  1. Levis is my value pick this year. He had a different OC last year who has since gone to the NFL. There's something different about the way he's being used, I'll keep a eye on that but to me Levis is a great value at late first early second. A couple drafts ago I was begging the Panthers to draft Micah Parsons and package picks/players to move up in the second to get Kyle Trask. Trask is 6'5" 240lbs with NFL experience now, he's a guy a team could target and prosper with much like Jake Delhomme. He would be the unquestioned starter with 2yrs under his belt right now and Parsons would be our all pro. Hindsight. So for this draft if I were the Panthers I'd go Anderson/Murphy and trade up into the first (15-20) with all that capital to try and get Levis IF you're talking about winning. Even if Levis sits behind Corral a year or two or you package one of the two later for something else, optionality.
  2. Once again if you didn't read my response to nonsense like this is I'm not picking frontrunners, I'm picking for value. It's easy to say who the frontrunner is. Herbert was my value pick that year, Burrow was the frontrunner and for a value pick like our guy Corral every opportunity is magnified by 100X. Strong would be a great addition (value) to our QB room. Trask would beat out PJ. He's a 6'5" bulldozer.
  3. There's a couple reasons I call him Young Lion, the first is HEART. Second, golden cat. Believe!
  4. I'm telling you guys, Young will become the value pick this draft much like Corral was. At the same time, if he's overwhelmed, you'll get the, I told you so's.
  5. That's why they usually bank on physical traits and hope the rest falls into place. Any physical knocks will lower draft position. Example: a 6'6" Matt Corral would have been the unquestioned #1 pick last draft.
  6. Very observant but that's the thing, he plays with aggression. The right coach can recognize and help channel that correctly. Look at what he said when he came here " I'm going to start by any means necessary". He was the first guy there because he was hungry and wanted it bad to no avail but his high drive is unquestionable and needs to be managed. Like I've said here, maybe this time he's had to be in the organization a year with NFL training and conditioning and book work etc. Corral in the short term may actually be the best option among all but maybe one of these QBs. I think he makes a good case for #1 on this list because his already being a NFL player, in the facility, etc. He has a yearlong head start on all these rookies coming out. I'm very curious to see if we've actually fallen into our own Russell Wilson, Tom Brady situation. Don't care what the doubters say. You can build a winner without the financial burden of a first round QBs contract. If Corral works out he a steal and a deal.
  7. That was a 65yrd bomb. Accurate on the money. He ran away and reset his feet and fired off a 65yrder so rapidly right there.
  8. Young will drop so he may become the value pick. Corral is ahead of Young in the physicality department though, bigger man. People call Corral "smallish" 6'2" is closer to the NFL average of 6'3" for QBs than not. The man was running over guys or trying to run over them. Aggressive. A natural RB type of dual threat. He has that dog in him for sure. That's why he played in that bowl game and reinjured himself. Like I said, that aggression managed by the right coach could be special.
  9. Matt Corral has heart he plays bigger than 6'2" 210lbs. He was attacking DBs and even LBs as a runner. While you don't want him trying to truck guys in the NFL as a QB it just shows the aggressive nature of Corral the football player. He's no sissy QB he's a football player he'll hit and get hit, it's all football to him much like Cam he's not just playing QB he's playing football. Players like that need to be protected and managed because otherwise they're completely fearless. I think with proper management and just a little more work on reigning in that arm and cutting down on overthrowing guys on deep passes he'll be a Aaron Rodgers type of player.
  10. I agree with that statement on Falcons Mike Vick, Eagles Mike Vick was a much improved passer. He used that big arm instead of his legs.
  11. Others trash is our treasure. Let's keep this guy, find minutes. He's a NC state guy so his comfort level is showing. Glad he's here and as long as he can stay healthy sky is the limit.
  12. He'll be a great backup to Melo. I predict DSJ will be the best backup PG in the league this season.
  13. I'm just hoping Corral becomes our diamond in the rough, Russell Wilson(3rd), Tom Brady(6th) steal of that draft. If he is and we can pick up a DE like Myles Murphy out of Clemson, two birds meet stone.
  14. There wasn't a sure shot QB last season. The Panthers, needing a QB, drafted an OT with the number six pick. Not Pickett, not Willis, not Corral. There's not a sure shot QB this year either, neither Young, Stroud or Levis is a top tier pick at QB. I totally agree. Get as many wins as you can BUT it's probably unlikely they pick any of these guys at QB with a top 5-10 pick. The risk would be huge taking any of these QBs this year top ten. Although I'm on the Levis as the top pick of this group bandwagon, I still don't think Levis is a bonafide top 10 pick, more like a late first, second round guy. Not to high on this class at all. If there was a Cam in this draft I'd be all in but there is not. I see us going BPA or something close to it.
  15. If we include the Hornets this would be the most miserable thread in huddle history.
  16. He's got more to show as a coach. Can he get them focused and win the next game? If he can go on a run with this team then it's deserved. He doesn't deserve a job for this loss.
  17. This draft doesn't have a clear #1 QB. Like last year there is a lot of distortion. Levis had a better OC last season, no question. Is that what's really up this year or is it being in the radar and needing to adjust or not? Stroud did good today, got rolling. The open receiver stat scares the heck out of me. Frontrunner theory overshadows both him and Young. Just can't get past it. Although Matt Corral came out and said he regretted not going to a frontrunner program I respect that, underdog theory.
  18. Only QB signed for 2023. That's what they thought. They wanted him they went and got him. Now you think they won't play him?
