Rumor: The Prodigal Son And The Road Home
rippadonn replied to rippadonn's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol. You Derek Carr fan boys don't know a good QB when you see one. Must be some Baker Boys in this bunch too. Look at stats and body of work. Jones, without much help has put up very impressive numbers and has a some very good games throwing and running the football. You guys loved Baker Mayfield. Lol. Enough said. -

I responded to your uninformed side of the neck statement. Those players were good BEFORE I ever knew them. Slandering them to out piss ripp is lame. Do some research like I do. Stop coming with nonsense and nothing to add to the conversation about Daniel Jones. Charlotte's best home grown QB so far. -

They're balking at his agents $45M and proposing a franchise tag. The negotiations have been sour for months now. They told him to bet on himself, he did, he played like a franchise QB for two years in a row, he deserves to decide his landing spot after playing for those mostly ungrateful fans so yeah, the agent throwing out that huge number is a opening salvo saying back off and let him see the open market, NY probably wants to do a sign and trade to at least get something in return. The marriage is over. My logic is undeniable. -

Like Justin Herbert? Kyle Trask 3yr NFL player, Micah Parsons? If that's a kiss the Panthers sure need it. Matt Corral IS Aaron Rodgers in a younger faster body, just as a accurate on the run, more dangerous running if left alone, great arm , zip , velocity, same height. Lol, August can't come soon enough. -

Talk to your fellow NYers THAT rumor came from them. Daniel wants out. They never loved him like they should have, now they love him. Too late. I think he will force a sign and trade. He's done with y'all. -

I see the Panthers picking #9 this draft. I know EVERY fanbase wants their team to go after the hottest new college prospects but at what cost? As you said one of the hottest college players from 21' and 22' is here already. From everything I've seen the Panthers do since Fitt, I don't see them going all out on a QB when they went and got one THEY thought was pretty damn good and needed time to adjust to the NFL already. THEY drafted him THEY will want to see what he's got in the tank. That's why I find all the QB bluster here very unrealistic. -

I'm soooo glad Carr signed with NO instead of us. Now watch them crash and burn. -

TDs, TDs, if you are throwing to JAGS 69% completion percentage ain't getting you touchdowns AND with Barkley chances for running TDs go up the closer they get to the RedZone so why wouldn't NY send Barkley in for those TDs?! Especially with nobody at WR or TE. What is THAT stat line supposed to look like with no receivers and a star RB? Daniel Jones is beating as a QB right now. Only way to prove it is to get out of NY, HE knows that. Continue to sleep on Dan Jones to your own folly. -

Name a good receiver or TE in the Daniel Jones era of NY football..... They conveniently forget his rushing TDs dual threat, can't leave those out. He also lead the NFC in QB rushing yards a couple years back. There's a reason his supposed price is so high, because he played his ass off despite not having elite receivers almost his whole career. -

So, yards, completion percentage, low INT, QBR mean nothing to you huh? They never built around DJ everybody knows that, even Giants fans. -

Lol, you guys wanna always crush a dream, lol. It's more realistic than us NOT picking the ninth player. You should be on board with this. That would be a great Charlotte story AND a legitimate Cam replacement from a kid who watched the MVP and dreamed of being him. Daniel wants to come home. NY? Not sure he really wants to be there anymore he bet on himself when THEY didn't and he deserves his reward and TO HIM the perfect reward would be a Panthers helmet. -

Again, did Daniel Jones ever have people like DJ Moore, Terrace Marshall? Did he even have a TE like Ian Thomas or Tommy Tremble? No. Never. He got the curse of Cam. They never built around him. Too much turnover, too much turmoil. He stuck it out and improved himself and showed out the last couple seasons. ONLY the Panthers would be the obvious team NOT to pay $45mill for Daniel Jones. What will most likely happen NOW NY has realized Daniel was hot stuff too late, is a franchise tag and trade situation. -

Listen it's not like one of my in-laws was one of his coaches in highschool and I would finally be kind of in the social circle of the homegrown Panthers QB. Not at all. -

Daniel wants out of NY. They're the one's who didn't bet on him, instead they gave a RB that love. Daniel bet on himself on his last contract year and carried that offense in a Cam like fashion. This is a huge opportunity for the Panthers to come into that situation and take DJ off their hands. -

Doesn't conform to your groupthink, I know. Name a better option on the FA market then..... Nobody else measures up in statistics, age, accuracy, ability, low INT, AND as a top 15-20 QB as he stands now a EASY hometown discount candidate. The franchise QB problem would be solved and our QB room would be fearsome. -
My good friend who's a huge Giants fan sent me this this morning. The rumor from Giants fans is big Daniel Jones has his eyes on returning home to Charlotte and obviously his favorite team growing up in Charlotte your Carolina Panthers. There's no question Danny Jones played his butt off this last season and basically carried that offense until they ran into a real playoff contender a more complete roster. Not a popular choice here but Daniel Jones at 6'5" 230+ with 67% completion percentage in the NFL (Brady,Brees level), a gifted run threat with the size and strength to get those tough yards, arm, accuracy. Derek Carr!? Daniel Jones is a SUPERIOR QB look at all his rankings. Yards, INTS, QBR?! Nothing below top 15, nothing. He never had receivers or a line in front of him like we have now so with targets instead of JAGS all those stats will rise, and if they do the already special DJ will be a f'n problem for the NFL AND he wants to do that for his state, his city, his family. Daniel Jones! I welcome you.

They MUST be highly confident and self assured, that scares less confident folk and can come off as ego or arrogance.

The CURRENT owner and GM who are usually instrumental in picking ANY QB and especially one they fly in BEFORE the draft and sign off on moving up in the draft for are STILL in charge. THEY were Corral fans before the draft. He was in the building meeting everyone before that draft clock started. Us Corral hopeful aren't the delusional ones here.
-
At the same time leading a public campaign against a PANTHER before his first snap. Fitterer said he was a developmental pick meaning he was valued by them before and after the draft clock started, despite the jibber jabber. The guy was a blue chip who could have gone to OU but chose the tougher road to prove it to himself. He had a good/great college career that is in the books, playing QB in the SEC and made Will Anderson Jr a believer, so where does all the doubt come from? An amateur football coach football camp. From all the stats, the pedigree, the adversity, the mentality on the field there should be much less doubt about Matt Corral as a QB than there is. Hasn't......played......a down. So a blue chip recruit to the SEC who was courted by top SEC programs, played his way into being widely considered a late first rounder in the NFL draft, BEFORE the draft by....just about everyone without a crystal ball or obvious hindsight, is a bust before game one!? C'mon. The Panthers heavily scouted drafted, interviewed and investigated, poked, prodded and caressed and coddled (Rhule) Matt Corral and that's the guy that's not going to see the field according to the huddle pontificators with their side of the neck "I know they hate him like I do" speech?
