I've been a fan for a long time. I was young the first few seasons but still kept up with the team distantly. Didn't really become a "die-hard" until probably 99/00 or so. I have never seen the team go through a rut like this or have this level of hopelessness season to season. I guess this is what some of the other franchises went through. I think we will eventually figure it out, I don't know if that 3, 5, or 10 years from now- but eventually the tide will turn. It's hard to be a fan right now, and like I have told people: If your mental health can't take the strain, do yourself a favor and just come back later. If you don't have the money don't waste your money on gear, tickets, etc. Do it when you can. If you have other things that are more important, focus your time and energy on those things, the Panthers will still be here. There is a very large portion of our fanbase that used to pack BOA stadium that is lying dormant right now because of one of the three points above.

After like week 2 or 3 he got benched for Clausen. I remember reading an article or watching a presser and they said Matt walked over to the coaches in the 4th Q and suggested it or said he was done or something. He came back in though mid-season but then got hurt after beating the 49ers. EDIT: I could be wrong, but I swear I remember hearing/reading that.

If he cared about his teammates he would bench himself like Matt Moore did. Problem then was Matt Moore wasn't nearly as bad as Clausen. I'm starting to think Clausen is better than Bryce.

As I watch this 4pm game, I had a terrible thought about future that I won't speak into existence but it involves a certain veteran QB who is injured right now and familiar with our coach and GM. In 2-3 weeks there will be half a dozen players demanding trades if nothing changes.

It's not. There have been more failed #1 picks than successful ones. You can accumulate more talent by showing some promise in this place and getting some key FAs to want to sign here. Trust me, we will still have a Top 12 pick to find a QB. #1 pick doesn't mean anything though.

Dalton can at least make the offense function so other people can develop and be assessed. You can also have some level of entertaining football with him in. Hell, I wouldn't be opposed to Plummer. He looked like hammered poo in the pre-season but he actually has the physical skills for the job, maybe he can go from horrible to bad by the end of the season. We already know what Bryce is.

Having Andy Dalton would have probably put this game within a score. Defense was bad, but how many 3 and outs did they have to follow? Everyone plays half speed and uninspired when Bryce is in. If the fire is this hot after two weeks, wait until we play the Raiders out west next week. This is about to be circulating through national media and not just Person, Quick, and Fowler. Dalton will be starting in the next 2-3 weeks. If not, there will be Urban Meyer-Jaguars level media attention on the Panthers.

Defense was bad, but at least somewhat better than last week. If our offense could actually move the ball and control the clock it would have been somewhat competitive.
