  1. Eku Leota, Auburn signed Very happy to see this one. They had him in for a visit, and he visited 3 other teams.
  2. signed Jalen Redmond DT Oklahoma. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jalen-redmond/32005245-4461-3410-5102-5e80a97e82ca

  4. Better than this former Panther DB: 4.66s Percentiles vs. Cornerbacks 40 Yard Dash 4.66s 4th percentile Vertical Jump33" 13th percentile Broad Jump124" 64th percentile 3-Cone Drill7.09s 21st percentile Josh Norman everybody!!
  5. We got a QB, a Moose-like WR who should see the field soon. Good draft. Zavala is the pick that is the most interesting to me. He and Mays can compete for the LG position with BC. If they can beat out BC, BC becomes the swing T. We get better at G and have depth at T. If this works out, Zavala plays beside the T he knew at State; they should have chemistry. Mays will fill in for Corbett until he returns and backup the C spot. Christensen will backup both T spots and serve as an emergency G. I have no problem with Johnson--just the trade up---he and Barno will complete and one will emerge. Until then, let Burns, YGM, and Haynes hold it together. Jammie is a good football player, so he will upgrade special teams. He can compete and take over when the Woods and Rowe contracts end.
  6. runs a 4.6 Not likely. He is a good football player, and the 3-4 tends to use Safeties. We have Rowe who can play nickel and Chinn will probably play big nickel. Apparently, they like our CB room
  7. do not rule out To'o To'o LB from Bama--I am not a fan--I think I want Trice.
  8. watch them take a RB--Israel from Pittsburgh....still, I have to think Fitt wants another pick and will trade back--or take CB now and call it a day. Wylie TE possible.
  9. then we get on the phones and start talking to the players we think might go undrafted--Eke Leota (Edge) is one they could take here or beg to sign as an undrafted free agent.
  10. I think one of the top 3 CBs will be there--there are only about 8 picks until we pick. I do think Fitterer may trade back-- But I would take the CB and then get on the phones for the undrafted free agents.
  11. There is no way this staff watched film from 2022 and feels good about CB-
  12. Trice, Rush, and Smith (CBs) are going to go soon....after that, I do not see a lot of help at CB in the draft
  13. I would be happy with Terrell Smith CB Minnesota as well. I think the last pick will be CB--unless we trade back for more picks
  14. trade back or take the G or a CB
  15. Here is how I see it--if you are going to be weak at Edge/pass rusher, you better be strong at CB and vica versa-- I am not as down on the Johnson pick as most--I think he would have been higher had he been treated with some common sense at Oregon. So he is unknown, and he has the size and speed to be good--and he and Barno should push each other in the area of development. I would have taken Ojulari over Mingo, but I think Mingo has the potential to be Moose II. By taking Mingo and then Johnson, we are focused on more of a long-term benefit than immediate needs--that is why this pick is so hard to understand. In a year or two, imagine if Johnson and Barno have been coached up and become good? It took Charles Johnson 3 years. It took Greg Hardy 3 years. It took Rucker 2 years-
  16. I like the CB from Purdue--Trice I think
  17. I am hoping for Zavala (G NC St) 10 picks from now--if we want a swing T, I like Carter Warren from Pitt. I think we will find out how much we like our current CBs
  18. I think the Panthers will find it hard to pass on a big CB--- Kelee Ringo, Georgia (6’ 2”) Darius Rush, South Carolina (6’2”) Clark Phillips III Utah (5’ 9” the exception but he is pretty solid) Corey Trice, Purdue (6’3”) Terell Smith, Minnesota (6’1”)
  19. Basically, this draft came down to Bryce Young over CJ Stroud at QB and WR Mingo over OLB/Edge Ojulari. Johnson was a pick to minimize the damage by not taking Ojulari. I see Mingo's upside and I think he could be great. Another thing to remember: We had Eke Leota in for a visit, along with 3 other teams. I think he is a diamond in the rough--he could be an undrafted free agent, but I doubt it. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/eku-leota/32004c45-4f77-2615-e3d6-a2255f6293d2
  20. Tomorrow? Chandler Zavala G NC State Nick Saldiveri G ODU Dawand Jones OT Ohio St Blake Freeland, OT BYU Corey Trice CB Purdue Terrell Smith CB Minnesota Darius Rush CB S Carolina
  21. We have some projects outside--Barno, another freak athlete, YGM, and Now Johnson. We have burns and Haynes--when we went WR, it cost us the good edge player. Expect OL and DB tomorrow, and we are done.
