  1. Cam ran a 4.54 if I remember correctly. I said he doesn't have Cams experience, so no,he isn't Cam. AR ran a 4.4 and looks very much like Cam and what he did to folk as a runner. This guy is the closest you're going to get to another Cam in maybe another thirteen years. Of course this guy isn't Cam but they've been gifted with all the same traits, size, weight, speed, elite cannon(a trainer said all time strongest), elite athlete. He could be Cam, he could be more than Cam. Take Cam and add a sprinkle more speed and agility and NOW a professional QB coach/HC that sees the second coming and wants the huge task as a coach to take the best arm to come out in a decade. Sign me up, I don't care. Like I said here before, AR is a coaches dream and a singular reason for a GM to drink heavily.
  2. He's a Cam replacement if there ever was one and apparently they only come every thirteen years. TD, Smitty seem to be on his train, or genuinely like the guy. If coach is ok with AR, I won't be mad at him for choosing HIS guy.
  3. Maybe the coach thinks he's an off-season, training camp project and because of all of his traits could start and actually compete while getting more games under his belt of which he has few. Maybe Reich watched the tape, watched him at the combine, pro day and dinner and he sees a much much higher ceiling for AR-15 than even STROUD. The truth is if that's the case I'm OK with it because as a Panthers fan I know exactly the advantage we had with Cam, this guy aside from game experience is a carbon copy, total Cam vibes. His roof is the sky.
  4. Big Ben would have guys hit him and slide off, Russ, not guite sure there. Buying time was part of Bakers game, not so good, Sam was billed as dual threat, he tried to buy time with his feet and got put out for the season. There IS no time in the NFL. STROUDS game fits the NFL, reading, throwing on flatform, precision passes, scramble as last resort. We've NEEDED that kind of QB. Cam was fun and could buy time but with 6'5" 240lbs he made others PAY.
  5. Somebody still has the rights to Kyle Trask and Carson Strong is playing for the Panthers working his way back from injury to the NFL again. Stop hating.
  6. I thought the same thing until a saw him next to AR-15 putting on a gun show. Extra 5-10 he's good. He will be elite. His being able to actually stand in the pocket and deliver pin point strikes will translate immediately in the NFL. The Young "buying time" argument is futile. That becomes less to none at the next level.
  7. Those two teams are rumored to like AR-15. It could happen. Bryce is the...
  8. I just don't want to see the inevitable happen. If he's that great of an athlete he needs to change positions in the NFL to maybe WR for his own safety and chance of actually having a long NFL career. Matt Corral and CJ Stroud are at the NFL average height but ideally body wise you need a AR, Cam, Big Ben(early), Dan Jones, Manning, Levis, Herbert body type to survive behind the trenches is a super big, super strong, super fast NFL. Drew Brees, Doug Flutie, Russell Wilson are not the norm, but acceptions. Young is a huge mistake, years ago as skilled as he is he'd be a position change candidate instead of this kooky #1 QB talk. He doesn't have the required size for the next level and will struggle to put on and hold weight.
  9. Scary, but imagine a full grown 30yr old man delivering that. Whole different league. I'm already holding my breath if that's my QB, but 5'10" 190lbs wet Bryce. I'd have a heart attack every time that happened and Young just has that Robby Anderson build that doesn't bode well to getting rocked. I've watched Chosen get rocked quite a few times and get up slowly and those weren't DTs or LBs iirc.
  10. Wimps were raising wimps. I was MMA when Ken Shamrock was doing it and Larry Hartsell was still alive. Real men back then. Boxing was losing the best prospects to football and basketball. Hometown guy Calvin Brock did it for a minute, I used to catch up to him at Spectrum Center before and after that big fight with Klitschko. He just slid into that last generation of good/great Heavyweights Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Klitschko. I remember Kendall Gill was doing good boxing for a while there, he got serious much too late for boxings taste. I met a 7' boxer and I kind of said the same thing to him as I'm saying about Bryce Young in, who the hell is going to jump on a ticket with someone five inches taller, heavier and longer reach than 6'7" Klitschko and 6'6" Lewis?! I told him MMA might be a better look. Hope he's ok. I'm with you, we need more big guys boxing, etc. Boxing and martial arts is a hard sell these days when everyone wants everything NOW Matrix style, nobody is tough, 911 and lawsuits are the new brass knuckles for chumps that usually start it, and as anyone in fighting sports knows, that black eye will come. How many people quit when that happens or the going gets tough? Lot's. The self discipline, critical thinking involved in the training of these arts is well needed but is of no value these days. The only time I had to use any training in real life was to not fight(which this person wanted) but gently and humanely subdue a rowdy ex trying to wreck moms house and maybe log a 911, not sure, that was many years ago. All those checks to sensei, soki, sifu paid off, no domestic charges and no clink Well worth the money. Slowed down a lot these days though. I recommend everyone take something, especially starting young. Us old folk can find a Tai Chi class
  11. Using that rational the NFL shouldn't either. 6'3" 300lb DTs are super duper heavyweights vs a welterweight.
  12. Who you got in a boxing match? Young vs STROUD? Wrestling match Young vs Stroud? I'm tired of all the blah blah blah. Make em' fight for it. If Young kicks STROUDS ass I'll accept his leadership.
  13. "young doesnt have the quick speed like a murray/vick......If he did Id have a much harder time..." Usually when we're talking about elite talent in the NFL they aren't one or two dimensional. What Vick and Murray give up in size they made up for with speed, especially Vick. All the improvisational stuff will be studied and taken away by NFL DCs a little every game until you have to rely on the fundamentals to win at QB because there is no extra time to buy in the NFL. Those rainbows and cupcakes won't happen enough to actually win games. Someone speaking on STROUD said if they didn't cover every option he'd find the open man and make them pay every time. That's system, reading, throwing on platform, sounds like building on rock not the sands of improvisation. And the nail in the coffin...
  14. Put them both in a room, to the death. There can be only one! Bets?!
  15. Yes small vs big. Not too hard too predict. He's got small bones not even Kyler Murray big bones. Take that risk on someone else's dime and time, cool but...
  16. If you pick Young and he breaks in a year or two or can't stay on the field like Kyler has yet to, yeah GM gets fired for screwing up the #1 pick while STROUD is out there balling. Young will have to play under center more, scramble less, get the ball out faster. That's a lot to improve plus he's undersized. Too much risk for #1. Guys loving him up but when he breaks...
