  1. Nah think they are check the box interviews. Most teams know who they wanna bring in when they request the initial interview.
  2. https://x.com/tompelissero/status/1749264303440515121?s=46&t=vV37cCwY8fdHmOVRGEqj2Q unless they interviewed him in the locker room… idk if NFL compliance would like to take a look at that
  3. Apparently they got it done in time before his game earlier.
  4. But…. Isn’t he apart of the group looking for the next HC? lol
  5. I still wouldn’t panic if that’s what transpires. Gets a job filled and out of the way. Get Seattle settled and then it’s a 3 way race between us, Atlanta, and Washington and I still like the odds of landing someone good
  6. It would make sense to announce after the SB. I’m pretty sure both Steichen and Gannon were announced afterwards. It’s pretty much figured out at that point
  7. Hindsight. Both players played well in their last stops before coming here. Chark was always a feast or famine option in a thin WR market. We’ve signed more contributors than we’ve drafted and that’s a real issue. But you don’t like Dan at GM that’s fine. He’s not my first option either if we’re being honest. The world won’t end if he gets the job though.
  8. Morris is underrated. Retread is quite a stretch as well. Agree to disagree.
  9. Exactly. Only external candidates count for Rooney rule.
  10. I don’t think that’s the full list. We haven’t heard much about GM. I expect that’s only what some have heard and not the entire list.
  11. He isn’t our head college scout at all lol. Scott’s team of Cole Spencer and Jared Kirksey are in charge in that department. We’ve drafted the same type of players since before and after Morgan came on board. Dan Morgan is head of the pro scouting. (Another story thanks to reluctance to retain the players that make sense)
  12. The same way Champ Kelly is considered for the Raiders GM job after Zeigler was a massive mistake. I’m sure they didn’t sit in an interview and reiterate the mistakes of the person that came before them.
  13. Doesn’t have to be long term, but it does have to be intentional
  14. If he goes with Morris/MacDonald I’d be elated. Especially if looking down the Frank Smith Barrel
  15. Still may very well happen. We only heard 2/3 names for the 2nd round of interviews they mentioned there were others.
  16. Scott was obsessed with Bryce. I remember his presser gushing over Bryce’s performance in the SEC championship 2 years before we were able to draft him. You’re not convincing me he’s not the underlying factor for drafting Bryce. Probably had a stack of papers with some analytic mumbo-jumbo to seal the deal with Tepp
  17. It’s truly time to embrace working through the struggle and building the right way. I’m alright with with a 3-4 win season, granted the team is playing hard and we’re establishing an identity. No more of this half assed win now with broken peices type of stuff.
  18. I’m not pooing the idea of MacDonald. At all. I’m just tempering any future expectations.
  19. That’s the 2023 version gonna make someone have a conniption seeing the first name on that list.
  20. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-coaching-search-update-2024 right on the website my boy
  21. For the first season, maybe season and a half and I’d say a lot of people. But once he gets the pieces and gets it dialed in it’s gonna be ugly.
  22. The package deal thing was always weird to me anyways, I think it was a convenient comparison to make. Not every coaching candidate has match, many do which lead to that connection and I understand why people would make the connection.
  23. That yes man phrase is played out honestly. Pretty much anyone that doesn’t follow someone’s train of thought on how to manage this Panthers team has been deemed a yes man lol your new GM isn’t walking in the door and giving your 2nd year 1st overall pick walking papers especially with no tangible replacement. I already mentioned the uncertainty of what the roster will be following a regime change. In addition to the likelihood of a player(s) who are familiar with the new HCs scheme to be brought in. They are going to isolate and change what didn’t work in the previous season before we explore options of outright replacing him, and honestly it’s smart. We have a 1st next year. If he crashes and burn you have a high pick to make a change..
