Only thing that worries me now, is now there will be some 5'11 Drew Brees generational QB in the next few years and we will draft the 6'6" Paxton Lynch/Brock Osweiler QB because we will bounce from one extreme to the other in Panther fashion.
-
Oh I know. It just feels that way. Probably because the only times we have ever been decent was when we operated that way.
-
I mean we went back to Hurney. Somebody wake up John Fox.
-
Something to note.. Canales and Morgan are also having to work with personnel that aren't exactly best for the scheme. It takes a couple of offseasons to acquire the right personnel. The players are a mix of Rhule, Reich, Snow, Fitterer, Brady, and McAdoo players.

I think the Raiders game was just exciting for him and then the licks started coming. Plus it's about what you expect from a 37 year old vet with an average career. Andy is perfect right now to win a game or two as a back up. He's definitely better than Bryce but he's probably not coming back next year, I wouldn't be shocked if he retires.

Prepare your mind for Bryce's return. Dalton is bad.

I would say start Bryce but he actually threw for negative yardage today. Andy can at least function so the WRs (and Sanders) get experience. Start Plummer its a win-win. Tank crowd gets their pick, and we get to see if he can develop into anything more than a bag of chips. -
I think Dalton is getting tired. It was fun coming back after sitting so long, now reality is setting in and a rocking chair on a front porch seems nice. I'm all for throwing Plummer out there the rest of the season tbh.

I'd like to see him for at least one more year before we throw the towel in on him. Rhule at least got that. I know it makes ZERO sense, but I swear if we just went back to 4-3 with a tough front 7 and ran the ball downhill, we would be decent again. I'm tired of all these crazy changes and "cutting edge" ideas. The Panthers are only good when we run the ball and have a good DL. Fox and Rivera figured it out, and Wilks was going the same path. I guess thats just who we are.
-
I wish I could say I had confidence that we would actually use it on somebody worth the #3 pick. We'll probably draft a 4th round talent.

Depends if you're going off win%, total wins, or what. In Tepper era: Rivera 12-16 Rhule 11-27 Wilks 6-6 Tabor 1-5 Canales 1-6 Reich 1-10 Fewell 0-4 The funny thing is that Tepper fired Ron at 5-7 which would be considered amazing by today's standards.

My prediction in 3 years - Panthers return to their roots

People forget Wilks and Holcombe was a package deal, and Holcombe struggled. The defense declined when Snow left. People also forget how conservative Wilks was on both sides of the ball. It lost us the TB game. I think Canales will work out. I think Saleh, Frazier or somebody will come in as DC and the Panthers will go heavy defense in FA/Draft this year. It's the opposite of what Fox did. Fox went Defense heavy first and then Offense heavy after 2002. -
Baker Mayfield Kyle Trask John Wolford Old Geno Smith Drew Lock Jacob Eason Russell Wilson Alex McGough Brett Hundley Austin Davis These are the QBs that Canales has worked with as Pass Game Coordinator, QB Coach, and OC. I get the feeling he prefers pocket QBs.
-
Johnson is 30, so you're not getting a spring chicken but he's a damn good WR. His market value per SportTrac is 10m/yr. If you can get him on a 3yr/30-35m deal go for it. If Adams is going for a Day 2 pick, Johnson's value is Day 3. Chances are Thielen will be a cap cut this season, so Johnson will be a good veteran in the room with Legette, Coker, and whoever else.
-
Problem with this is since it's Cam, people will be calling for him to start at QB immediately. Any success he has will be exaggerated and half the fan base will be calling for him to sign a 5 year deal. The fan base just can't move on from him. When Rhule brought him back, he should have let him start the remainder of 2021 and let the people see the good and the bad and then decide whether to bring him back in 2022 in a mentor role. The way that entire situation went made the Cam hysteria worse.

If a sign outside of a restaurant gets his attention, a billboard damn sure will. I would just post the record since he has become owner with the quote that "mediocrity will not be tolerated".

Mike Kaye: Panthers might start Bryce Young final 7 games

Listen here bud, he's thrown way more interceptions than I ever have. I have never thrown an interception in the NFL. -

Looks like I'm getting 7 Sundays back. -
Steelers aren't going to let Fields go. Wilson is going to get benched or hurt and somehow he is going to get reunited down here with Canales and Morgan.
