Jarvy at 2C is literally the best option on the roster for that position. Another season coming where the 2nd biggest need on the team has not been addressed. Just eat 60% of KK's salary and move him.
-
I wouldn't mind a deal that would add Rust or Rakell from the Pens. Move Jarvy to 2C, send KK and a prospect to Pittsbhrgh. Pittsburgh is taking calls for both. And both of them have played very well against Carolina.
-
Yeah, this is what I've been talking about for some time. What is it? Is it the team? The geographic? The GM and/or coach? The Canes cannot lure top end talent here and I can't figure out what the issue is.

Tyson Jost is back on a 1-year, $775k deal.
-
Vegas and Montreal need to cut $7.6M and $5.2M respectively. Any trade possibilities there?

Hey, my name is not Don Waddell or Tulsky. I didn't bring Gostisbehere here. Just sayin', after letting 33% of the best scoring blue line in the league walk along with a few other scorers, I don't think defense was on the mind of those making contract decisions.
-
You're fooling yourself if you think he was here for his defensive prowess. Guy had 45 points last season. That's the only reason he was on the roster.
-
Ehlers is talking to everyone. Multiple sources have said as much.
-
This what it looks like when you go all in to build a VW that will compete with Indy cars on Memorial Day. It's desperate and does nothing to build confidence in the room.
-
I gotta believe Gostisbehere is expendable at this point. Although both PP units will be without their QB. Think they're talking to Burns and Roslovic right now?
-
To your point, though. Savard, Rutta, and Burns are still out there....
-
Yeah, I caught my mistake earlier.
-
There were a couple good RHD, but, for whatever reason, the Canes took a pass.
-
Ooops, my bad.
-
I'm not seeing anything about Carolina handing out a $7.5M contract to anyone. Those are the confirmed moves as of now, minus the Miller deal. Cap space at $19.032M
-
The Carolina Hurricanes acquired K'Andre Miller from the New York Rangers for Scott Morrow, a conditional 2026 1st round pick, and 2026 2nd round pick. Per Puckpedia
-
"Mike Reilly is signed to a 1 year, $1,100,000 contract with a cap hit of $1,100,000 per season, playing for the Carolina Hurricanes. His contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, making Reilly an Unrestricted Free Agent." Per Puckpedia.

TSN NHL Free Agent Frenzy reporting: Ehlers agent is in Sweden Ehlers and his agent want to talk to everyone interested before he makes a decision. Given the time difference with his agent, no likely Ehlers deal before tomorrow. And, yeah, if all that comes out of this incredibly weak free agent class is a couple 2nd and 3rd pair blue-liners, I'd call this a disaster, given the size of the checking account. And, if someone wants to take the time and begin listing all the top line talent Carolina has failed to close over the past couple years.... ughhhh.... yes, the Canes have a problem. If it's Necas wanting out, the Rantanen fiasco, Guentzel- and they're just the ones who were here. Now let's talk about all those the Canes were supposedly in talks with and decided to go elsewhere... who wants to go first?
-
Granlund to the Ducks.

Does anyone besides me smell something strange coming from the Florida Panthers? Somehow, they've succeeded in keeping 3 guys in Eckblad, Marchand, and Bennett who all would have easily commanded at least $1.5M or more on the open market. Jus' sayin'
-
Eckblad would have gotten 7-8 as a UFA. I think Marchand is leaving.
-
Eckblad staying with Florida at a $6.1M AAV for 8 years.
-
Ghost and Burns both fighting to QB the PP and both prone to costly turnovers 5-on-5. I do not want to see that line ever together on the ice. I think Burns drops to the 2nd pair and Walker stays with Ghost.
-
I'll be very happy if that happens. Burns might be a little pricey, I'm more along the lines of 3-4, but...
