Panthers prospect pro day workouts/meetings thread
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
In my mocks, it is hard to get a T after the second round. I can see the S in this defense, however. We have little back there if we play Chinn at LB. I think they probably feel that we at least have some bodies a LT this year. -
REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I do not see the Texans holding on to him until the regular season---they have suitors now--end the drama, get the cloud above your head gone. We will see how they do. Front office idiocy. -

In most civil cases, six jurors sit to hear a matter, although there may be as many as 12 jurors -

You do realize that everyone was calling the lawyer screwy, right? -
As much as I have been trying to mention this, the best move might just be to trade back 3-4 spots and take Mac Jones. (I know--everyone says he sucks but his numbers are elite--and I know you have that figured out as well---great offense--like Burrow and Trevor and Tua and even Lance and Fields and Wilson did not, in their own respective worlds.) Jones and adding pick might be wiser that Tua/Fields/Lance and losing a pick or two or three. However, some have written him off, but if you read the real QB experts and what they say about him---I do not think they agree. Jones probably does last beyond New England at 15. I could be wrong--but so could anyone who disagrees. Me? I will take the guy who won a championship and posted nearly 80% completion rates at an 11.2 yards per attempt clip. I like his processing speed and decision-making, and I like the fact that people who know the QB position like him.

Trade up into the early first round twice?
-
We have Arnold (6-6 225 lb TE) and Sullivan (6-5, 240 lb coverted WR to TE at LSU) are lesser versions of Pitts--so if we take a pass catching TE in round 1, I would expect heads to roll.
-
I am sure R. Anderson might be a good person to ask--as is Elfein.
-
No, his performance on his team was worse than Teddy's on the Panthers last year.
-
Lol! Well, since Limbaugh died, I assumed...
-
And it is equally immoral to denounce a person based on mere allegations. The point he was making? You support Trump when you KNOW he committed adultery and is currently being sued for rape. Epstien's friend. 30 or so accusers of more than Watson is being accused. And you don't want Watson based on one side of a questionable story (Watson's attorney to speak Monday). Is that an accurate assessment of your position on these two unrelated matters?
-
Don't expect facts here--at best you will get spewed misinformation and propaganda, but you are more likely to experience some "whatabout..." It is how Fox trains its viewers.
-
Regardless of whether or not the Texans are behind damaging their own goods, low-ball if you think his chances are good. We have only heard through the females' attorney, and his rep is questionable--let's hear from Watson's attorney. Me? If I am looking into this, it is a buyer's market. I would offer a deal contingent upon his playing time--So I would send them a #1 in 2022 now, voidable if he does not play. I would offer 2023 first rounder, and (if possible) the 2024 first rounder, assuming previous years were not voided. So give them NO first rounders in 2021--no players either.

Would not be surprised to see us keep the two tall pass catching TEs (Arnold, Sullivan) and Thomas and Thompson to play some blocking back/blocking TE roles. Since Armah is gone, they have a roster spot to keep 4

Mike Silver: Panthers we attempting to sign TE Kyle Rudolph
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the TE position, like a few others, is going to surprise you. Brady is making his mark---he liked this guy (Arnold)--Sullivan is a converted WR at LSU that played TE as a SR--the guy Fits signed from Seattle. Both are tall, lean pass-catching TEs. Maybe Thomas and Thompson can block, but I think we have something we did not have last year.... -
The theme is versatility--just about every player could play somewhere else effectively. Roster spots, minimizing the need to sub...etc.
-
Another player from a school I have never heard of--- 6'6" 220. Probably plays outside more than tight.
-
Yes. Good point. It sure does.
-
I liked Moore too--you have to let the Huddle comics post their ???? comments. They would turn down a date with Barbara Fialho because they have never heard of her. Then the analysis starts. Very nice signing.
-
So you have to know that if you move up and miss, as a first year GM, YIKES. He will be bold---and I think they would give up the second rounder for the QB--which may be why we signed Scott and Ewing---popcorn.
-
Do your homework--if he is damaged goods but there is nothing more, he might be worth the gamble. I trade stocks--you don't buy them when they are high---you wait for them to get beaten down. I'd low ball some offer, leave it on the table until I resolve me QB issue, and decrease it every 48 hours or so. Would it be worth betting on him to withstand the storm? Even if it takes a year, you got him cheap.
-
I cannot decide between Fields and Lance---I am not trashing Jones, but I see the differences--but I think we will not sit at 8 if we do not have a qb on draft day. So I would be working out a trade with Miami or Cincinnati for "that" QB (Lance or Fields, whichever is left)
-
I would trade back 5-7 spots and take Mac Jones. With the extra pick, take a CB and T later in the second. If Jones is gone after the move back, take a T and then a CB in round 2. With the extra pick and the third rounder, trade with a team like the Jets (if they take Wilson), Jax (if they are willing to trade Minshew), Detroit (Goff, because if 4 were gone, Detroit would have taken one, probably), etc. If not, take Mond and keep Bridgewater for another year. I am thinking out loud--we will trade up aggressively--Miami or Cincinnati.
-
Me neither, but this is a very good OL draft. I am thinking they will draft some rookies and these are the vets that they will compete with. Note these veteran signings (2) play all 5 positions between them. They will probably start in the short term...and I agree with every word you write. Not the strategy I would have gone with. I found it odd that the 2 players we agree to sign on Monday--seemingly the players we targeted early--are the most suspect signing. I love the Fox, Reddick, and Perryman signings. I am really fond of the Moore signing--probably the best value.

Dalton mania baby.
