I think I mentioned this before, I wouldn't be surprised to hear his name often this cycle. ATP everyone knows he was scapegoated by Rhule. -
Honorable Mentions- Meet the Candidate- Bonus Round

Respectable list, id throw Mike MacDonald on there as a 6th personally.. This is aligned with how I'm feeling Ben/Ejiro are like 2a/2b for me. -
Absolutely but as the carousel spins its gonna be hot young oc after hot young oc. Give me Mike MacDonald lol

Meh I don't care much for coach salaries, they are gonna continue to evolve just like player salaries. If not with per year salaries then avg length of contract. Stuff I don't really care to get into because it doesn't stop us from making roster moves and the like. That's for other owners to poo poo and get up in arms about.
-
Yeah, lightning in a bottle, there are other examples of these type of dudes hitting the ground running. I'm leaning towards wanting a defensive coach before the pendulum swings and people realize that there aren't 32 prolific offensive minds that can be HCs.
-
You mean Ben Johnson... I wouldn't pay Brian 500k for his services at this point.

The leader of men thing isn't BS maybe a bit overblown but it's still true. There are plenty of examples of these types of coaches doing well in the NFL. What does Dan Campbell teach..? Tomlin..? Harbaugh (John) was a ST coach before getting the HC gig.. I mean the hot thing is having some "Offensive Guru" That can make up plays in their sleep, which is def intriguing but at the end of the day he has to lead a room of men. Though, Players are lead by whom they respect. Look at our team twice after the HC has been fired, they play better than before because they are playing for someone they respect. Some coaches walk in a room and demand respect, some will earn it. At the end of the day it's luck. This team absolutely needs a coach who can lead, who can teach, and who can relate to them on certain levels. There is no cookie cutter answer as shown by the NFL time and time again.

Depends on which Jaguars D and which Panthers OL shows up honestly. They are a talented group but in the last few weeks they've looked average. Run D is going to have to be an emphasis seeing as they will likely run the offense through ETN with the PA shot to Ridley when they get in a groove. We'll have chances to take the ball away from the backup but we have to capitalize on said chances. TEs will probably get a lot of work also. If we can have a similar game, not replicate the production flat out.. but play a complete game I like our chances at gutting another win out. No matter what the circumstances were of our other wins, or good performances the confidence should carry over. Another weaker pass defense, if we can protect we can move the ball.

I know not everyone can effectively pull it off... Yet, I'm still amazed that at least 70% of the league isn't running some form of it.
-
They honestly also draft disgustingly well. I wonder how they'll approach this offseason.. loaded WR class with how well they can identify talent. They'll pull off a 3-peat in the 6/7th rounds and all of them will be hits...

Reasons to be optimistic about the 2024 offense
Steelo replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wonder how AT feels at this juncture, I know after Frank's firing he was talking about reassessing the situation because of the changes. If thats the case this offseason I say ship him to the highest taker. If he can get a 100/1000 season... all the better. Otherwise I really would like to have him around as that safety blanket for another season as we're breaking in a new WR. I agree about Tremble, but it's far past time to let Ian out to pasture and draft another TE (Sinnot (K State), Lachey (Iowa, duh) or Bell (FSU). Figure out what we're gonna do with that poor investment in Miles Sanders.. Personally, I'd be for moving him and bringing in Braelon Allen (Wisky)/Bucky Irving (Oregon). Yet a side of me want's him to live up to his billing... but maybe at a reduced price lol. Other than that keep improving the OL Depth, bring in guys that can compete for a starting spot and not just fill a spot. 2 More games, if I keep seeing the offense improve I'm gonna get unrealistically excited about this offseason. -
Bingo, we could do a lot of good not overpaying Higgins. Could use the cap to bring in depth at OL/DL. If we can strike a sensible deal with him I'm all for it. Otherwise I'd just look to the deep draft and grab a piece or 2 there. But like you said, why play here if KC can offer you similar money and a top 3 QB to sling you the rock and a mastermind HC who will feature you.
-
Yeah I feel like Higgins has his sights set on KC. Evans is eh I guess, I mean I would love to have him, but father time is on his heels as well. I feel like he strikes a deal in TB to stay honestly.
-
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh idk. I mean.... if all hope is lost on getting your top 3 targets for HC... MAYBE. Not as a first option though. Hopefully there's a new GM in charge when the decision is made cause if this is the route they decide to go the offensive side needs an overhaul.

He showed his route running and ability to separate in the pre season, I hope we keep him and continue building on his role. -
He'd pay whatever he needed too to get the guy he wants. Rhule or Reich be damned.. he MAY go about vetting coaches differently but if it comes down to money he'll shell out whatever he needs to get the deal done.
-
I agree with that. He was trying to "less is more" us when in reality you had to spice it up a bit.
-
Agreed, he's seeming to have caught stride at this point in the season. Probably much longer than the staff thought it would take.
-
IF Evero is here next season it will still be the 3-4 base package. Luvu is playing out of position but it's what we had to do losing Shaq so early in the season. We need a Will Anderson/Dallas Turner type of guy opposite Burns at OLB. Matos plays well enough for 3-4 DE. Getting some upgrades along the DL/OLB you'll see a difference in this scheme. I think they should stick with it and give it support, instead of switching schemes again and then bargain bin shopping for players that fit that scheme. That being said, if we go with another DC and they have a different scheme then that is what we are going to go with..

Agreed, need to ride some momentum into the offseason. Need 2 more games, from start to finish of him putting this kind of stuff on tape. The more it happens.... the more it will happen. -
I've been critical of him, when blame is squarely on him, but this game gave me legitimate hope that we could pull off another GW drive. I hope he continues this momentum into the offseason. Would be great to go into another offseason of change with some momentum.

Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes

My exact sentiments, What happens in about 2 weeks will determine if he's just blowing smoke or not.
