  1. This increases Slater's value--hard to imagine more drama than this draft....I have to pee.
  2. Since nobody asked me, I have to interject here with a profound update of knowledge: You have to look at the pockets of talent like fishing in a lake (I don't fish). However, a CB like Horn or Farley later in the first round makes people angry. (Boo, Hiss). However, a #1 CB and a second rounder means the Panthers would get a #1 CB, trade up for a WR (with the third rounder) and then take a LT at #39 since the draft is deep. No, we did not get Slater, but we did make the #1 CB spot better, the #2 CB spot better, the slot WR spot better, and LT better. Do not underestimate the value of a #1 CB in a division peopled by Thomas, Jones, and Evans. Is an Dillon Rundz (sp--NDSU OT) as good as Slater? No. Is he probably a substantial upgrade over Little/Scott/injured Okung? Ummmmm. Yep. Would Toney or Rondale More get it done as the #3 or slot? Ummmmmmm. Yup again. So instead of focusing on what 1 player can do vs. what we get in a trade back, you have to look at the big picture.
  3. This is the best argument for trading back in the first round. Million ways to do this, but what if you traded back and took a #1 CB like Horn or Farley. Huddle nation would be on suicide watch, but then you drafted another Moore (Elijah or Rondale) WR in the second, and since you added a second rounder in 2022 (to cover for the Darnold trade) and a third in 2021, you draft A TE (Jordan) and an OT (Christensen). So since you traded Bridgewater for a fifth, you have now got back most of your Darnold trade capital by adding a 2nd and 5th to fill the lost 2nd and 4th in 2022, and you have a #1 CB, a slot/third WR, a #2 TE, and a LT that can start in a year. I realize Christensen is not Sewell, but you got a #1 CB and a weapon at WR and TE.
  4. I have a few really outrageous picks---so that if they somehow happen, I can act like a stud guru. If I am wrong, so what, you missed a pick. I think the Pats will trade back and take Mond--maybe after the last of the big five qbs go off the board. I based this on the fact that Mond's stock was rising a bit, and by April 29, he could be in early round 2 late round 1 range. BB is desperate, and if the QBs are gone and all he has is Cam, he could pull the trigger. The Pats have spent a lot of time studying / scouting Mond.
  5. Did not know you knew Bill? Tell him I said, "Hello, I hate your friggin' overrated ass." Thanks
  6. I would like to add that I am paying attention to some of you and finding players that I have somehow overlooked, but I am comforted in knowing that we all want the same things, just have different ideas about going about it.
  7. My third rounder was just a reach, but he was good at the SR bowl and I have seen him as high as in the 70s on big boards. I have a feeling that 2 Stanford Cardinal players will be huge surprises and great values--QB Mills and Walker Little LT and both are day 2 picks.
  8. I keep feeling that we might take Jack Anderson, G Tex Tech late in the draft. he is underrated, imo and was at the SR bowl
  9. Fitts did not impress me as an option because I actually like Arnold and I think we are going to like the kid from LSU via Seattle Sullivan. Then there is Thomas. who as a #2, is OK. HOWEVER, he can play slot WR, out wide, wing, tight, etc. Move him around and he is hard to stop.
  10. If we trade back and get a stud slot WR and #1 CB and starting LT in the first 39 picks, that might be considered a good draft.
  11. I am going to revisit what I said some time ago, before we (and I) started praying for a T. There are starting tackles in early round 2. We need a #1 CB so that Jackson is not locked up on the opposition's #1. That makes both outside CBs better. We can't find that #1 CB in rounds 2-7. Did we sign a free agent who can play #1? We signed a 32-year old nickel and a gamble.
  12. "Tom Brady will be the greatest QB ever to play the game." -----MHS831, April 22, 2000 to some guy at Walmart.
  13. I said it like 43 seconds before her---but I am not petty. (no, I really didn't see it until she mentioned it)= I was asking to make sure the sentiment has not changed. I saw a survey on NFL network that showed how popular opinion had shifted from Jones to Fields--so I was curious)
  14. I think our D is better equipped to handle pitts than they would be a third stud WR or Sewell.
  15. Although I agree, he is listed as a LB because they do not know what to call him.
  16. I have been eyeballing this guy for about 6 weeks. I like him too. Saw him watching Davis Mills vids.
  17. I think, if Fields is there, he is a Lion.
  18. I see the dropoff in the first around 12-13, and it stays pretty level through mid second. Of course, that could be my perspective and not fact. They rarely diverge, however. The secret is to do about 40 mocks, and then when you find one that hits on a few correctly, whip that one out.
  19. Da Board: Sewell, Slater, WR WR WR---Anything else is chin music
  20. You know my mind has changed on some of these. and there is no way to predict. the CB in the third is way crazy, but if I am right, you all will NEVER hear the end of it.
