Make him your guy then for God sake. Roll with him, let him get reps. Then judge.

86 million dollars, and a 2nd and 4th round pick...

That was ownership. The brand. After getting burned by Collins ownership was reticent. We continue to have great RBs though. Cam was the highest we'd drafted since that debacle with Kerry. That was a good call. There's that. -

They didn't have final say. Fox said he couldn't "shop for his own groceries" that was a quote in the papers back then. Ron came in and soon had deal with Gettleman who was a control freak. Neither had the power to control the roster and choose their own GM. Too much too fast without the resume. -
If true he said the quiet part out loud. Threw that man under the bus. Rhule is responsible for the hire anyways and 100% responsible for the very expensive QB debacle. All that money and picks wasted, ineptitude, fan apathy and the owner having to step in and correct the QB mistakes...he should have had training wheels now he's cost the team cap space and draft capital and no improvement in wins to show for it all. Tepper whiffed on McCarthy. Rhule is on very thin ice. He's financially cost the team more money in bad decisions than his proposed salary.

And to shut up the fan base. Marketing gold. I'm not advocating....but Jon Gruden, Cam. Actual NFL staff and systems? They missed on MCarthy in my opinion. He comes with a ready-made NFL staff too. Imagine Gruden to the rest of the NFC South.....I'm baaaack. I'm not advocating but the ticket sales/merch would go through the roof for that show just to see what happens. He'd be pretty tough on Cam but I think he can take it. I'm not advocating though. That's how you take advantage of having a Cam Newton instead of kicking him out the door because of feelings. -

He gave him much too much control too fast. Everybody needs a great guide. -

Rhule would probably be a great NFL DC. The jump may have been too high. Perhaps Teppers mistake may have been letting him roll with a first time OC. -

I'd even take Chucky right now, bottom of the barrel NFL beats college every time. I'm not advocating for Chucky but HE would do better than this. He would love to have Cam and this team and be back in the NFC South. I'm not advocating here. He'd have to drop his lawsuit(win, win for NFL). He's the only personality bigger than Cam. I'm not advocating but those two would probably be very good together. I'm not advocating for Jon Gruden to come back to the NFC South. But it might be a good idea. He's pure NFL. I think this is a better fit than Vegas. He would have the gravitas to really debate and build with a owner like Tepper. I'm not advocating. -

Rhule needed a GM to hold his hand and groom him. If Fox and Rivera couldn't shop for their own groceries, Rhule sure as heck shouldn't have been. He immediately targeted his tweeners and overachievers who made it to the NFL. Not the elite specimen types he had no chance of recruiting at Temple. -
Yeah, the minute he was signed by NE I knew the narrative of Cams arm was garbage. Haters gotta find something else to rag on now.

Rivera played Rhule again

I just never saw 3-4 as base defense like they do. It's a gimmick defense used when you lack big guys up front to do the job due to injury or lack of personnel. Ron of all people know that and he exploited the 3-4 where it's weakest, the run game. The scheming went wrong with that decision. -
Lol. Funny how the poo birds have nothing to add to the conversation.
-
THATS how they control games. The momentum was with the Panthers the refs sought to control that. They helped WFT on their first scoring drive to help their confidence and stabilize momentum. After that they let them hold and didn't let us do the same. Maybe it's not the NFL but somebody is influencing the outcome of games. The officials were horrible, on purpose.
-
Rivera couldn't "shop for his own groceries" nor could Fox. Rivera lobbied publicly, him and TD, to keep Greg Hardy to no avail.
-
Prototypes exist for a reason. Speed over size/strength in the NFL is futile. We can be fast all we want but if our guys get trucked it means nothing.
-
Hog Mollies. Need more. Go back to 4-3 you can't rebuild with a bunch of undersized guys. You'll have a little success but not for long. Rhule couldn't get the biggest fastest strongest guys so he relied on tweeners and overcomers. The NFL game favors BIG guys especially up front or rushing the QB.
