The good ol' days.

Pep was big but also very fast. I remember him almost catching Mike Vick one game.

A college coach got the keys to fleet much too fast. That much control is usually reserved for well seasoned coaches. It's not that he hired Rhule it's that he let him run things without a safety net. It wasn't done properly. The result would have been better had he actually kept Marty to manage things ahead of Rhule than to throw a college coach all the keys to the whole fleet without ANY GM to guide him into the NFL. Instead Rhule is picking his own GM?! When he sucks, who's going to hold him accountable? That's why it's all screwed and needs NFL GM, coach help asap. If he allows Fitts and Dan to now hire a coach, maybe then you start to right the ship.

Unfortunately we have to give him the opportunity to learn and correct. Although many don't agree, Cam was a huge course correction on his part. He logically went back to square one, the first Rhule mistake and corrected it. The smart thing to do to get this team going would be an NFL coach and FINALLY building the Oline, something we've been crying about for at least 10-20yrs.

This isn't a bad roster. They just don't have professional guidance. When you come into a locker room with guys who have played in Championship games and Superbowls even and you want THEM to buy in!? C'mon man, YOU need to buy in and learn the ropes from these guys and others in a way. You can't come in like your taking THEM to school. Dude, you just came from school. Humility over control dude, now look. Teppers fault, yes, time for HIM to clean it up and bring in an NFL staff and stop thinking academia and analytics can defeat the NFL. You ain't schooling grown men. You have to lead them.

Yeah, either one has more NFL experience than Rhule, thus would be better than what we've got. Plus, ownership, although he may, shouldn't have the stomach for another high dollar coaching mistake after what he did with Rhule. I'm on the Scott Turner wagon although that's not the sexy name like Daboll. His NFL pedigree and resources are impeccable and he's a good/creative offensive mind. No they're not talking but they should be.

Scott has OC experience as a Panthers coach and Washington. I really think he's ready, more ready than Rhule was. Having Norv Turner on speed dial, really helps too. Chud having been an OC and that one year as a head coach is more ready than Rhule. Chud had a super creative offense and had a rhythm calling plays, and knew how to call plays on down and distance. Cleveland will always suck. Belichick was fired after one year in Cleveland too. That might just be a badge of honor.

Positional needs vs availability. There are far less OT, QB NFL body types. (6'3"+ 220lbs++) Nature has given us plenty LB, CB body types. (5'10"+ 210lbs++) Freaks of nature should be first on your list. That's why QB,DE,LT are so much more valuable because the need for size at those positions and fewer prospects. NFL coaches should know this already.

I'd retain Phil Snow as assistant head coach. I'd bring in Scott Turner as HC/OC. Wholesale change is overrated and often underdelivers. If not that I'd turn it all over to Jon Gruden(pricey). My third guy...Rod Chudzinsky , head coaching experience, offensive guru especially with TEs, former Panther coach(like Scott), Knows Cam and could quickly put together an offense to get the most out of Cam and the other QBs. Rod deserves another shot at HC. There would be no better organization, QB or opportunity for him personally. Being here in Charlotte, although it's a hidden gem, it doesn't have the big market pull but if you can take advantage of talent that has been here already the almost always ready willing and hopeful to come back to Charlotte. That's who Scott Turner is and same with Chud. They know this city.

Scott better call Scott.

Scott Turner would be perfect. He has decades of experience to pull from. NFL pedigree. Knows your organization. Knows Cam, knows CMC. Offensive specialist. *OFFICIAL SCOTT TURNER BANDWAGON MEMBER*

For once in franchise history, somebody be the first to rebuild our Oline into a perineal top 10 unit. There you go THAT'S the rebuild we've always needed. Not this other garbage.
