  1. Imma be honest, I did have a good laugh.. It's possibly the most Panther thing to do.. Trade up for this kid only to turn around and trade Burns to the same team we got the #1 Pick from. Idk how I feel about it tbh. I really like Justin but we saw how morbid he looked in Chicago with no line and no weapons. BUT, i'd wonder if they are keeping tabs incase it's the chip that tilts a HC hire. I'd be over the moon to get back into the 1st and have some additional capital to work with granted we have a new GM running the draft.
  2. Why would be pay the fine for the man worth 16.7Bn. Tepper found it in some old Steeler's track pants.
  3. Bingo, 1 less franchise to worry about competing with. No owner will start to throw dirt on another owner, atleast publicly... they all have skeletons in their closets... look how they were during the Snyder stuff. Mums the word. If there were other credible allegations we would have heard them by now. Mans is worth 16.7Bn they would have already hit his pockets.
  4. Dude can play. I wish we could grab him up. Might as well retire that dream.
  5. I don't think so. 24+ hours since the incident and the NFL hasn't even acknowledged it. Usually they put some PR statement that they were made aware of the incident and are looking into it etc etc usually pretty close to after it happens. If we don't hear anything about it tomorrow, it's likely water under the bridge already.
  6. I don't even think it bothers him, no word from our PR department... or the NFL for that matter. He just gonna ride it out for the rest of the week. Monday will be a new slew of headlines.
  7. Rock Hill issue is with themselves. That's not a tepper issue.
  8. Yup it's a season long race to the CFP.. Once your team is on the outside looking in it's time to prepare for your future. If you are draft eligible, come along for the gifts and media time and ride the pine and leave your draft stock and health intact.
  9. It's the New Year and all that jazz.. but the fact that the NFL office didn't have a statement out within an hour of the video surfacing is giving me vibes that we're gonna get second hand information about a fine and thats about all we're gonna hear about it.. from the NFL atleast.
  10. Reich was 100% a part of the issue. IDK how someone can be so rigid and stuck in his ways yet such a pushover. Mind blowing. Bryce Young was a Scott Fitterer fever dream, he gave us all the answers we're putting on other people. He was in love with him for 2 years. Early reports had Dave interested in will Levis. If Dave was really forcing picks it would have been for Levis then. Scott sweet talked Dave into it and then pretty much told Reich he was going to coach Bryce Young. We've had the playbook all along but the pre-draft jazz with the S2 and all that stuff really helped the fanbase get comfortable with the idea of picking the former Bama Heisman winner. Circling back to how Reich is implicit; the playbook and gameplan we trotted out there showed there was no confidence in BY. He essentially wanted to make him the highest drafted game manager in the league. Even with the terrible display on Sunday, look at BY passing charts from when Reich called plays until the recent string of games. Not to say hes some godsend, but they were trying to get the ball downfield, stopped throwing the slip screens to Ian behind the LOS.. etc. Just looking forward to the future now. No other choice.
  11. No I absolutely understand that, but Tepper doesn't scout these players that we're drafting. It just feels like our scouting department found some Analytical model that they are comfortable with and use only that to draft players. How many players have we drafted with high RAS scores... the sheer number of actual contributors we've drafted over players with a 'lesser' score kind of speaks for itself. There's a way to marry the 2 strategies, and that's the way we need to be doing things. If there was a surefire algorithm alone that found stud players in the draft there would be an AI making the selections.
  12. Did I not make the same statement in the post you quoted lol...
  13. It's really every worse case scenario has happened... I was a big vocal CJ fan pre-draft.. but then I started thinking that BY might be alright because usually the player I DON'T want turns out to be decent/great...
  14. Analytics work, when you aren't a half brained dolt like Fitt. It's apart of the package, you take the analytics and pair them with the actual film. Like the player who runs a slow 40 but blows past people in gametime. Analytics isn't bullsh**, we just have bullsh** people referencing them as some kind of draft easy mode button.
  15. I just would find it funny if he was an average to decent owner in football.. a sport he's not a name brand in. You probably are correct.. It's just the irony of life that gives me that feeling.
  16. I mean really outside of this offseason... moving on/replacing him is really only bad from an optics standpoint.. but if it's done after feeling the effects of the trade then it is what it is. Especially with a new HC. ALSO it depends on who they replace him with/how they replace him. In a perfect world this season was an eye opener for decision makers, we change course and slowly buy surely the situation improves for everyone and BY is among the best young QBs and everyone is happy. The world isn't perfect but I'll never root for the ship to sink, so for as long as hes in our uniform I want it to workout. I am just prepared for if it doesn't. The ship is the Carolina Panthers, not the Bryce Young's.
  17. Ironically, MJ might actually make a decent football owner lol.
  18. I'd put money down that new coach brings in a QB he's familiar with or something along those lines via the draft as a contingency plan. No new coach is going all eggs in a basket for Bryce, especially if they want to coach past next season. Too risky. All I need now is for a new GM and that will wholeheartedly solidify BY's leash.
  19. Kraft's massage parlour escapades, Snyder being a total piece of trash, McNair's inmate comments... yeah they really aren't good people lmao. These are just some of the recent examples, I'm sure back when it was a fair bit worse.
  20. Buddy it's all good, you got sold a dream by your hopefully soon to be former chief advisor, you can admit Bryce was Fitts man crush for 2 years and conned you into green lighting it.
  21. Well at one point we had Diddy wanting to buy the team.. and had that gone through.... lawd hammercy
  22. I'll play, because it's like a negative percentage chance this happens. Do you mean an full fledged expansion or some NBA Tomfoolery where the expansion team just becomes the old team anyways.
  23. An owner in the NFL is only as good as who he hires to coach the team. Without the hire of Bill B, Kraft is just a mid owner. He didn't scout and draft TB himself, he didn't coach those teams to SBs. So in a double edged way, yes there's still hope for Tepper. IF he can make the correct HC/GM pairing, or even get one right for starters he can start to redeem himself. As an NFL owner what is gonna define you is the W/L column and hardware cabinet.. not how many concerts you bring to the area. Winning cures all.. If he sold the team today he'd be a failure of an owner. If down the road the team wins 3 SBs and is a contender year after year then his outlook will be markedly different.
  24. If its the 2nd round im only taking the kid from Washington if he falls or Jordan Morgan from AZ. Theres a kid from Yale that's pretty solid, atleast by PFF standards however jacked they may be at times but he's solid in both pass and rush. He's likely a round 3 guy though. Guyton out of Oklahoma is gonna get overdrafted because of where he plays. I really don't like the kid out of BYU either but a lot of boards have him in the top 50-60. He's been very hit or miss this season. It's gotta be a stud in the 2nd if were taking a LT hopeful. Don't go digging for diamonds there and don't overthink it. If it isn't the 2 guys I mentioned above im running to the podium with the highest graded WR and then looking to double back in 3 AND 4 for OL
  25. I see this argument, but another scouting department... especially if they are in the NFL should already have some scouting in place for prospects. It may be a bit of a scramble for the deeper guys, but your round 1-3 maybe even round 4 guys you should have a grasp on no matter what franchise they are coming from. It usually never happens, but I think in this case with the amount of work that will need to be done, it should happen.
