  1. I wanted to include Parsons, and I know Rhule knows the kid based on his alumni status, but I have heard things about Parsons, and then I heard Rhule say something like, "A player may not be the kind of kid we would want to coach..." Parsons jumped into my head. Then we have Perryman, Carter, etc. and I know we are a franchise with a long proud tradition at MLB---better than any other team (including the Bears) I can think of---so I was torn.
  2. So if Atlanta would take Darnold and and our first for the #4 pick--also sending us a 4th rounder and second rounder in 2022 and sixth in 2021, would you do it?
  3. Fields has risk, Lance has risk, Darnold has risk. Probably all have substantial upside. The difference? Only 1 will not cost us a 2021 first round draft pick.
  4. I do not know., but for a few weeks they reported that they were not returning calls. Who knows what they knew, but I wonder if they found out before the story broke and realized that they could not trade him...I think the story will come out. If i am not mistaken, there has to transparency about stuff like this--but if they did not know and they denied offers, damn they are cursed.
  5. I think it is funny watching that paid model try to act interested in him. You could just about see her thoughts.
  6. And he saved us from having to move up, costing us a pick. And if we move back, we basically got him for free--if we trade Teddy---Sam will have cost this team a 4th rounder in 2022. And people were bitching about the cost--the same people who were ok giving 3 first rounders to Houston for deep tissue love in the box. Which brings us from the second worst to the worst run organization in football---the Houston "Watson is not being traded" Texans. Could they make worse decisions? Had they traded him from the get go, they have 3 firsts and Watson is someone else's problem.
  7. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only listen to the complete works of one recording artist/band, who would it be? Bonus question: Of those songs, which is your favorite? (yes, this is panther related, dammit)

  9. FUN FOR ALL YOU NEEDED TIME KILLERS AND ACTIVITIES TO KILL THE NEXT 5 DAYS-THINK WORD SEARCH HERE. SORTA. In the Pre-draft presser, Fitterer says the Panther Round 1 board is 16 names. While I am not sure how they do this, Let's assume they have 16 players they would draft at #8 or in a trade back-in Round 1. So this is not the 16 best players, it is the 16 Round 1 Players who make the Panther shopping list. Who are they? Here is the drill--I am going to provide a list of the top 40 players from the list Cpt. Morgan shared on another thread. You select the 16 first round players names on their board. Who is not on the board, in what order are the others on the board. Bold your 16 - CONSENSUS BIG BOARD Ranking Position Player School 1. QB Trevor Lawrence Clemson 2. TE Kyle Pitts Florida 3. 10. I have inside intel that says we are probably staying at 8 or moving back if we don't trade up.
  11. Several dozens of you have reached out to me for my tea leave reading on this conference. Here is the take: Fitterer and Rhule seem to be on the same page. They seem to like each other. Moving on. We are reaching out to teams about moving back, or we could sit there at 8. No mention of moving up. I see the draft this way: Picks 1-4, QB. (Even if a trade happens, 4 QBs are going. Mac to SF? Hope so. Picks 5-7 Pitts, Sewell, and maybe Chase. (the most elite players at their positions--we take Pitts or Sewell at #8, and that is it. We are trading back if they are not there). Picks 8-10: WR Sweet spot. This is where you get a WR (Waddle or Smith) Slater, Waddle, and maybe a wildcard like QB, MLB, WR Picks 11-15: CB Sweet spot: ( Surtain, Horn, Newsome, Farley in range)_ Picks 16-20: Edge Rusher Sweet Spot Bunch of guys. Why do edge rushers have weird names? Picks 21-25: Next Tier OL sweet spot (Vera Tucker, Darrisaw, Jenkins, etc.) So what exactly was said: Dropoff around 15-19, but the Panthers have 16 first round grades. That is CB country, and I think there was mention of a press corner. Ummm--Horn or Newsome? There is one QB we like, giggle, giggle. Nope. While I think they like Fields, they would rather teams think there is QB we'd take. That makes a team move up above them to take a QB---a player we really do not want to take. Frankly, I am starting to really like Fields and Lance, but I think the smart play is to give Darnold a shot and build around a QB-- THE TEA LEAVES HAVE SPOKEN: Trading back from 8 to 15, for example, gets you a second rounder. We are hoping to draft a #1 CB-- a press CB, something we did not have last year and Snow probably wants to jam and run with the #1 WR, and we are going to address T and WR in round 2. Why is the third rounder important? Ask Jeremy Chinn, who is a Panther because we used it to move up for a stud. Or we could take a G/C there.
  12. No combine, eliminated from playoffs in October, QB drama, this is great stuff.
  13. This increases Slater's value--hard to imagine more drama than this draft....I have to pee.
  14. Since nobody asked me, I have to interject here with a profound update of knowledge: You have to look at the pockets of talent like fishing in a lake (I don't fish). However, a CB like Horn or Farley later in the first round makes people angry. (Boo, Hiss). However, a #1 CB and a second rounder means the Panthers would get a #1 CB, trade up for a WR (with the third rounder) and then take a LT at #39 since the draft is deep. No, we did not get Slater, but we did make the #1 CB spot better, the #2 CB spot better, the slot WR spot better, and LT better. Do not underestimate the value of a #1 CB in a division peopled by Thomas, Jones, and Evans. Is an Dillon Rundz (sp--NDSU OT) as good as Slater? No. Is he probably a substantial upgrade over Little/Scott/injured Okung? Ummmmm. Yep. Would Toney or Rondale More get it done as the #3 or slot? Ummmmmmm. Yup again. So instead of focusing on what 1 player can do vs. what we get in a trade back, you have to look at the big picture.
  15. This is the best argument for trading back in the first round. Million ways to do this, but what if you traded back and took a #1 CB like Horn or Farley. Huddle nation would be on suicide watch, but then you drafted another Moore (Elijah or Rondale) WR in the second, and since you added a second rounder in 2022 (to cover for the Darnold trade) and a third in 2021, you draft A TE (Jordan) and an OT (Christensen). So since you traded Bridgewater for a fifth, you have now got back most of your Darnold trade capital by adding a 2nd and 5th to fill the lost 2nd and 4th in 2022, and you have a #1 CB, a slot/third WR, a #2 TE, and a LT that can start in a year. I realize Christensen is not Sewell, but you got a #1 CB and a weapon at WR and TE.
  16. I have a few really outrageous picks---so that if they somehow happen, I can act like a stud guru. If I am wrong, so what, you missed a pick. I think the Pats will trade back and take Mond--maybe after the last of the big five qbs go off the board. I based this on the fact that Mond's stock was rising a bit, and by April 29, he could be in early round 2 late round 1 range. BB is desperate, and if the QBs are gone and all he has is Cam, he could pull the trigger. The Pats have spent a lot of time studying / scouting Mond.
  17. Did not know you knew Bill? Tell him I said, "Hello, I hate your friggin' overrated ass." Thanks
  18. I would like to add that I am paying attention to some of you and finding players that I have somehow overlooked, but I am comforted in knowing that we all want the same things, just have different ideas about going about it.
  19. My third rounder was just a reach, but he was good at the SR bowl and I have seen him as high as in the 70s on big boards. I have a feeling that 2 Stanford Cardinal players will be huge surprises and great values--QB Mills and Walker Little LT and both are day 2 picks.
