I think they are kicking tires at the very least.

Personally, I think drafting the third or fourth best QB at #4 when you have Ryan under a huge contract and SO MANY needs is dumb. The "no brainer" move is to trade out, acquire a first rounder for next year so you can move up---and meet some needs. Too many GMs see a QB as a "get out of jail free" card. You put an entire franchise on 21-year-old shoulders and you sit back and hope for a miracle. Dumb.

Go away. You are 25% of the volume on this thread and .03% of the meaningful content. You are noise. -

I keep coming back to this thread to see if there is more news because there are now 14 pages, and all I see is a bunch of stupid finger pointing and name calling nonsense from the same few names. Damn, folks--please shut up so people with input can contribute meaningful thoughts and ideas---I don't care what you think or how poorly your self esteem handles disagreement. Get a sports car and buy some Axe body spray. -
Yep. The teams may change, but the QBs are going to sell out early.
-
Right--notice Atlanta is also represented by GM and HC. I keep thinking they will take Fields (hometown boy)
-
They will. And we are not talking scouts or position coaches here--we are sending the 2 who will be making the pick. Heck, I would want to see Lance--then see the others---just to see how his skill set compares. It will be interesting to see if they attend Bama and Texas AM too to see the QBs work. (Have they seen enough of Jones? Are they curious at all about Mond?)
-
Well, they do have a pretty solid LT---maybe that's it.

cant talk about players on other rosters

As much as I want him, it is hard to put him in front of a cb or a Lt. I saw a mock where the saints got him--it scared me.

Tis the season: Watch what they do, not what they say. If you are quoting Rhule or someone involved, they are playing chess right now. Nobody is going to say, "Boy, if we could just get that Knight over there, but we can't be sacrificing 4 pawns to do it..." -

It was a leak--why I have no idea. He is usually very careful with his words. Remember last year at the combine when Cam was the issue--he was masterful -

Both sides have risk. Some people operate in a world where everything is black and white, hot and cold, etc. others understand various degrees of temperature and can function in that gray area. There are a lot of variables. All must be considered and nothing is guaranteed. -

Conspiracy theorist at work: Did anyone find the timing of the press conferences yesterday a bit odd? Praise Teddy, name him your QB, leak that CMC and Shaq are restructured, and then leave the stage without saying anything new? -

But the Jets and Dolphins have other options---so they will not give up too much to get him when they can get Wilson. Miami trading Tua for Watson and a first rounder is a bit risky--but the Panthers are offering 3 first rounders. They can trade with Carolina, get the 8th pick and maybe some players, and they can also trade the first rounders with Atlanta, for example,, and they would get Fields and Atlanta could move back age grab Jones (Ryan's replacement) or Fields or Mond.... So the Panthers are the only team in the top 8 who will go "all in". Spoiler alert--watch Denver. -

You BASTID!!! Picking on Mr. Scot after all he has done for you! -
I am fairly sure the OP and others were not aware of the injury, which is why I did not pile on.

They have Remmers. They can afford to lose a T. Seriously--these big names that get released are fool's gold. The free agents that pay off are those who were stuck behind great starters or playing out of position or in a bad system, etc. Jake Delhomme, for example. Coleman comes to mind. etc.

What does Moton tag mean for Curtis Samuel?

He was the check down a lot, in the slot. Teddy was a perfect match for him--his value is peaking. -

I agree with this. There are some much cheaper rookies waiting to be drafted--that will play hard for a fraction of what Samuel will charge. We'd like to have him back, but it aint happening. -
Fields is starting to sound like a slightly smaller version of Cam to me. The processing concerns bother me, as is the comment about throwing off the back foot. He holds the ball too long as well. No doubt he has the gun and the wheels. Does he have the noodle? Throwing off the back foot and holding the ball too long are often signs of poor anticipation and/or slow processing. He needs the right coach because he is capable of learning and you can't teach the physical tools. I am starting to think he is the guy if we can get him--because 1 and 2 will be gone. None of these qbs are finished products--and I agree, they all need to sit for a bit. I will be very interested to see what goes down with Trubiski later next week. That might be a good indicator of how hungry the market is for QB or how much faith there is in this QB group. I cannot make up my mind about Lance---I wanted him badly a few months ago, and now these comments are talking me out of it. Jones---boom or bust-I think it depends on the coach and system that selects him. Fields? He has the tools. Trevor? Could he be overrated? I'd still take him, but his accuracy issues in a fairly weak conference etc. Wilson? Again, he needs the right team and system. NYJ's could ruin him. So what is the best move? Free agency? Draft? If so, who? Popcorn ready.

They all have some red flags and question marks, but this year these QBs will be broken down more than other years--so many people want a QB, so many people will spend the next 7 weeks breaking these guys apart. It is funny that so many scouts differ on the same player--they represent different systems, however. And fwiw about the scout making obvious statements about Jones and Brady--- He would have said the same thing about Tom Brady in college. In college, Tom Brady was not the next Tom Brady---hoping that makes sense. I get his point--and I fear we could be passing on a really good QB or we could be taking Clausen II. That is why I hope Rhule and Co. did their homework. However, the scout talks about players' physical tools when comparing them to Brady--you need to compare the mental tool. That is what I speculate to be the reason Brady is Brady--because he does have tools others had-- I love this time of year---the more I dig and explicate, the more I am wrong.
