I see your point, but if we pick #1, we will take a QB again. I also think we have to get an edge early.

well said.

He has coached 1 game in his career.
-
not ready to throw Canales away when he inherited this mess. I see him as a coach who could be here a long time.
-
Yes indeed.

I was out for a power walk yesterday and I bumped into a neighbor who graduated from Ohio State (he lives beside a Penn State graduate, so I have fun with that). He reminded me about the draft, "I remember you telling me that the Panthers need to draft Stroud but they were leaning Young. I know you must be really pissed off right now." I told him, "We are the only NFL team in the league that takes a juice box out to the huddle during time outs. ...He is too short to ride 30% of the rides at Carowinds...he has one chicken wing for dinner...When he breaks a team rule he is not fined, but he is grounded.

That stings a little.

they shoulda started with this, then added stripes, logos, facemask and chin strap. Boom.
-
It needs a facemask. then it would be cool.

I was watching the NFL Network's Good Morning Football and the Panthers are officially a punchline. -
You cannot start Bryce Young again. He is not an NFL player.

we had options. how can they be so wrong? Sounds like they have yes men around tepper. you need a round table where nobody outranks anyone else during the discussions -
Please explain this response. Not sure what you mean. I can explain, but I am not going to include pictures. As the QB runs forward in the pocket (as opposed to sitting back and planting the back foot in his drop) it disrupts the weight distribution behind the throw. QBs are trained to plant the foot at the end of their drop, step toward the target and throw as the weight transfers from back to front. When running forward, weight transfer is totally different. When that happens, the ball can sail. Cam used to throw high for the same reason. (Buhaahaaa?) Not sure what the punch line was, but does this help you? Need a source? I have them, but my job is not to educate you. You have a Google machine and probably McDonald's free internet. LMAOOOO

I said yes and here is why--we either get Bryce right by the end of the season or we draft #1. Pulling him and having Dalton win 5 games leaves us with a top 10 pick (maybe). We could trade up, but we need an edge, probably a WR, S, and maybe DT in addition to QB. If the light comes on and he improves each week, we could still win 5-6 games and might decide that Bryce is good enough to enter year 3---I doubt it and hope not. It really depends on how bad he sucks, however. Furthermore, adding Dalton will help identify areas that need upgrading. I saw Sanders talking to Bryce on the sideline. They shook hands but it seemed as if Bryce was shell shocked and possibly tearing up. A little more preseason action might have helped.

Not sure--good question. I can't watch it again. Good questions

I noticed the miscommunication when the play happened. What we don't know is how late in the play clock we were--for some Reason, Bryce likes to take it down. I think we should get to the LOS and set with over 5 seconds, giving you time to check out of this or that. When you are struggling to beat the clock--the defense knows it. But Bryce could clearly see the advantage out wide and the disadvantage at the LOS. Why did professionals not execute this play for a big gain?

About those big money Guards Morgan spent on….

In fairness to Ickey and Moton, they attacked on the edge more than up the middle--even their blitzes were C gap to sideline -
Bryce could be a future cautionary tale...

So do I. LSU, Oregon (another shorty, but more like Tua--left handed), PSU, Bama, Ole Miss, Texas, Colorado, UGa--and I am missing a few--all could step up this year. Right now? I have 3 first round locks (unless something changes) and I think we could have five or six. -

Canales: Remember, 2.7 seconds, Bryce! Bryce: OK coach!! Canales: Now after you finish your breakfast, you get in there and make us all proud! -

Dart just set a SEC record for 24 straight completions and his qb rating is off the charts (they have not played anyone MTSU and Furman)--has always been mobile enough and has always completed over 60%--I think college prospects are considered accurate around 70%, fwiw). His two games, however, are eye opening. 47 completions in 54 attempts. Nearly 400 yards per game. Great start. While I see the top 3 QBs as Ewers, Beck, and maybe Sanders (I have reasons for some red flags with Sanders), I see a second wave of QBs who could rise into the first round and even the best QB conversation. Any of these four could easily rise, if not all of them: Milroe (ALA) Mussmeier (LSU) and Allar (Penn St.) The quality of the program can elevate a QB and if you play for Georgia or Alabama, that should factor in as a negative. Ole Miss is ranked pretty high, so I will watch Dart closely against equal or better opponents. He could be the real deal, however, having played at USC and then three years under Kiffin. Corral was under Kiffin too, so I wonder if he is able to get the most out of talent that was not considered NFL caliber-but every situation is different. -

People, I am not sure we have to worry about tanking. I do not think we can win a game with this situation. When a second year, #1 overall draft pick explains that it was his job to recognize blitzes and check out or "throw the ball away," I get concerned. First, your life is football--how did you not realize this before Sunday? Second, it happened 4 times. "Fool me once...: and third, I get the feeling that he is playing the victim to a degree. Where is the anger? The fire? The drive? It is almost as if he is entitled and we are fully invested in our newly adopted child. -
