  1. Realistically, Brown would be a terrific fourth WR. I am not sure that he has the body to take 16 games of NFL pounding. We need another good, outside WR (I don't want to call it a #2; I think a complement to Benjamin) and a speedy, sure-handed slot. I would not mind a possession-type WR like Cotchery and Brown splitting time there, playing situationally
  2. Remmers is so important-what a find. He played LT at Ore St, so if we could find 2 tackles and Remmers could provided depth at both spots, he is worth a decent contract. However, his play takes the pressure off Gettlemen because he was decent at RT--the best RT we have had in years. Silatolu and Kugbila are looking like wasted picks, But that doesn't matter when you can find a gem like Norwell and draft a player like Turner. Velasco is a key piece-he is the Remmers of the interior line because he can play center. I feel good about this unit, but I think we are going to have to start a rookie at LT. We shall see.
  3. Where do they NOT have cameras in the stadium (required since 9/11)? Bathrooms. Where does the Patriot equipment personnel take 24 footballs in 2 bags? The bathroom. How long was he probably carrying the balls from the inspection area to the field? I am guessing 10 minutes at the most. If you were going to pee, would it be when you had a task that required carrying 2 large sacks or would you go before or after that task? If 90 seconds is not enough time to deflate 11 footballs, is it enough time to switch the Patriots' bag with one hidden in the bathroom? Bill B. is still lying about Spygate because Goodell covered the tracks by destroying the evidence over a 2-week period following his "investigation." Remember, he is friends with Kraft, his employee, and he is determined to preserve the integrity of the game. So he fined BB for what was already known, and he probably destroyed evidence that was not, because he has said many times that he will "protect the shield." So we are mistaken when we assume that a judicial process is underway. A business process is underway. BB feels certain that no confession and no visual evidence = innocence. He might be right. Goodell has been hammered this year and will not make a strong stand. He is looking for an out, not the truth. Richard Sherman knows it, which is why he said what he said. Finally, the Patriots do not have to explain why the other 12 balls the Pats employee handed were not out of compliance, but if they offer explanations that include things like temperature and pre-game handling, they are operating on the assumption that the Colts do not do the same thing (maybe aware that they are an indoor team and there practice balls are never in the elements). However, the 12 balls in the Colts bag were regulation, and nearly all of the Patriots balls were not. They were in the same place at the same time, in the same weather, in the same game. So instead of filling us with a bunch of science crap (the video above assumes that weight and throwing velocity are the variables that would benefit Brady, but that is presumptuous. The Hall of Fame QB's grip was the reason the balls were under-inflated. To prevent turnovers. Remember the time he was saved vs. Oakland in the "Tuck Rule" game? Heck, defending Marty Hurney's comment about the culture of cheating in New England--they have a storied history of finding ways to gain an unfair advantage. It was New England vs. Miami in 1982 when the ex con cleared snow off the field in Foxboro so the kicker could get footing. The Pats won 3-0. Filming signals and walk throughs in spy gate 20 years later, found with underinflated balls that improve grip 12 years after that when playing in a quagmire....Do you think these are exceptions or tips of the ice berg? Since there is nobody officiating the ethical practices of teams, The Pats know by now that you can twist the rules and bend the truth to win games and play stupid when caught. It is a culture. Mr. Kraft should get no apology even if they cannot prove guilt. That is an arrogant rich man showing how out of touch he is with reality. He is playing the media to win support. I hope it has been a distraction this week and last. I hope Bill is shut out and loses 53-0 because the Seahawks found a loop hole in the rule book.
  4. What I don't get and the question (I don't think) anyone has asked yet--Why would a lone attendant carrying 24 footballs in 2 bags stop at the rest room? Would he not go to the restroom when he wasn't loaded down with footballs, a period that I do not imagine was to be a prolonged situation? WHen they said he did not have enough time to alter the balls (90 seconds), does that rule out that he already had a bag of altered balls in the restroom and simply switched them? The restroom is one place where there are no cameras--surely they know that. I am not asking if it was probable, I am asking if it is possible. Heck, that is how I would do it if I was going to play with illegal footballs. 2 identical bags, one to the refs that the Pats never intended to play with, the other doctored, placed in the men's room where a quick switch was easily possible. Before you dismiss this idea, remember that he filmed other teams' signals and exhibits no remorse. Remember that Goodell (buddy and employee of Kraft) destroyed the notes and videos after his investigation into that matter, and never gave a reason for doing so. Remember Hurney's comments. Yes, this is a conspiracy theory based on facts presented. However, no alternative theory explains to me how the Colt's footballs, that underwent identical treatment, were all in compliance. If the Patriots didn't have a history of accusations for cheating and underhanded maneuvering, then maybe they get a pass on this one--but this is the same team, same coach, etc. that cheated before. They deserve this scrutiny, innocent or not.
  5. I didn't see that last time (tapping out). Sorry to pile on--I think I came in the discussion late. Apologies.
  6. Dawg, these are realistic names. Yes, they are beaten-down stocks--we can't afford the big names. I hope people understand what you are doing here.
  7. your points are contradictions. I see what you are trying to say, but you can't blame the people who don't like cheating and complain when they feel the tables were tilted. Who polices the NFL? The whistle blowers and complainers. If you want to overlook the cheating and blame those who oppose it. Bias--"ridiculous tapes" Shows me that you do not have any idea how much of an advantage that would be. You also don't mention the other tapes and notes that Goodell (Robert Kraft's buddy) destroyed without reason. Excuses suggests that the Pats did not have an unfair advantage. They did, and their balls were found to be out of compliance--since the annoying complainers only complained that the balls were underinflated and it happened DURING the game, how do call that an "excuse?" I have a pretty good idea that an audit/internal investigation of BB's operation would uncover a lot more of this king of crap--stuff you call smart. Just play by the damn rules and stop trying to find loopholes.
  8. If this is the case, and the Pats were being courageous, why did they initially deny spygate and now this? Just say, "we always do it. We are smart, everyone else is dumb." I am not sure that I would call the whistle-blowers cowards. They seem to be only way our NFL rulebook is being enforced.
  9. He is such a liar. How arrogant do you have to be to say that, knowing people with actual degrees will rip you to pieces. Liars think they fool everyone.
  10. All of the footballs on one side except one. It miraculously was not impacted by BB's air-pressure reducing phenomena.
  11. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bill-nye-calls-bs-on-bill-belichick-what-he-said-didnt-make-any-sense/ar-AA8zn0l?ocid=U141DHP Bill Nye calls BS on BB
  12. Gettlemen is the best hire in franchise history. Discuss.

  13. Sure. I understand that I am playing "Conspiracy Theory," but 1 ball at the bottom (when I would guess there would be several) that is a good 2 lbs different? My conspiracy theory suggests that the equipment manager: Ballboy division missed one.
  14. Sure. My only question to BB about his theory and research would be, "Why were all the balls not uniform?" In other words, 1 ball was in compliance. One ball was not exposed to the treatments and barometric pressure (sarcasm) he so unscientifically tried to explain to us. Was that ball kept indoors? Was it not roughed up? Maybe it was the kicking ball, and it makes sense that it would be inflated to the max. However, nobody said that--I am just trying to anticipate his answer.
  15. I think there is a bit of a cover up going on. What was today actually about? I think there was some pre-investigation positioning going on: An attempt to put this to rest on their end so they will not be asked about it all week.--- To trivialize the ordeal. (BB was "embarrassed" by the amount of time he had to spend on this--ready to focus on something more important--this is an attempt to make himself the victim by having to spend his precious time on nonsense). To win over the public and put pressure on the NFL-maybe preventing them from using the science behind ball deflation. If the NFL presents data that shows the balls would not lose 2 lbs of pressure in 2 hours in any weather, they can say that it contradicts their study) To put blame on the refs--(Johnny Cochran found fault in the LAPD, for example) The NFL needs to ask: 1. Why were the Colts' balls in compliance? 2 If the balls were deflated as suggested by rubbing, temperature, and atmospheric conditions, why was 1 ball inflated properly? 3. Do the equipment managers know how Brady likes his shoulderpads, helmets, facemask placement on that helmet, etc. without having to ask him every game? If so, would they also know how he likes his footballs inflated? If so, has Brady not made public comments about ball inflation? Did anyone notice Bill's attitude about spygate? Did he sound like a man remorseful about breaking rules and tarnishing the shield? No, he was still making excuses about trying to gain unfair advantages.
  16. He is probably going to rise after the combine, but who knows.( he interviews well) I think he could be a late-second rounder by draft day.
  17. I think Bersin should have made the pro bowl since no other punt goalie made it.
  18. That punt return average (19.1) is higher than some Kick return averages. Double take.
  19. I thought Bersin was better than Lafell last year during camp. Glad to see it. How many SC small college players do we have?.
  20. I agree-we are talking about 3 undrafted players competing for the starting spots. Frankly, if all three were cut, I am not sure any would be picked up. Chandler is my favorite.
  21. At T, we are going to be better than everyone thinks. I like our depth on the OL, so maybe a competition will produce some overachievers.
  22. I hate that too, because Hardy is entertaining. One of the points I made when supporting the fact that Gettlemen has not given him a big contract yet was the unpredictable nature of his personality. I think he is on the fast track, and giving him millions may not be anything more than pouring gas on a hot grill. This year, we shall see. But you are right--Greg H. put himself in a position. If the girl was drunk and on cocaine as GH suggested, then why is he with a girl who is drunk and on the powder? If charges are dropped because he is totally innocent, then there will always be that lingering doubt that he paid his way to innocence.
  23. My brother in law lives in Columbus and is an OSU alum. He says that Philly is a hard worker. He said that he assumed a leadership role this season. Philly was not their primary return man. "He is no Hester" He said that he had "pretty good" hands. Nice addition.
  24. Perhaps you should have the person who reads posts to you explain what it is I am saying. Nobody screamed for anyone's head. That is how you twist facts and run with them. Responding to anything you post is a usually a waste of time.
