  1. This is a playoff team with Melo and DSJ back. This squad fights till the end. Guys we didn't even know we had are all of a sudden ballers. Nick Richards and Mason Plumlee and Kai Jones... Nobody expected us to all of a sudden have three good options at C with Mark Williams in waiting. Kelly Oubre... 28pts. Miles Bridges who? Nobody knew. Tsunami Popping is becoming a star in this league, balling! PJ Washington... Strong! Pay that man. I was sure. He hit a slump. I wasn't so sure. Last couple games?! Pay that man. He's a leader. Steve Clifford...
  2. From what I got to see Sam was the best QB among him Baker and PJ. I watched fan fest closely while everyone was chatting away. Sam was the only one constantly moving the ball and when Sam scrambled it was for positive yards. He'd actually be a good backup for Corral.
  3. I'll raise you 50 passing yards and one TD. I'm thinking 20-30 rushing yards, but I smell what you're cooking. Just because it's meaningless Sam will have a comeback player of the year type of game. 250 passing, 2TDs, 17.5yrds rushing, 0ints.
  4. The biggest problem is we've never had a great QB coach/OC. Having been through Matt Rhule I'd want to stay far away from upstarts at this time. We need an experienced NFL coach to get the most out of all three phases. Frank Reich Lane Kiffin Jim Harbaugh All these guys have NFL head coaching experience and are offensive minded.
  5. I'd give Lane Kiffin a shot. NFL pedigree. Former NFL HC. His QB is already here so it should be plug and play between Kiffin's offense and Matt Corral.
  6. Untarnished? Frank Reich was the actual adult in the room and ownership wanted roster control. He made pretty good lemonade out of lemons. Is Tepper as batsh*t as Irsay? No. This would be greener grass for a offensive minded coach with head coaching experience like Frank Reich. Oh, and legacy, Panthers legacy, he brings that. If he can get the Panthers back to 1996 form like when he was bleeding for the black and blue. Win win. Reich being let go by the crazy man may be a blessing in disguise for both the Panthers and Reich. It's a match.
  7. Frank deserves the chance. He's already in NC too. His family is here. He battled an won for us. He can do it again. He's a built-in QB coach. No brainier. CheezMo! You know Frank. Get him in the building.
  8. I'll take this. Only two losing seasons among the chaos that is the Colts.
  9. I'll take Frank over any of those guys. My body is ready for a former Panther to become HC!
  10. Somebody who had total autonomy who still blames others is a insane Fhule.
  11. Baker doesn't allow plays to develop and has absolutely no pocket mobility. I've seen PJ sidestep rushers or sidestep into another throwing lane because hands are up.
  12. Sam Darnold is making 19M this year. Baker is not a reason for Sam not to at least EARN some of that paycheck. Until PJ gets back Sam should start. You guys are complaining but I was going into the season holding my nose at QB, especially after Young Lion was IR'd. There is no great choice at QB. Sam can win you a couple games though. Despite what the Baker Bros think, Sam IS a better QB than Baker. It was obvious in camp, preseason, etc. Rhule just couldn't resist his insane desire for another wayward QB.
  13. Levis can also be bowling ball like at 6'3"230lbs. He's got wheels and runs with power, AND that arm, and pedigree, a family of QBs from Grandpappy down.
  14. Try and keep 6'5" 240lb Kyle Trask out of the end zone with the ball near the goal line. +
  15. Standards. Thx to whomever posted it here but the average height for an NFL QB is 6'3" that happens to be the same for an NFL DT. Teams get in trouble when they ignore those standards and bet on a guy who is massively undersized. Are there 6'1" DTs? Yes there are but they're below the average. Matt Corral is listed at 6'2", an inch below the NFL average so to me that's a -. My next question would be accuracy and skill and any intangibles (mobility, run threat, pocket awareness, pocket movement, IQ). Does Matt Corral have any intangibles to make up for, to me, below average NFL QB height? To me accuracy is above everything so Baker would automatically be scratched. Matt Corral is an above average runner for a QB, I went back and looked at his college tapes and the guy actually trucked, CBs and LBs, fearless as a runner. Run threat. Mobility? Corral is very accurate on the run, I actually can't wait to see him play some NFL games. That will be fun to watch. Play action is his forte. Pocket awareness, pocket movement? Corral and PJ are very similar players. Corral is obviously taller and a much more physical, aggressive player in the open field but they can both stand in the pocket and navigate that area to buy time. Baker runs. So put that all together Corral is probably a B+ in the NFL. Nobody grades the same but that's where I'd start. This is why MONTHS ago I said Levis was the best QB in this draft.
  16. The offense looked fine with PJ. Baker doesn't have the stones to stand in the pocket he panics. Even Sam would be a better choice and Sam is making 19M, he should be made to earn it.
  17. Your narrative doesn't include 1min in an NFL game. Misguided hateraid on the man. Hope he feeds you crow.
  18. DJ looked just fine when PJ was in the pocket extending plays putting it in DJs hands every series.
  19. And looks exactly the same. No progress. Bad QB. In hindsight, terrible mistake by the Browns, BAKER should have been a third rounder. Instead you want to drag a guy who hasn't had his opportunity down with the likes of Baker Mayfield. The false narrative needs to stop. Pick it back up after he's had a couple live NFL snaps hot rod.
  20. That's all I've been saying. We can't pass on a generational talent at DE in Myles Murphy or Will Anderson for Will Levis, who is emerging as the best bet at QB in this draft. I called it here on this site months ago. Payton Manning agreed and so does this guy. I don't think Will Levis should be top ten. Where does that leave the others?! They're dropping. Value draft again.
  21. I'm asking you. Who has the better roster? The point the Op makes about having done more with less and having already dealt with adversity similar to a QB on a struggling NFL squad (because that's what it will be) is very valid.
  22. I as well as Payton Manning were saying so before this Op. It's an indictment on this draft class more than anything. You don't have to tank for the best QB in this class. Frontrunner team QBs are naturally suspect and shouldn't be reached for.
