  1. Would Baker have a chance behind the third string line(if you say yes...hmmm)? Not to bang on those guys but it is what it is.
  2. It's not negative we're logical. The HC is a college coach and never hatched after two years of NFL incubation. Still doing the same things that lost him 23 games in a two year career. You're actually betting the guy that messed it up can now fix it? Spoiler alert: A guy installed our HVAC had to come back 4 times to fix it and couldn't. I called a very professional company who answered their phone unlike the other guy. Needless to say they found the root problem, diagnosed it, ordered the parts, came back and it's fixed w/warranty. Which guy is Rhule in that situation?
  3. I think we can all agree that he didn't get enough reps and we were cheated out of seeing this kid play behind the second or first team lines because Rhule didn't want him to. Next year. That's what they told him, even pre-camp, that's why he clarified his position, HE came to start. I think most people here agree that Corral actually getting to compete is not what happened. See being disingenuous has it's downfalls like karma, now Sam's out (who got a lions share of full speed actual 1st/2nd team reps), so is Corral(who can't practice with the team for a whole season AND the kicker as the kicker. This HCs plans will continue to fall apart because they're built on the weakest of foundations. To have to watch this all over again with another disposable, blame able and former hope and dream of another town every season. Another one. Maybe my displeasure comes off as Baker hate but it isn't. I hate that the Panthers can't finally draft a rookie QB to be the final piece of this grand Tepper rebuild. It's maddening but I'm not mad at Teddy/Sam/Cam/Sam/Baker it's the absolute refusal of a "QB guru" to develop a rookie QB for the Carolina Panthers like we don't deserve the pride and joy or disappointment that comes with that journey. We hit the jackpot with Cam. We potentially hit the jackpot with Corral but he was pre-redshirted before camp because his name wasn't Kenny Pickett. Petty Rhule is petty, nothing new. This rookie, everything he did, should have at least got a chance. He was micromanaged off the field as originally planned by Rhule pre-camp.
  4. If the team keeps the promise they made to him, he's OK. If they were lying like "I can't wait to coach Cam Newton" lying, the kid is in a world of trouble because much like some idiots want to forever brand him a third rounder and that's all, which him and Malik were not projected to be, the NFL can be a place of very few opportunities for a typical "3rd rounder". He had a too much of a logjam ahead of him to get OUR Russell Wilson moment and we have yet to see Corral play with NFL caliber teammates so we have absolutely no idea how he looks with real NFL talent NOT third string linemen on skates on top of his feet.
  5. If you put Baker with someone like Jim Harbaugh THEN you're cooking with gas. But how is Rhule or McAdoo going to make Baker better after 4yrs. It's just like Sam. How did Rhule make Teddy or Sam or Cam better? He couldn't and didn't.
  6. No not at all. Drew Brees style of play changed from an athletic scrambler who was accurate to the all time most accurate pocket passers of all time. Baker doesn't belong in that conversation with Brees. I know you love, love, love you some Baker,Baker,Baker but this coach under him I don't think any sustainable success is possible.
  7. They forget Chargers Brees used to run the ball more, Saints Brees became a pocket assassin.
  8. Good to see you posting around these parts again friend. Welcome.
  9. I love McAdoo but he doesn't get final say. McAdoo is actually qualified to be our HC.
  10. How come the others couldn't. Yes it's an example. When he had time to throw and wasn't running for his life he put the ball in or near guys hands, only observed 2-3 maybe that got away from him to were just misses other than that when he threw it was crisp and accurate. We didn't see enough reps with other players of NFL caliber to say anything....If you think we have...that's all I need to know.
  11. He has to be more accurate to be in the same conversation as Brees. We can throw around stats but Drew Brees and Tom Brady's most impressive stat that made them great was accuracy.
  12. Do you believe in Matt Rhule? Do you think he's capable of running a pro football team? I think what's getting lost in the Baker,Baker,Baker argument is that many of us don't think he can or will and that any talent will be wasted by bad decision making. I don't know if Baker will ever turn his career around, I just don't think it will be with a Matt Rhule run football team.
  13. Drew had more trade interest than Baker who had just one taker.
  14. Ok, thanks I didn't iirc. So we have the offense and Coach to make Baker Mayfield into Drew Brees? So now Baker Mayfield is Drew Brees? Sorry, I've got to see it first before I can believe that. As of now. No way.
  15. So you are saying is that Matt Rhule is the coach to improve Baker to a Brees level QB? Rhule the QB Whisperer has already whiffed on Teddy/Sam/Cam/Sam/Corrals development, what makes you think this is a better offense that Cleveland? So you expect turf to improve Bakers game to a career 65%+ passer? That's Tom Brady and Drew Brees level. All of a sudden after four years in the NFL Baker is going to improve. What is here to help his improvement? Again, he couldn't improve Teddy/Sam/Cam/Sam/PJ/Corral why is Baker any different or better? Spoiler alert guys: don't drink the Kool Aid
  16. Brees was a Charger for two years if I remember correctly. Baker was a four year Brown. They had plenty of time to see if he was the next Brees or not. Spoiler alert: ...
  17. So bashing Corral as just the third rounder is as silly as it really sounds.
  18. Malik was projected to go in the first and he didn't so he doesn't matter.
  19. He's nowhere near Brees level. Why are you so happy about leftovers?
  20. Drew Brees level is always running at close to 70% completion percentage. Please stop. He's way behind if he'd ever catch up to Brees. Baker has NEVER had a NFL career 67%+ average. Brees is other level. The SEC isn't the NFL but maybe the next hardest but Matt Corral out up 72% and 69% completion percentage the last two seasons. That was the closest you were going to get to Brees like accuracy in this locker room., but that guy didn't matter.
  21. It's like a NASCAR team constantly replacing their engines with used motors from last Gen cars.
