Could be one of those 7-5 nights.
-
You know your team sucks when the fans are more into the wave than the game... and they're winning. Hey, Columbus, the 90's called and said it's time to move on.
-
WTF...
-
I'm 2-1 this season and have yet to turn off a game this season. Kinda creepy you're keeping tabs on me like this, dude.
-
I've been right twice and eaten crow once. My percentage is as good as RBA's.
-
They looked like this in NJ. They have Dallas, NY and a b2b with Florida to close the month. I think they lose all 4, maybe 5 including tonight if they keep this up.
-
Yes sir, I got you!
-
DamnitJake! with the winner tonight against one of his former teams.
-
Took 6 minutes for the Canes to register a SOG. Took 2 minutes for Kochetkov to give up a goal.
-
Gonna ride with KK82 tonight.
-
Read the other day Binnington may be available come TDL. St. Louis to start their rebuild sooner with their woes this season even though he's under contract. Otherwise, these UFAs may be available: Adin Hill, Samsonov, Charlie Lindgren, Kevin Lankinin.

Can't say that either goalie would have fared much better last night. Uncontested shots inside the dots are usually a pretty solid bet to score. NJ hadn't played since last Saturday and clearly had their legs. Canes on the backside of a road b2b, I wasn't really surprised with the outcome.
-
Not just the one scoring play. The entire game.
-
That's game, boys. Martin is not the #2, although not many goalies are stopping that shot from that close.
-
Blake was getting tripped, pulled out of it and gets called for a high stick. WTF.
-
NJ getting away with a lot. Icing not called, elbow to the face of Aho, stick holding, interferences...
-
They've already gotten the 6 points I thought they'd get with the schedule from the 15th to the end of the month. They should beat Columbus Saturday, Dallas is a toss-up and I don't see wins with the Rags or either of the Florida games at the end of the month. So maybe 2 or 3 points in their next 6 games, including tonight. Anything more is success, as far as I'm concerned.
-
Canes are getting worked. Couple guys showed up to play, but aside from a few minutes, it doesn't look good. Maybe get a tying goal now and show up in the 3rd.
-
Noesen doing what he did with the Canes- get to the front of the net. NJ getting to the middle of the ice and to the front of the net is a sign your team is tired. We never see Slavin miss a box out like he missed on Bratt.
-
Was on Slavin who got behind Bratt.
-
Nobody had Roslovic for the 1st. Quick hands in front to flip in the loose change.
-
I'm going Martinook. Yeah, he passed in a couple opportunities last night I thought were grade A. The entire top line needs to start shooting more.

Does anyone else see this as the beginning of the end of Freddie Andersen? It started as a day-to-day. Escalated to week-to-week: Brind'Amour announced that Andersen was considered week-to-week with the injury. He said, "That's a little more time than I was hoping, but hopefully we'll get an update every week". Next: Brind'Amour later said that Andersen's injury would be "way longer" than expected. Now: https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/toronto-maple-leafs/latest-news/report-former-maple-leafs-goaltender-frederik-andersen-shut-down-by-hurricanes-to-miss-roughly-8-weeks-following-knee-surgery According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Andersen is set to undergo surgery that will keep him out of the team's lineup for "roughly" eight weeks. Who here believes the Canes will roll with Kochetkov and Martin without making a move?
-
Canes had a couple days off after the last back-to-back, and #52 didn't see a lot of action, so he may go again, but I think the Canes aren't favored for a few reasons: goalie, overnight travel on the b2b, NJ on plenty of rest....

Of course it looks different now, but all of us were seeing the same thing in the preseason. Who knew Orlov would look that bad in early October and look this good a month later? Who knew the top line was gonna get carried by the 4th line Aho and Svech have yet to get going.
