  1. Can we agree that Pickett in the real world is a third rounder. All the QBs in this draft are developmental. Compared to last year these guys are are second rounders. Ok, the ligament. If anything youth is on his side. I stand on second or third round value for Strong. His size, weight, ability transfer well to the NFL unlike the two under 6' guys and a cannon unlike Pickett. An arm like that, used properly you don't have to dink and dunk, you can get behind a defense sometimes. He's not the one being hyped, Zack Wilson had shoulder surgery, not saying the Jets can pick QBs.
  2. I'd take a chance on a promising young NFL prospect with all the intangibles moving up in the third or late second, 6'4"great stats, big arm only a junior young rookie contract, with upside, before I'd waste a #6 on Pickett and continue to have a shtty Oline. Yes, all day!
  3. Game tape. Prior performance. Talent. Size 6'4". Youth. Cannon arm(helps in the NFL with speed receivers). 4186yrds 36td only 8ints. He's the steal. Him sitting behind Cam and Sam and having him compete for the starting QB in a year or two. Better than Will Grier. Get a Monster Mollie #6, play your vet QB. Feature Sam in the preseason for interested parties. The following year the rookie with the arm and NFL level preparation watching a pro do it will be next man up ready to give #1 a proper retirement that year or next. Need that OL to get back to running and throwing and winning. A come up in a weak QB market isn't a bad thing especially in the third or late second if they could pull it off. The radar isn't in Strong and that's a good thing if you recognize this guy has all the prototypical tools for NFL success.
  4. Unfortunately this is somebody Rhule knows intimately so there's that love affair. I hope they go younger.
  5. When was the last time a five year starter got picked as the 1st QB off the board? I can't remember because those guys are usually picked later, much later. Mistake. Fhules Gold
  6. He didn't declare until his fifth year? If he was NFL material he would have declared or drawn NFL eyes way before being a fifth year player. Upside is missing.
  7. He's scared. Looking like a coward so far. Brass balls on a desk doesn't make the man. Get em' surgically implanted, then you're talking.
  8. In the real world a 5 year starter gets a look in the 3 round or so like Russ Wilson. You don't draft a guy like that at #6, you just don't. That's foolishness. Physical tools. Measurables, Upside. Youth(rookie contract) None of those things applies to Pickett. Aside from all the hype and looking through the QB Class, this metric applies to Carson Strong. Upside. Big arm. Just enough height and weight to help him flourish. To me his height puts him above Howell, Willis. His arm puts him ahead of Pickett by far. Stats: 4186 yds, 36tds, 8ints This is the dark horse. He should be at the top. Plus he's only a junior. That's upside and something you can and should hitch your franchise to. A fifth year senior?! Absolutely ludicrous. Clown move.
  9. They had Marty in Oregon salivating over Justin Herbert, to my great excitement only to draft D.Brown instead. They passed on a QB in the deepest QB draft in a decade to draft a CB. Now Rhule is trying to pull off another home town hookup to further crash this franchise into the dirt. This guy's obsession with only people he's tried to recruit or has played for him before is the #1 mistake of his NFL HC tenure. He didn't coach at an elite program thus players he could recruit were not of the elite variety, tweeters, overachievers. It doesn't work. He's on the hotseat. Jim Harbaugh had the opposite results in his HC stint. Built a no nonsense approach and marched that team to a Superbowl. Not this destroying to "build" failure. Pay Harbaugh. Unless you are losing and flopping on purpose.... Plus I'd rather have a real former NFL QB and HC pick our next QB not this absolute stupidity that the media is now mocking lusting after a five year starter. THATS not who you draft at #6.
  10. Same was said about every Jets QB picked high in the draft. Most of these gurus have absolutely no f'n idea and the Jets were suckers every time. Our formula should have started with the word "professional".
  11. They picked Rhule like the Jets pick QBs, the hot commodity. Not knowing that most people don't know what they're talking about and that prototypes exist for a reason.
  12. See, Harbaugh back in the NFL trying to get the Panthers back into the Superbowl to finally win it is a much better storyline than Rhule trying desperately to pull up on the sticks of a nose down take off attempt to be an NFL HC. Rhule may know that he's best suited with the college culture. Make everybody happy Tepp. Harbaugh would probably love to hear from you and Michigan can get a college coach with NFL experience for whatever that's worth.
  13. Tepper! Trade Rhule for Harbuagh! Your coach wants to go back to college and a no nonsense NFL proven coach wants to come back and thump the league again. Win win win.
  14. To get into the second? Nah, package a player or two and it's all good.
  15. Draft an OT at #6 and try like heck to get Stronger at QB by moving back up into the second and drafting Carson Strong. Last draft I advocated for us picking Parsons/Pitts in the first and Kyle Trask in the second. I hope they'd look back at how that would have been a damn good draft decision. Again, Hog Mollie Olineman in the first, try like heck to get into the second round for a QB with a Strong arm. Strong.
  16. I was on the *OFFICIAL JUSTIN HERBERT BANDWAGON* and begging Fhule to listen to Marty on that one. I'm on the *OFFICIAL CARSON STRONG BANDWAGON* Of course Mr. Hometown Hookup thinks Pickett is Hebert when we all know Pickett is Chris Weinke.
