How long have you been here? Me? Since panthershuddle.com. Its highly unlikely. I'm a Panthers fan, Cub fan, Bears fan and a fan of the downtrodden, the underdog... The ones they (you) doubt like the Golden One.

I love jokes. Not funny when there's no element of Truth. What's funny will be when Corral finally plays and shows a the self hating mouth breathers around here, what's really up. The fact Fields is even being discussed should tell you something but you hate Corral and think the Bears QBs are legit...
-
That's what I'm trying to tell you. Any assessment of Corral vs Fields until there is a sample size is futile, conjecture, foolish talk. I will stand by saying Corral has a larger skill set, is also a good open field threat(too brave, trying to truck LBs, he did OK) and a much more accurate QB, just as good throwing on the run on broken plays. Better touch on the ball. Dare I say more zip from what I saw from MC in camp at least equal. Nobody knows about Corral in real game NFL minutes. He's a well insulated, coddled and bubble wrapped ?mark.

The best QB in hearts of Bears fans is Jim McMahon, that was 1985. The real best Bears QB in history was Jay Cutler. What about THAT says QB factory. I was born into Beardom but the luck with QBs hasn't been there. Fields isn't an outlier, he's falling more in line with the trend. Pass. I'd trade for something else besides him in return for the pick. Let them figure that one out.
-
Head in the clouds? You're saying Fields is a better QB at QBing than Matt Corral, who iirc could have went to Ohio State and probably had THAT job. YOU are claiming Fields is a better QB than Corral. The known vs the unknown. Brave man. So you're ok with this on your record. I'm ok with saying yes, Corral is more skilled in the little I've seen more than what I've hoped and tragically not seen from Fields. Only flashes.

#9 isn't such a bad place to be this draft. Just chill. A bunch of big names, potential elites will still be there.
-
That trade including #9 would bite us in the a**. A guy more limited in return for a more skilled player. If I wasn't a Panthers fan I'd take that trade as a Bears fan, I've already watched Fields. Shipping #9 off not even having looked at him, unless it's for #1 and Maye would be a exercise in futility.
-
Corral is a more skilled more accurate Justin Fields. I like both players because I can't legally hate a Panther or a Bear but Corral is the better player. More tricks in his bag.
-
Corral has been a Panther almost a year now. They said when they drafted him that he wasn't intended to play that season. Illogical is coming on here trying to tell me this guy isn't going to play at all "because". They invested all kinds of money into hosting Corral predraft, due diligence private investigations predraft, after draft, drafted a LT moved up to draft said player already having had him in house predraft, talked to his family, his high school coach, his college coach, evaluated by the Panthers scouts and OC and put down as QB1 on their big board PREDRAFT, the guy with a key card at BofA and cashing David Teppers paychecks, that guy will never see the field YOU say. Bust before the first snap you say.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
rippadonn replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
How many of them can match Corrals two years at Ole Miss. Completion percentage, find me a match. Rushing yards, find me a match. Taller more physical than young equal "instincts" as Rhule called them, equal or better arm talent than the top three. Stats. facts. Back up your assertions with researchable or previously researched facts instead of this uninformed mantra home team haters spew over a player that has done no harm yet. Hasn't made a play good or bad yet is already trash when he wasn't trash in college just the opposite. He was in the running for the Heisman instead. Those who forget history are destined to be smacked in the mouth by it. If Corral stays in any ways healthy. Crow will be served and the haters FEAR it. Delicious. -

Let go to play for the Patriots. Half the QBs in the league would love to be "cooked" if it means getting two more jobs after you were incorrectly branded as "shot" or "cooked". False. You're jumping the gun hot rod. Nobody here has seen Corral play with a NFL line yet. Did YOU somehow witness such a thing in your own delusion?

I'm really starting not to care about the debate part of it, and it may partly be my fault but I don't understand how so called Panther fans could launch a campaign of hate on a guy just trying to make it. A guy who desperately wants to be your QB. A guy who NEVER got a chance to play or practice with his actual NFL peers, left to be ridiculed and judge for a rag tag couple snaps with future car salesmen, not NFL players. Give the man a damn break and let's give him the benefit of the doubt and if you're a real Panthers fan some f'n support for a QB they feel like they stole who hasn't played a damn snap in the NFL. Let him play. IF HE SUCKS. I'll be the first to say so. If he doesn't and he's actually Matt Corral, older, stronger, heavier, wiser, 2ND year player and better than college:-) we're in a Pete Carroll, Russell Wilson situation with enough cap left from Corrals reasonable contract to pay stars around him. Yeah, we all want that first rounder but they can become a financial albatross come contract time. Exactly why Tepper didn't want to touch Cams new contract id assume. So either you pay or they walk or they just end up like Sam or Baker or Zack or Blaine Gabbert.
-
Rpo, rolling out, throwing on the run with accuracy, great zip on his ball, tight spiral almost bounces off his hands much like Cam, very quick release, very mobile, runs with great vision much like a RB, very good accuracy on fade routes, damn good, he was the only QB in camp to swish that drill twice. Only thing was they've always said he needed more than 212lbs on his 6'2" frame the way he runs and creates contact in the open field. YOU choose not to see what's been before everyones eyes. He was Matt Corral BEFORE the NFL or the Panthers came knocking, and they did knock, before the draft. Stop hating. Show a Panther love.

No better man to evaluate and build a QB. IF he gets anything out of Corral like getting him to be a top 15QB, with a top five defense a QB like that can win. That third rounder contract would be GOLD while we built a complete team. Look at Andrew Luck. He quit. Even had he not quit that first rounder contract would have crippled what the team could do around him. Sometimes it's better to not have the burden if paying a top tier QB when a less costly almost as skilled QB not making mistakes and a top five defense will get a team much farther. That's what coach was explaining.
-
You didn't listen to coach did you? He said to stay in the hunt for a championship, to stay a playoff team you need a top five defense. Believe me, he loves defense, you're getting a balanced HC, not a hot shot OC trying to make a name. He wouldn't have gotten the job without having a defensive philosophy.
-
I'd do this EXACT same thing next year for Drake Maye or that class. There's nobody this year that's a clear #1QB lock. Maybe Stroud, but that's it and I'm on the Will Levis bandwagon as top value. Coach sounds like he wants a top five defense before worrying so much about offense. Smart. So this year Id draft Myles Murphy by moving up a spot or two. Or sit at nine and get Tyree Wilson a 6'6 275 quick agile DE monster also OR 6'4" WR Quinton Johnston. Run Corral to see if he's up to task. If he's not go ALL THE WAY OUT on homeboy Drake Maye. Lots of ways to go.
-
It's funny how he back tracked on Cam. It's probably because for all his "NFL experience" people probably mostly ask him about Cam. NOW that bridge is valued after the NFL when he tossed a match on Cam and his career few short years ago. He's trying to arrange NFL visits and his top get is Robbie Anderson.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral

How many of those guys were considered the top player at QB those years, not many id assume, more breakout performances if id venture to guess. Good numbers indicate better potential success than bad #'s so I don't get your point there. Corral put together a 69% completion year after 72% the previous year. Consistency. High level at that. There's something there even if Golden Corral haters choose not to acknowledge it. Steak and desert. I'll put my money on good stats and actually playing and beating actual teams and players. Will Anderson said Corral was the best he'd played against when asked a couple months back. That's an actual witness, not the huddle snarks. -

The Young lovers will have their way. He's this years bargain high risk/high reward. The way physical attributes are coveted in the NFL a guy like Richardson could easily leapfrog Young much like Levis has. -
Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral

The narrative totally ignores what this kid was doing in the SEC before any of us here were even paying attention. They want to discredit who he was as the top QB in the SEC in 2021. That wasn't gimmick plays, it was Corral executing those plays, lifting a rag tag middle of the pack SEC squad to unimagined success. Their best QB since Eli. He continued with a solid season the next year despite injury. He shouldn't have played in the Bowl game in hindsight. -
