  1. I think Pitts is the most interesting player in the draft.
  2. Funny how people pick one outlier and ignore hundreds of other variables and present it as if it is a mic dropping statement of truth that dispels all points.
  3. I see that. Cincy going with Pitts with Sewell and Chase on the board?
  4. You got half of this right---why?
  5. Because so many look to me for support---spiritual, emotional, lumbar, and child---I decided to start a thread to give us things to hope for--and why. No charge. Please add to this list For example: HOPE FOR Denver to not draft a QB in rounds 1 or 2.....Because if they do not, they will trade for Teddy. San Francisco to draft Mac Jones......Because if they do, that leaves 2 of the top QBs left with only 5 picks remaining. Teams will trade up with Miami and Detroit for those QBs--or the Panthers. If they trade with Miami and Detroit, then that means Sewell, Chase, Pitts--the best 3 non qbs--will be there at #8, and we have trade value or a damn good player. Atlanta to not draft a QB.....Pitts is getting a lot of attention here. as is Lance/Fields and Sewell. They do not need a QB. They are looking to move Jones (rumor) so if that is true, could a WR or Pitts be the ticket? Cincinnati to draft LSU WR Chase.....It means that Sewell is still in play, 2 picks away. Detroit to draft a WR and not trade the pick....The Lions need 2--maybe 3 WRs. Their second biggest need is a RT, and there are no RTs at #7. Their best move? Trade back and grab a RT and WR later. Expect a trade, but if not, Waddle or Chase will be the pick. Still, I am about 70% sure this pick gets dealt. Carolina finds a partner to move back....Of course you have to take Sewell, but he might be the only player we grab. If Slater is there, maybe. Yet Carolina may play the deep T odds and move back with the LAChargers for Slater, grab Horn and a T later. While I really want a solid LT, I worry that we think we have addressed it well enough to skip T on day one and go after a top CB. As much as it hurts, it could be the smartest move, especially if a QB is there to help raise the rent for #8. Sewell falls to Carolina.....The best LT in years falls in our laps? No brainer. If he is not there and a big trade offer is on the phone, perhaps another no brainer. Please add to this as you think of them
  6. If denver does not get a QB in hte draft, TB is a Bronco. If they do, who knows.
  7. Players will obviously be cut after the draft to make room
  8. I dunno. There could be 2 of the 3 top WRs gone...Sewell could be on the board....
  9. You bring it all together. Denver, New England, Washington, and Chicago (9-20) all have no real options like we do at QB. 9, 15, 19, 20. Do not forget, Philly and Minnesota could decide to get a QB-- So if Miami and Detroit take non QBs, OH MY.
  10. And he talked about the Panthers averaging 6.2 picks per draft vs. the league average 8.1. Unless a certain player is there (SEWELL) we are probably trading down.
  11. Hurney will run to the podium, by mistake.
  12. Moo, you got me thinking. If they had a pro bowl for professional bowlers, what would you call it?
  13. It could mean that since you can't find a Drew Brees who can move like Lamar Jackson, you take the better QB--Drew Brees. Perspective is everything.
  14. People seem to overlook the fact that Bridgewater might have been one of a few options. Damn the contract, Marty, but the player? He went 5-0 the year before, a former first rounder. You do not find many sure things in free agency at QB. And if the Panthers were the only team to ever miss on a QB free agent, I could see the criticism. It is a process.
  15. Folks, your argument about Jones is crazy. He puts the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there. Period. How can you criticize that? If he was protected, he should be. If he had good WRs? He should have--that is not a criticism. You act like Lance and Trevor did not have weapons or an OL. I have been saying this for months--he gets it done and it ain't pretty, but if you watch the tape--when he throws the ball (before the WR is open) that matters. Yards after the catch are not WR stats--they are QB stats because the ball arrived before the window closed and the WR caught it in stride. You are ignorantly bashing the national championship QB who has the highest completion percentage in NCAA history and averaged 349 yards per game. Take Trevor, Fields, Lance, or Wilson and put them behind center in Bama, and they probably do WORSE or no better. Damn. So he can't run. Not a RB.
  16. I would LOVE to make a career doing what he does--knowing that being wrong is OK. I would even sport the Kiper hair just to know that I got rich predicting where people will never play football.
  17. Perhaps a new emoji for draft week:
  18. You made me do this: Remember--this is your fault: You are to blame for this: This is on you:
  19. I thought Zod was homeless. This changes everything!
  20. Very fair question. Because there are things called performance variables, and I teach them in relation to leadership. Here is a physical example I use in a class to demonstrate the concept. 1. I have a volunteer come to the front of the classroom. I have then stand on one foot for 30 seconds or so if they can--most can. Then I have them do it with the class applauding--they do better. Then I have the do it with their eyes closed, and they fall before 30 seconds are up. The message? Without support and vision, we fail. I tie that to many other things in relation to leadership/management, and the stats are always the same---human beings need support, guidance, etc. to succeed. That does not give me a crystal ball, but the students find it to be fascinating. I have them describe why they were able to stand better with the applause. Most say, "Because I did not want to let everyone down or cause the applause to stop based on failure." Gave them confidence. The eyes closed? "I felt insecure. As if everyone was watching. Vulnerable--a sacrifice. And it is harder to balance when your environment is not defined--even if you know the environment. We need the reassurance of knowing for ourselves..." etc. In the end, we are all humans. The kid was 20 years old when he got there. If it did not destroy him, which is often the case, it will make him better and he will be better with support and sensible vision, and when we give him the ability to see his surroundings and act as he sees fit, he should improve. There is a lot of research on this in management and leadership psychology texts. While I do not know, I believe very strongly this will be a good setting, if surrounded by positive, visionary, supportive people---I think we have that.
  21. yeah, you have to see who is on the board at 8
  22. Gonna be Jones. Not going up to #3 for a smallish school QB with basically 1 season of film. They may see some Mahomes in him, but that is a long shot.
