What Veteran QB Do We Sign to Mentor the Rookie QB?
rippadonn replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Again, Josh McCown. No need for a "mentor". -
That's my DJ

I have a feeling Matt Corral isn't having problems pulling chicks.

Lol. Let HOUSTON decide between Young, Levis, AR. That's a more difficult puzzle to solve. To me the physical differences would factor in more greatly especially long term with CJ out of the mix and wearing black and blue.
-
Stroud has that poise. Unafraid. Doesn't panic, always thinking, calculating. He's a day one off top. No questions here. He could start like Cam did.

Which of these FA WRs would you want to go after?

DJ Moore! Actually can't be mad my two teams are dealing. USUALLY good things happen when the Bears Panthers pipeline is open for business. Better historically than the Jet, Brown basement sales. -
AND I can't have a guy cower when asked to come and throw with all the other QBs and chooses to wimp out. Bad move. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/bryce-young-combine-throwing-2023/ After reading THAT after other guys CAME OUT, PREPARED AND GAVE THE EFFORT to do so and one guy because of actual or perceived weakness chose willingly or from bad advice not to throw like CJ, Levi's, AR. AR didn't hide due to perceived or actual accuracy issues. He came and threw like a man. His people say he was healing up from injuries. I think the article above is more on target, which would be pathetic among competitive folk in my opinion. Not a warrior mentality like Matt Corral who was actually showed up after being really injured and fought to complete the combine including showcasing his trade craft and he was still a little "hurt".

Ok, let's make this easy. Let's let the average woman pick for us, kinda like a dating show. Put the two gentlemen side by side, who do you think she'll pick. Getting louder, and louder...

#1.... I had Levis as the dark horse, underdog QB of this draft. A guy who could do better than Bryce Young in the NFL and I stand by that. The NFL for the most part is moving up to heavyweight from middleweight. Levis checks all the boxes to make that jump to a faster, harder, more physical stage.
-
That #1 changes every damn thing. Whoot!
-
*OFFICIAL GET LOUD FOR STROUD BANDWAGON* There is only 1 QB1 in this draft. The #1 pick is for one thing and one thing ONLY...
-
Ok, take three inches off Levi's would he be in the first round? It's a minus. He's undersized. Because of that he won't be top five this year, too many guys with physical advantages to Young.
-
Shout it from the mountain top! No deals, no calls. That's our guy. Show some gumption, confidence.
-
Houston, stop calling, stop texting, stop asking mutual friends to see what's up. I've already got Stroud jerseys being cut and stitched, stay the f' out of my way up to the podium.

Come down to Charlotte @BofA with US! IT'S GOING TO BE A PARTY in that stadium. Tepper will do it big for this one. Fireworks, all that. It may be a close second best experience.
-
Young isn't QB1 due to height, weight concerns. The real smokescreen is actually comparing him to STROUD when his actual tier because of those liabilities is Levis.
-
Usually they go together, Young would need to be about 220lbs at his height to hold up. It a serious concern in the NFL, the NBA he'd still be undersized but the obvious danger wouldn't as grave.
-
That's why he will drop. He can't overcome the physical liability he presents to team pinning their hopes and multiple millions on an undersized QB.
-
Lol. With height comes an extra couple pounds, which helps vs flying 300lb bears.
-
You get #1 to get the best QB in that draft. No other reason. No need to play coy.
-
I vaguely remember something about on notice.
