Happy Birthday Smitty! I am a little late. I didn't realize he is only 36. I was thinking older but nonetheless happy birthday. I loved this guy intensity on the field. If this guy didn't play with a chip on his shoulder, I doubt he would have been as dominate as he has been. I recall meeting him right after the superbowl loss in winston. I travel with a few buddies to the dixie claiss fairgrounds to meet him. I was expecting a complete jerk from what I had read in papers but this guy was the exact opposite. He was very humous and signed everything we asked him to. As a side note, Rucker is one of the most laid back and gentle guys that I ever met. He was there as well and he was so humble and friendly to us.

I already thought they had the best Oline in football. Now this? I have to give it to the Cowboys. They are protecting their precious Romo. Maybe I should try out as RB there. Even I can run for 1,000 behind that line.

Anyone else a little worried about DE?
SpeedOFLight replied to OneBadCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not really worried at the DE position. We have frank coming back and ealy looks promising plus I liked how Short came in to play DE. Not too worried -
CBS' Prisco hates the pick & SB Nation's Kadar, lukewarm
SpeedOFLight replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I put it this way... When we first picked Luke, I didn't like it because we had Beason but of course we see how that turned out(By the way, Love Luke). I trust the GM and coaching staff. They haven't let me down on talent the last few drafts. Our defensive players love this pick, seems like he will be ready to contribute Day 1. I didn't know much about this kid so right now at work, I am watching his youtube highlights and reading up on him. He seems like a solid pick. Im excited. -
Jameis Winston: I didn't steal the crab legs
SpeedOFLight replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I remember talking about this a few months back with my buddies. This was my actually perspective of what happened. I figured he didn't just do a grab and dash for those crab legs. It's not hard to believe that an employee had given the crab legs to him. I don't think it's him trying to have a sense of entitlement. This happens all the time in college and I am sure that wasn't the first time it happened. He just got caught. Heck when I was in college, I had "hookups". Whether it was a manager/owner or whatever. -
We won! Thank you huddle for your support.

I put this in the context of an individual due to get a big promation/raise but chooses to get in trouble just to get unemployment benefits (which of course is a lot less than what he/she is would be making with promotional). By getting in trouble, he basically has a hard time getting another job in the position he would have had or let alone another job period because the label that is now placed on him for gettting in trouble...I don't but that...with that being said, That's all I have today folks.

Oh ok Thanks. That makes sense. I don't want to make weight my primary focus. With me, it is more so about body composition than anything else. I want to look and feel better. Just want to live a healthy life and I know I have to make a little more changes in my "diet" to help. Enemy number=beer/alcohol.

I am trying to tone up a little and lose weight. My doctor pretty much told me to cut back on carbs and basically fast food is out of the picture. You would think I am obese by what people have been saying. As far as the gym side, should I just focus on cardio and leave weights alone if all I want to do is slim down? I am afraid lifting weights will make me gain weight in which it feels that way right now.

Let's see how things pan out. It is still not clear. He is arrest on "suspicion" of domestic violence so lets see if it holds. Don't be quick to judge.

Not sure if anyone is in Greensboro. There is a gym called Workout Anytime. It is 15 bucks a month and open 24/7. They have trainers there during the day, in unmanned hours the door is lock and you use your membership card to swipe and let you in. They have no good equipment in there from cario, machine weights to free weights. Never too crowed and by having a membership, you get discounts at other places. I joined in January and I am trying to lose at least 30 lbs, wish me luck

Great list and congrats to our guys! I just feel Davis was snubbed. That guy has been balling. Looking at the list, did any 4-3 olb make the pro bowl?
-
I believe Rivera will have our guy focused. Each game is a big game for us. We are in the playoff race and we are chasing N.O. for the division. As the players and coaches say, this is the most important game coming up because it is the next game. If they keep that mindset, we should be fine. I hope CJ can heal up. I seen a flash across the screen last night that said doubtful.

This is one game that has me cautious about. For one it is a divisional game and Tampa really doesn't have anything to lose. We just have to stay focused and disciplined. I am loving the "new" attitude that this time has seem to put on and I believe it starts with RR. I am excited about the game as well because this would put us over .500 since 2008. Thats a pretty long time. Lets go panthers!

I am with you. You do have to ask yourself what has changed? This kid and our Offense had one of the biggest jumps in the history of the nfl. Now we can barely muster points. We need to change something and find out what it is quickly. I think the small issues that plague our QB can and will change. We just have to figure out what direction we want this team to go. I take an honest look at this team. These are really the same players that we went 2-14 with. We need some better coaching. Look at KC with Reid. They are undefeated. I don't want to just blame coaching because a lot still falls on the players (fumbles, penalities, drop passes etc)

Don't look now, Panthers are second in their division
SpeedOFLight replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have to admit. It does give me pleasure watching other teams in our division crumble. Misery likes company? But truthfully, I am tired of losing. This is a good time for us to go on a winning streak if we can if not the Saints will run away with the division. We are two games under .500. We have some winnable games coming up. I haven't lost faith with this team. -
Oh ok thanks man. That makes sense

True. Just when we are finally moving the chains, something always happen. Whether a big fumble at the wrong time, a drop pass that would have moved the chains or our players dropping a sure TD. It baffles me sometimes how this always happen to us. While I do agree accountability starts up top, players are still the ones that have to go out there and execute. Heck, you can have the best OC in history and if the players suddenly forgot how to protect the ball, protect the QB or make a catch, it all won't mean a thing.
-
I definitely understand what you are saying. Our FO is the reasoning why we were strapped for cash. If only we had an OC that would utilize this talent we would have a winning record. I strongly believe that. The defense has put us in good positions all year. We just can't score.
-
I am not all for firing people and things of that nature but Gettleman should have had his choice of the coaching staff. I am hoping Shula gets it together but so far it is not looking good. It is not just coaching though. When we finally call the right plays, our players seem to forget how to play football. We are 1-3 with plenty of football left. I just hope we can turn it around and make a run. One question, I was hearing a lot that the Panthers were only willing to sign an OC to a one year contract. Where is everyone getting that from?
-
I'm usually try not to be negative. But why in the heck did we hand the offense over to Shula! Just look at his track record. He was never good at conducting a good offense

I will start off by saying that I was shocked when I found out he got traded. It was sudden and many wasn't expecting it. I am torn with this decision but this might be for the best for all parties involved. It is obvious that Luke has the middle locked down and knowing that Beason is a true mlb, it may have been hard for him to adjust to another position. At least, in NY, he will get his position back and have a chance to kick start his career here. His leader, passion and friendly attitude will definitely be missed in the Carolinas. I will definitely be rooting for him to get back to old form or even better.
