Rod Boone has dropped two names in the coaching search

Charles Oakley is a guy who fits that profile. He's coaching. -
Rod Boone has dropped two names in the coaching search

An upstart coach with questionable NBA pedigree is a step back. They need somebody with that to take them over the playoff hump that was Borrego's weakness. Somebody who has done it and won it. Out of the box, way out, somebody like Kendrick Perkins, give somebody who has been a player won a championship give somebody like that a shot. He's as LaMelo-stan as you can get. Steve Kerr. Steve Nash, Doc Rivers. Players respect those guys and will follow them. Players respect somebody who has been to the mountaintop. If MJ is for real he should coach his own team. Players would have nightmares. He'd be tough as heck. How could you not listen to MJ as a player though? He may be a better coach than owner. Not totally serious, but MJ on the sidelines would be box-office. -
Pie because I never believed the 5th year Pickett, Willis smokescreen. Certain guys were first rounders until all of a sudden it's Pickett and Willis on top.

All the QBs slid. Some like Corral much farther than anybody thought.
-
Eagles got an absolute steal in Carson Strong. Corral is absolute steal. Those two were the most accurate young QBs in the draft. Both Strong(knee) and Corral(off field/injuries) were first round rated by most but injuries and off-field stuff set them back. If they play anywhere close to their levels of accuracy in college they should both be good.

Had a business partner who made multi million dollar business off serving Nascar and it's fans. Those aren't slave wages. Restaurants are having to pay people a living wage now, not more minimum wage there either. Where is this slave labor? So the impact of the speedway, BofA and Spectrum center is overestimated. I go through uptown at least twice a week. I'm not overestimating anything. Those structures alone provide good paying jobs not to mention the business they all generate. Take the Panthers, Hornets, and Nascar away from Charlotte, what would you have? Raleigh.

Chris Simms - Matt Corral is the top QB of the draft class
rippadonn replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Simms said he'd draft Corral top ten. We were very lucky this draft. Watson/Mayfield not going through was obviously devine intervention. Play the kid! Let's eat! -
The Panthers, BofA stadium is a private/public partnership. We as a community made an agreement to have and promote and love this team worldwide. It's bigger than Tepper. He feels that. We in the Charlotte community have a responsibility to our teams we've built. They're our face in the worlwide market. That LaMelo jersey is everywhere. Cam was selling jerseys for a while. For Charlotte to continue to be a top city in the nation it's a must. And by design they enrich the community in other ways. It's a win, win. I don't have a problem with tax dollars that create income in and around that stadium and the region for the Panthers, hotels, restaurants, medium, small business. It's a partnership. That's why we can raise heck like we do, and it matters.

Chris Simms - Matt Corral is the top QB of the draft class

Golden Corral should have a huge chip on his shoulder. Matt Corral has to be evaluated. Sam has already been studied and evaluated. It's necessary that you make the best QB on the team THE STARTER. -
IF the NFL and Tepper could guarantee Charlotte can host two Super Bowls it could be worth it. If not BofA will be just fine. If we spend tax dollars you gotta give us something. We could go for the most technically advanced stadium ever built. Fairly or unfairly we've been deprived of two Superbowls. Let us host two, I may forgive and vote yes.

Matt is a f'n baller. Don't coddle this man. Training camp is designed to ease guys in and get them into the speed of the game. Preseason games even moreso. People tell me this ain't the old days, well it ain't the old days, giving the man reps with first team is more important for the future of this team than to watch anything Sam would do. There should be no question who should start. You drafted him to do the job. Sam knows it. The writing is on the wall. Why waste anybody's time. Sam in 4yrs is a proven backup. His #'s career wise are terrible. Not a starter. Play your starter let backups backup and "mentor" with them headphones and clipboard not getting valuable reps your draft pick needs.

Correct team structure has started. Now what?
rippadonn replied to lightsout's topic in Carolina Panthers
REPS. Give them reps. That matters most. Not second string. -
The Pickett, Willis smokescreen really screwed up the draft in my opinion but it turned out to be a great VALUE draft at QB because of the hype that thrust those two players above the likes of accurate young QBs like Corral and Strong. Like I said great for us. In reality before the draft NOBODY here thought we'd come out with Icky and Corral. Even I would have called you crazy.
-
So Icky has to earn the starting job and Corral does too? Doesn't one help the other? Way to metally coach up your stars. Everybody already knows their role on a professional football team. They know who's a starter and who's a role player why play these silly games? Why waste time and money? You take Icky and you put him on that damn field and tell him "you're going to be the best tackle in Panthers history if you put in the work and learn". You give Matt the friggin' football from day one and you tell him "We brought you here to lead this team. YOU are the future. Put in the work and learn and YOU could be the best QB in Panthers history". The future shall not be OVERRHULED!

Corral is the Aaron Rodgers of this draft. A guy who knew he was the best QB that year and sat there and waited and waited. And yes, third is a slide but there were so many great lineman this year so it was almost inevitable. Also there is a strategy out there to release bad info about something you want to buy to get that asset cheaper. Now were they playing chess? Somebody was.
-
He has a first round grade on many people's board. Unique draft, so I'm giving him the benefit of QB1 status. He was the consensus QB1 last year.
