  1. A) They recognize there is no depth at all behind the starters. B) They have no money and are trying to get guys reps because if we get thin somewhere this season there isn't much money for outside help. C) Trying to prevent any injuries to the starting group so item B (see above) does not happen. Not ideal, but they are playing it safe.
  2. I didn’t really have that many takeaways tonight, really wish we would have seen some starters or 2nd string guys instead of 3rd and 4th all night. Anyways… Good: · Team may not be much better than last year but has more “grit” it appears. · Dillon Johnson may make the team until Brooks is healthy (if they carry 4 RBs). · Still like Jamison and TJ Smith. · This pieced together OL of guys that have been here a few days looked better than whatever that was last week. Bad: · WRs still struggle for separation. · Jack Plummer.. Just make Luton the #3 guy at this point. Ugly: · It’s clear they know there is a depth problem by how much they are giving these guys reps and resting the starters. · Had Dillon Johnson not ran the ball like a crazy person the last two minutes, we still wouldn’t have a TD.
  3. I mean the easiest thing is to just help him be successful. But he actually has to want to (which is there) and have the tools (which it appears he lacks). I don’t doubt Morgan and Canales are going to try but I don’t think they are going to bet their jobs on him, either. If he isn’t getting any better, you’re going to see Dalton in there to prove Bryce is the problem and then we are going to be debating Drew Allar Vs Carson Beck for the next few months.
  4. Lmao y’all keep this same energy when we are 0-4.
  5. And in our typical fate, he will look like the QB he was originally drafted to be.
  6. Bryce out here making Shy Tuttle look like Chris Gamble.
  7. So what % chance we see Dalton take over by EOS? Last time I checked the room was around 35%
  8. Going to be hard to know because this offense is going to have to be tailored to Bryce for him to be successful since he doesn’t have a basic QB skill set… like throwing the ball 35 yards, or seeing over his OL.
  9. Another year of Panthers poor QB play is more important than the election. It takes precedence.
  10. 3pts brought to you by Jake Luton- a practice squad journeyman. Imagine an average back up. We might crack 17.
  11. At this point, if he comes out playing like he did last year, I think you have to pull him by week 6 or 7 to see what you really have on the roster because his impairment skews the data for everyone else. So we will probably wait until week 15 and win the last 2 games to kill our draft position and have an unclear picture about what talent we actually have on the team.
  12. I'm really pessimistic after seeing some of the throws from either rookie or very below average QBs this week. Quite a few guys threw passes down field this week with more air yards than we seen from Bryce all year last year. I'm not confident the deep ball will be there this year either.
  13. Good: -Leota, Jamison, TJ Smith, and Matthews. Cook wasn’t bad either. -Defense was very sound and disciplined. - Offensive concepts were vague because of preseason but better than Franks. The execution just wasn’t there. Bad -Everyone on the OL except sometimes Christensen. -The WRs dropping balls, falling down, just awful. -Penalties on offense. I don’t know if Plummer was that bad or if all the drops and running for his life amplified it. Had a few of those drops been caught it may have offered better perception.
  14. Predictions? -Final score doesn’t break 20 points. -Plummer does better than expected (Which isn’t much at all) -Multiple bad snaps during the game. -Panthers D gets a minimum 2 turnovers. -Somebody will make a play you’ve never heard of and you’ll have to look them up during the game.
  15. I was happier with the Kyle Allen Panthers.
  16. Probably, unless they get a Vet guy that can pick the basics up quick. Knowing us, they will just move Felipe Franks over from TE.
  17. tbh Dalton is likely better than anything available right now. I hope Tannehill swallows his pride and comes in. Would like to see our offense with an average NFL QB during the pre-season to compare with Bryce.
  18. Lol. I'm talking about the average of our draft history. The Fitterer era was more like: 1 depth guy, 4 second year cuts, and 3 don't make it past training camp. IF we have any draft picks to use.
  19. Same, he was really bad last year. I got mocked by a Falcons fan I know when Zavala got carted off the field in an ambulance in detroit and it turned out to be a stinger or pulled muscle. Give me: Ekwonu, Lewis, Corbett, Hunt, and Moton as the starters and Nijman, Mays, Christensen, and some random FA center. Quite frankly, I don't like the idea of moving Corbett (who has been injured a lot recently) to center with no other real options. It looked like every other snap came off low or high yesterday.
  20. The fact is XL is still a rookie and our fanbase has to be the worst out there at hyping up unproven players. Every year we draft 4 HOFs and 3 long term starters and then reality hits and it turns into 1 starter, 1-2 depth guys, and the rest are disappointments.
  21. I think the jersey schedule gets released in the next few days. Ready to see what colors I can't anticipate getting disappointed in each week.
  22. Had to go back and see so I wasn't crazy. Dalton only played a few snaps in 1 pre-season game last year and the rest was Corral, Young, and Luton. I'm almost certain he didn't throw at FanFest either.
