potential, why should he hand a billionaire over the money that is contractually his? Thing 4: I don't know, this is possible, depends on what the market is for him. If a team like the Raiders offers him more money, he'll sign with them and so be it. I don't know what his market will be this offseason though after missing an entire season and still having this cloud that will linger over him even when he's acquitted. -
4 Things Greg Hardy Must Do to Remain a Panther

Why is this site SO anti-Greg Hardy? Did the man not literally used to post here for a hot second? Am I the only one that remembers him asking for coats for the coat drive that was pinned at the top of this forum? That DEFINITELY doesn't make him a great dude, but why all this vitriol? Were any of you there and know exactly what happened? We give people the benefit of the doubt all the time, why don't we assume Hardy is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers?- 218 replies

A rule is a rule. Doesn't matter how big or small the rule is. Maybe the underinflated balls made a big difference, maybe they didn't. Fact is that the Patriots knowingly cheated by all accounts and broke a rule. You can't just let that slide on a judgment call. If you could, then Dez Bryant has a touchdown against the Packers and it's possible that the Cowboys are in the Super Bowl right now. The punishment is very easy: Suspend Bill Belichick for the Super Bowl. No need to strip draft picks.

Any thoughts on Jamison Crowder from Duke?
Sam Mills Fan replied to Sam Mills Fan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do you know what the word "potential" means? -
Played HS football at Monroe, college at Duke, NFL with the Panthers? Great role model, super intelligent, great hands, good blocker, great return guy with a good second gear. Only knock on him is his size, he's only 5'9 and that could be especially bad being paired with Cam. Anybody else like me want to see us use a late-round pick on him though? He feels like a 5th round guy. He has the potential to be Steve Smith without the locker room cancer presence.

Do we know what he did to break it? You don't just break bones in practice normally. Pull things, yes. Tear things, yes. Break things? I'm not coming up with any examples of actually breaking bones in practice off the top of my head.

With the freak things happening this year, would it surprise anyone if Kuechly's appendix ruptures tonight? Maybe Ryan Kalil's dog will be ran over. These poor guys.

So that spam account was...right? How did this happen?

The Huddle Gameday Live - Buffalo Bills Edition
Sam Mills Fan replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just wanna say I made the first anti-Barner thread on the Huddle during the regular season last year and got bashed to hell because of it. The guy can't play in the NFL.- 851 replies

Overall I thought this game was a positive one. Looking like the only abysmal group is the offensive line + Barner and you KNEW the o-line was going to struggle early.- 851 replies

These tapes are meaningless. The only third-party witness says Hardy was beating her. That strongly favors his girlfriend. But she could have been misinterpreting what she was seeing and hearing. And the only tape from between the two involved was from Hardy who sure sounds like it's her fault. But guys preemptively calling 911 *just like this* happens all the time too.

I really don't like Greg Hardy. The majority of his tweets and Instagram photos annoy the hell out of me. THAT SAID, we shouldn't be so quick to eat one of our own. Yes, men assault women all the time but women also lie or exaggerate things all the time too. Give Hardy his day in court. If it gets to the point where he pleads guilty or is found guilty, then crucify him then. But imagine the horror of being in his position if this was nothing at all or super exaggerated.

Ahahahaha thanks I guess

Last team to go 0-3 and make the playoffs....
Sam Mills Fan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Big difference between us and the '98 Bills: The '98 Bills' last two seasons included a playoff appearance in 1996 and a 10-6 record followed by a 6-10 season where the Bills started TODD COLLINS in 1997. -
That's my girlfriend right before she got pregnant so they're even bigger now HIHOOOOOOOOOO!
