Bryce Young Film Breakdown Megathread
rippadonn replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't hate Young, I'm just not impressed like you hype trainers. Kyler Murray has 1000+ yards rushing coming out of college. Bryce has 162 He's half the player Kyler is. C'mon. The more stats and comps the more Bryce comes up short again. -
Does being a heisman QB guarantee success in the pros..

So you are basically saying Young has absolutely no comparison in the NFL thus a huge unknown in a very thin package? -

But hasn't been on the field much lately due to durability. https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/kyler-murray/10217 Let's contrast and compare! About the same age. Not the same build. -

Bryce Young Film Breakdown Megathread
rippadonn replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
If this was ballet or futbol nobody would be talking about his size like EVERYONE is, but it's football. Math camp and refs can't keep him safe forever It's coming. Tua couldn't avoid it, these guys are so big so strong even when they hold back, smaller lighter players still get hurt. Again, these aren't college players. I think Quick said she watched him get hit and get up time and time again. Yeah but put a couple more pounds and inches and sprinkle in more speed THATS the pros. There is absolutely no precedent for a player at playing at his size. Yet hopium and rainbows everywhere. The same folk were all into Zach Wilson, he was the darling like your boy Young, the darling but there were reasons for him not succeeding in the transition to the NFL. The hype train and well paid sports agencies covered that up in favor of the hype and the Jets are looking for a QB again. Buyer beware. -
https://www.stadiumtalk.com/s/shortest-nfl-quarterbacks-8520e8f1a56a4a79 Only 4 other guys in history have succeeded at QBing under 6' and none of them are in this decade accept for one, Kyler and the jury is still out. Young only has one modern day comparison to go by and it's Kyler, everyone else is two inches taller including Russ, Tua, Mayfield etc. So the Youngsters and pundits think Young is that guy. The numbers as far as success in the NFL for QBs under 6' don't support the hopium being passed around. There is nothing physically special about the guy, there are physical advantages with the others. And IF brains and processing speed won football games MIT would be national champions.... spoiler alert, that'll never happen.

This day and age people are so pie in the sky. They want to forget the past and they way things have always been. Wasting a #1 pick will be devastating especially due to injuries that were predicted because of that small frame, yet everyone wants to convince you the brain will overcome the physical nature and danger of football. It's bullshit*t and they know it. Yes a lot of people CAN but it doesn't always mean they SHOULD. ESPN would be a safer place for that cute little face.

Not everyone is on the hype train and that's ok.

Small bodies, big brains unite!

I'm not the one asking for the FIRST smallest and lightest QB to EVER play QB in the NFL. You are the one picking an outlier a statistical and physical anomaly expecting him to make it. Tua, Kyler already having trouble staying in the game physically. He's not better coming out of college. YOU think because of his smile and cuteness, Bryce is gonna make it!
-
He's a disadvantage no matter how many mental advantages y'all come up with. It's all hype. Not even better than his predecessor Tua statistically or stylistically. Nothing special about his body, just his noodle, ok arm, "gets it" and moxy. That doesn't make a NFL player. Ignore the physical part to his/your peril. Why are all the other guys more physically strong, ready for the NFL? You really want underdog to win but even Kyler can't stay on the field and he's of a thicker build. You going to spend the #1 pick and wait for a guy to "grow up" "put on weight" to play and actually try to stay on the field?
